The article proposes a new method of determining traffic characteristics of multiservice overflow systems that carry adaptive traffic. When the total offered load in primary resources exceeds a certain value, this type of traffic is admitted for service with lower bitrate. A particular attention is given in the article to a method for a determination of the parameters of traffic that overflows to secondary resources as well as to the way adaptive traffic is serviced. The method takes into consideration three possible types of traffic: Erlang, Engset, and Pascal traffic. It is based on a generalization of Hayward’s concept and its application to model systems with adaptive traffic with threshold compression. The method can be used for optimal dimensioning of logical networks (slices) in modern mobile systems due to possibility of analytical determination of grade of service parameters (blocking probability, carried traffic, and network load). To verify the accuracy of the proposed model the results of analytical calculations, obtained on the basis of the proposed model, are then compared with the results of simulation experiments for a number of selected structures of overflow systems that service adaptive traffic. The results of the study demonstrate high accuracy of the proposed theoretical model.

The present paper proposes a new method for analytical modelling multiservice networks with implemented traffic overflow mechanisms. The basis for the proposed method is a special two-dimensional convolution algorithm that enables determination of the occupancy distribution and the blocking probability in network systems in which traffic streams of individual classes can be serviced by both primary and alternative resources. The algorithm worked out by the authors makes it possible to model systems with any type of traffic offered to primary resources. In order to estimate the accuracy of the proposed method, the analytical results of blocking probabilities in selected networks with traffic overflow have been compared with simulation data.

Background: The constancy of the ambient temperature is the main condition to correctly determine the time of death by thermometric method. However, in practice, this requirement is met only in cases of death in closed rooms. In this study, an exponential mathematical model was proposed for corpse cooling under any changes in ambient temperature. Aim: This study aimed to develop a mathematical model to determine the time of death based on the NewtonRichman cooling law in changing ambient temperature conditions. Materials and methods: Mathematical modeling of corpse cooling under changing ambient temperature is performed, focusing on problem solving of thermometric determination of the time of death. The axillary hollow was used as the diagnostic zone of the corpse, and the temperature of which at the time of death is taken is 36.6С. Results: A method of reverse reproduction of the cadaver temperature in conditions of changing ambient temperature has been developed. Results allow a relatively simple analytical determination of the time of death in the early postmortem period. Conclusions: The proposed method is advisable to be used in forensic medical practice to determine the time of death in early postmortem period. The developed mathematical model is implemented in the format of the application program Warm Bodies NRN. Use of tympanic and intraocular thermometry was recommended within the proposed model.

Wireless and mobile communication systems have evolved considerably in recent years. Seamless mobility is one of the main challenges facing mobile users in wireless and mobile systems. However, highly mobile users lead to a high number of handover failures and unnecessary handovers due to the limited resources and coverage limitations with a high mobile speed. The traditional handover models are unable to cope with high mobile users in such environments. This paper proposes, an intelligent handover decision approach to minimize the probability of handover failures and unnecessary handovers whilst maximizing the usage of resources in highly mobile environments. The proposed approach is based on modelling the system using a Markov chain to enhance the system’s performance in terms of blocking probability, mean queue length and transmission delay. The results are compared with the traditional handover model. Simulation is also employed to validate the accuracy of the proposed model. Numerical results have shown that the proposed method outperforms the traditional algorithm over a wide range of handover failures and significantly reduced the number of such failures and unnecessary handovers. The results of this study show that quality if service (QoS) measures of such systems can be evaluated efficiently and accurately using the proposed analytical model. However, the performance results have also shown that it is still necessary to explore an effective model for operational spaces. In addition, the proposed model can also be adapted to various types of networks considering the high speed of the mobile user and the radius of the network.

The paper presents the results of theoretical modeling of joined movement of pump rods and plunger pump and multiphase flow in a well for determination of dynamic loads on the polished rod of pumping unit. The specificity of the proposed model is the possibility of taking into account for complications in rod pump operating, such as leakage in valve steam, presence of gas and emulsion, incorrect fitting of plunger inside the cylinder pump. The satisfactory agreement of results of the model simulation with filed measurements are obtained.
