Disasters, either manmade or natural, call for rapid and timely actions. Due to disaster, all of the communication infrastructures are destroyed, and there is no way for connection between people in disaster and others outside the disaster range. Drone technology is the critical technology for delivering communication services and guiding people and monitoring the unwanted effects of a disaster. The collaboration of advanced technologies can reduce life losses, save people’s lives, and manage the disaster crisis. The network performance of collaboration between the Internet of Things (IoT) and drone edge intelligence can help gather and process data, extend the wireless coverage area, deliver medical emergencies, provide real-time information about the emergency, and gather data from areas that are impossible for humans to reach. In this paper, we focus on the network performance for efficient collaboration of drone edge intelligence and smart wearable devices for disaster management. We focus mainly on network connectivity parameters for improving real-time data sharing between the drone edge intelligence and smart wearable devices. The relevant parameters that are considered in this study include delay, throughput, and the load from drone edge intelligence. It is further shown that network performance can have significant improvement when the abovementioned parameters are correctly optimised, and the improved performance can significantly improve the guiding/coordinating of search and rescue (SAR) teams effectively and efficiently.

This paper designed a motor winding testing system, it can do the dielectric withstand voltage test of inter-turn under 30kV.The system can communicate effectively between PC and machine, by using the PC's powerful capacity of process data and PLC's better stability and the Labview's convenient UI. So the system has real-time data collection, preservation, analysis and other characteristics. This system is able to achieve factory testing and type testing of the motor windings facilitating. Various performance indicators were stable and reliable by field test during a long time.

With ubiquitous deployment of sensors and network connectivity, amounts of real-time data for embedded systems are increasing rapidly and database capability is required for many embedded systems for systematic management of real-time data. In such embedded systems, supporting the timeliness of tasks accessing databases is an important problem. However, recent multicore-based embedded architectures pose a significant challenge for such data-intensive real-time tasks since the response time of accessing data can be significantly affected by potential intercore interferences. In this paper, we propose a novel feedback control scheme that supports the timeliness of data-intensive tasks against unpredictable intercore interferences. In particular, we use multiple inputs/multiple outputs (MIMO) control method that exploits multiple control knobs, for example, CPU frequency and the Quality-of-Data (QoD) to handle highly unpredictable workloads in multicore systems. Experimental results, using actual implementation, show that the proposed approach achieves the target Quality-of-Service (QoS) goals, such as task timeliness and Quality-of-Data (QoD) while consuming less energy compared to baseline approaches.

Abstract Background: Visual feedback from the center of pressure (COP) on the benefits of standing quietly remains controversial. The study was to investigate the adaptive effect of COP real-time visual feedback training provided by smart wearable devices on standing in silence. Methods: Thirty healthy female college students were randomly divided into three groups (visual feedback balance training group (VFT), non-visual feedback balance training group (NVFT) and control group (CG)) .Two force plates were used to calculate the coordinates of COP anteroposterior (COPAP) and COP mediolateral (COPML).The motion analysis system is used to calculate the coordinates of the center of mass in two directions. Enhanced visual feedback on the screen in the form of fluctuating in different directions, VFT received real-time visual feedback from Podoon APP for training, the NVFT only performs open eye balance without receiving real-time visual feedback. The CG group did not receive any visual feedback. The training lasted 4 weeks, the training lasts 30 minutes at an interval of 1 days. Results: After four weeks of balance training, the results showed that visual feedback training can improve the stability of human posture control by one leg stance and tandem stance static balance training on VFT intelligent App. The parameters of COPML/AP max displacement, COPML/AP velocity and COP radius and COP area in the VFT were significantly increased (p<0.05).Conclusion: The conclusion shows that COP real-time visual feedback training provided by smart wearable devices can reduce postural sway better and improve body balance ability than general training when standing quietly.

Radio astronomy observatories with high throughput back end instruments require real-time data processing. While computing hardware continues to advance rapidly, development of real-time processing pipelines remains difficult and time-consuming, which can limit scientific productivity. Motivated by this, we have developed Bifrost: an open-source software framework for rapid pipeline development. (a) Bifrost combines a high-level Python interface with highly efficient reconfigurable data transport and a library of computing blocks for CPU and GPU processing. The framework is generalizable, but initially it emphasizes the needs of high-throughput radio astronomy pipelines, such as the ability to process data buffers as if they were continuous streams, the capacity to partition processing into distinct data sequences (e.g. separate observations), and the ability to extract specific intervals from buffered data. Computing blocks in the library are designed for applications such as interferometry, pulsar dedispersion and timing, and transient search pipelines. We describe the design and implementation of the Bifrost framework and demonstrate its use as the backbone in the correlation and beamforming back end of the Long Wavelength Array (LWA) station in the Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge, NM.

In hostile and non-accessible remote area, energy conservation plays vital role in the performance of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). Shorter life of battery operated sensors tends to lower lifespan of the WSN which further degrades the dense network performance. In this paper, we propose the modified solar aware LEACH for efficient routing in WSN to maximize the network lifespan. This proposed scheme uses real time solar meteorological data for the implementation of solar aware LEACH (sLEACH), advance solar aware LEACH (AsLEACH), improved solar aware LEACH (IS-LEACH).The proposed algorithm is simulated using MATLAB and performance is evaluated on the basis of data throughput, energy consumption and network lifetime which show improved performance than existing techniques.

This paper primarily is focusing on presenting the non-productive time overview and any kind of non-productive time that can be reduced by real-time data technology, real-time data transmission and visualization infrastructure which supports the processes of aggregation, transmission, and visualization; the example of multipurpose implementation and further innovation and improvements that can be made within the real-time data transmission and visualization, such as real-time reservoir footage calculation during geosteering and drill-time calculation to pick the formation tops and casing point; the challenges and limitation while using real-time data, such as VSAT and local network connectivity issue; and future target and improvement of real-time data usage especially to make an artifi cial intelligence system to predict the potential feature, such as formation or drilling problem while drilling. All of those stuff s could be found by literature study and direct professional experience while handling real-time data system. This technology will inspire the user to design their own solution for their operations. Despite the signifi cant advances on real-time data transmission and visualization, there is signifi cant room to fully use itspotential for advanced workfl ows and the usage of real-time data technology which was proven to reduce the Non-Productive Time that could save the operational cost. We believe that the utilization of real-time data transmission and visualization will defi nitely increase the effi ciency of the drilling operations, especially for multiple wells operations.

The submitting of OPC (OLE for Process Control) has promoted the progress of the data collection in process control and industrial automation, and formulated the industry standard for the process real-time data exchange. Aiming at the key problem of ensuring the use of application program as OPC client to link multi-remote OPC server and real-time collect process data in control system, OPC technology and the connection and access technology of multi-remote OPC server were introduced and analyzed in detail. This method has been successfully applied to develop the DCS I/O communication and control loop error test software, and provided better performance.

To solve the problem that the duration is too long when the change of the measuring process data of industrial real-time database appears slow, the double compression algorithm with linear interpolation of dynamic threshold is advanced. Good compression quality and reduction effect of process data is accessed. The compression and fitting times are less than 1ms, and the compression ratio is 6:1 on the 6000 real-time data compression. The compression time is short, and the compression ratio is high. The fitting error between each fitted value and the original value is within the threshold 1.0. The comprehensive performance is better than SLIM and Swinging Door compression algorithm.
