LetSbe a convex, weakly compact subset of a locally convex Hausdorff space(E,τ)andf:S→Ebe a continuous multifunction from its weak topologyωtoτ. letρbe a continuous seminorm on(E,τ)and for subsetsA,BofEletp(A,B)=inf{p(x−y):x ϵ A, y ϵ B}. In this paper, sufficient conditions are developed for the existence of anx ϵ Ssatisfyingp(x,fx)=p(fx,S). The result is then used to prove several fixed point theorems.

We present new fixed point theorems for multivalued [Formula: see text]-admissible maps acting on locally convex topological vector spaces. The considered multivalued maps need not be compact. We merely assume that they are weakly compact and map weakly compact sets into relatively compact sets. Our fixed point results are obtained under Schauder, Leray–Schauder and Furi-Pera type conditions. These results are useful in applications and extend earlier works.

Hasegawa, Kawasaki and Kobayashi [Fixed point theorems for contractively widely more generalized hybrid mappings in metric spaces, to appear in Linear and Nonlinear Anal.] introduced the concept of contractively widely more generalized hybrid mappings in a metric space. On the other hand, Bogin [A generalization of a fixed point theorem of Goebel, Kirk and Shimi, Canad. Math. Bull. 19 (1976) 7–12] showed a fixed point theorem. However, Bogin’s result is not included in our results. In this paper, we consider new sufficient conditions as to cover the Bogin’s fixed point theorem for contractively widely more generalized hybrid mappings to have a fixed point.

In this paper, a general fixed point theorem for two pairs of weakly compatible mappings satisfying a - implicit relation different from the type from [16] is proved. As applications, we obtain the sufficient conditions for the existence of fixed points for a sequence of mappings in partial metric spaces.

AbstractLet (E, T) be a Hausdorff topological vector space whose topological dual separates points of E, X be a non-empty weakly compact convex subset of E and W be the relative weak topology on X. If F: (X, W) → 2(E,T) is continuous (respectively, upper semi-continuous if £ is locally convex), approximation and fixed point theorems are obtained which generalize the corresponding results of Fan, Park, Reich and Sehgal-Singh-Smithson (respectively, Ha, Reich, Park, Browder and Fan) in several aspects.

AbstractLet X be a Hausdorff topological space. We consider various locally convex spaces of continuous real valued functions on X and give necessary and sufficient conditions in order that (i) they contain an absolutely convex weakly compact total subset and (ii) they contain an absolutely convex total subset which is an Eberlein compact, when given the weak topology.

Cain and Nashed generalized to locally convex spaces a well known fixed point theorem of Krasnoselskii for a sum of contraction and compact mappings in Banach spaces. The class of asymptotically nonexpansive mappings includes properly the class of nonexpansive mappings as well as the class of contraction mappings. In this paper, we prove by using the same method some results concerning the existence of fixed points for a sum of nonexpansive and continuous mappings and also a sum of asymptotically nonexpansive and continuous mappings in locally convex spaces. These results extend a result of Cain and Nashed.

In this paper, there are   new considerations about the dual of a modular spaces and weak convergence. Two common fixed point theorems for a -non-expansive mapping defined on a star-shaped weakly compact subset are proved,  Here the conditions of affineness, demi-closedness and Opial's property play an active role in the proving our results.

This work concerns the study of the controllability for some impulsive partial functional integrodifferential equation with infinite delay in Banach spaces. We give sufficient conditions that ensure the controllability of the system by supposing that its undelayed part admits a resolvent operator in the sense of Grimmer, and by making use of the measure of noncompactness and the Mönch fixed-point Theorem. As a result, we obtain a generalization of the work of K. Balachandran and R. Sakthivel (Journal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 255, 447-457, (2001)) and a host of important results in the literature, without assuming the compactness of the resolvent operator. An example is given for illustration.

Motivated by a problem concerning multi-valued mappings posed by Reich [S. Reich, Some fixed point problems, Atti Accad. Naz. Lincei Rend. Cl. Sci. Fis. Mat. Natur. 57 (1974) 194-198] and a paper of Jleli and Samet [M. Jleli, B. Samet, A new generalization of the Banach contraction principle, J. Inequal. Appl. 2014:38 (2014) 1-8], we consider a new class of multi-valued mappings that satisfy a ?-contractive condition in complete metric spaces and prove some fixed point theorems. These results generalize Reich?s and Mizoguchi-Takahashi?s fixed point theorems. Some examples are given to show the usability of the obtained results.

Abstract In this paper, we consider the existence of multiple positive solutions for the 2𝑛th order 𝑚-point boundary value problem: where (0,1), 0 < ξ 1 < ξ 2 < ⋯ < ξ 𝑚–2 < 1. Using the Leggett–Williams fixed point theorem, we provide sufficient conditions for the existence of at least three positive solutions to the above boundary value problem. The associated Green's function for the above problem is also given.
