A building heating system had high energy consumption and did not meet the requirements of environmental protection, so it was needed to be reformed. After recalculating the heat load, it was found that the heat source, pipe network specification, and radiator area of the original heating system were oversized. After comparing with a gas-fired boiler, the heat source was transformed into the water source heat pump system. The water supply temperature of the water source heat pump was lower than that of the boiler. Generally, it seemed necessary to increase the radiator area. However, after calculation and verification, when the supply and return water temperature was 65/58°C, the system operated continuously and the original pipe network and radiator could still ensure the indoor temperature of 16°C. The total cost of transformation was 11.5 million Chinese Yuan. After analyzing the operation data of the new system, the water source heat pump system could save 82.6% energy compared with the original system and 29.6% cost compared with the central heating system. The transformation is successful, and the experience is worth popularizing.

Based on the finite-time thermodynamic theory, an operation optimization, of water source heat pump in the combined solar with a dual heat source heat pump which is applied in a greenhouse heating system, is made. According to the ε-NTU method and entropy theory, heat exchange and balance equations are obtained. The function relationship between COP and the indoor temperature Tn, the ambient temperature Ta, low temperature heat source inlet temperature Tie and high temperature heat source inlet temperature Tic is also obtained. By means of programming, the impact of parameters on the COP and the way of regulating this water source heat pump system are presented in this article. The results show that: when a separate water source heat pump is running, by adjusting the hot water temperature and the match status of each indoor heating system, the energy-saving operation can be realized.

Application of heat pump technology is a effective way to achieve energy saving and emission reduction. In order to propose the heat pump system suitable for marine air conditioning, this paper takes a bulk carrier as the research object, calculates the annual dynamic cool and heat loads of ship, proposes five kinds of cold and heat source optional schemes and selects the equipments. On this basis, five optional schemes are evaluated by using the method of AHP from the following aspects:economic, energy consumption, environment, weight and size. The result shows that comprehensive properties of adopting double stage coupling water source heat pump in ship are better than other schemes.

This work describes a large reclaimed water source heat pump system (RWSHPS) and elaborates on the composition of the system and its design principles. According to the characteristics of the reclaimed water and taking into account the initial investment, the project is divided into two stages: the first stage adopts distributed heat pump heating system and the second adopts the combination of centralized and decentralized systems. We analyze the heating capacity of the RWSHPS, when the phase II project is completed, the system can provide hydronic heating water with the supply and return water temperature of 55°C/15°C and meet the hydronic heating demand of 8 million square meters of residential buildings. We make a thermal economics analysis by using Thermal Economics theory on RWSHPS and gas boiler system, it is known that the RWSHPS has more advantages, compared with the gas boiler heating system; both its thermal efficiency and economic efficiency are relatively high. It provides a reference for future applications of the RWSHPS.

The ground water-source heat pump system for the plant factory lacks a scientific operation strategy to solve the problem of high energy consumption in winter and summer. It is very difficult and uneconomical to change the operation conditions by experimental means to obtain actual operation data. The current study aims to build a TRNSYS simulation model of the ground water-source heat pump system of Shanghai Chongming Natural Light Plant Factory. For the heating season, the simulation of energy consumption was 2315 GJ. Compared with the actual energy consumption, the relative error is -0.98%, which indicates that the simulation results are accurate and the simulation model developed is appropriate and usable. Numerical simulations for the whole year on this basis yielded that the plant factory energy supply system operates from November to March with a heating energy consumption of 3530.84 GJ and from June to September with a cooling energy consumption of 1126.24 GJ. In most cases, the indoor temperature fluctuates within a reasonable range, but in the summer high-temperature season, the plant factory temperature will reach above 40℃, which seriously affects plant growth. After optimization, the plant factory stops production in July and August, and the system stops running, the results are that the optimized system can save 56% of the annual cooling energy consumption, totalling 767.48 GJ, which can reduce the costs by 160,318.05 RMB.

Water source heat pump system(WSHPS) is a new energy saving and environmentally air conditioning system, its degree of influence to groundwater related to the feasibility of construction of WSHPS and development & protection of regional groundwater. After introducing WSHPS, this paper analyzed the influence of WSHPS to groundwater, brought up the protection method to reduce influence. At last, a case study of new campus of Taiyuan university was carried out. The results showed that running of WSHPS won’t bring up disadvantage to groundwater environment.

In recent years, with the continuous urban expansion, the central heating sources are commonly insufficient in the areas of Northern China. Besides, the increasing heat transfer temperature difference results in more and more exergy loss between the primary heat network and the secondary heat network. This paper introduces a new central heating system which combines the urban heat network with geothermal energy (CHSCHNGE). In this system, the absorption heat exchange unit, which is composed of an absorption heat pump and a water to water heat exchanger, is as alternative to the conventional water to water heat exchanger at the heat exchange station, and the doing work ability of the primary heat network is utilized to drive the absorption heat pump to extract the shallow geothermal energy. In this way, the heat supply ability of the system will be increased with fewer additional energy consumptions. Since the water after driving the absorption heat pump has high temperature, it can continue to heat the supply water coming from the absorption heat pump. As a result, the water of the primary heat network will be stepped cooled and the exergy loss will be reduced. In this study, the performance of the system is simulated based on the mathematical models of the heat source, the absorption heat exchange unit, the ground heat exchanger and the room. The thermodynamic analyses are performed for three systems and the energy efficiency and exergy efficiency are compared. The results show that (a) the COP of the absorption heat exchange unit is 1.25 and the heating capacity of the system increases by 25%, which can effectively reduce the requirements of central heating sources; (b) the PER of the system increases 14.4% more than that of the conventional co-generation central heating system and 54.1% more than that of the ground source heat pump system; (c) the exergy efficiency of the CHSCHNGE is 17.6% higher than that of the conventional co-generation central heating system and 45.6% higher than that of the ground source heat pump system.
