Understanding the contributions that the laboratory can make in product/process development, process improvement, market surveil lance and general business is key to the pharmaceutical business today. Poor laboratory practice yields compliance issues, increased cost, increased cycle time and delayed product introductions. За результатами аналізу відповідей студентів з Європейськогопростору вищої освіти було з’ясовано думку респондентів щодо місця таролі держави у забезпеченні контролю за якістю надання освітніх послугзакладом вищої освіти. Розглянуто особливості взаємовідносинінституту держави та інституції університету в контекстізабезпечення якості вищої освіти. Крім того, в статті обґрунтованонапрями вдосконалення змісту та практики використання механізмівдержавного управління якістю вищої освіти, а також визначенопріоритети використання суб’єктами державного управління окремихметодів впливу на систему забезпечення якості вищої освіти в Україні. Basing on the results of survey of answers of students from the Europeanhigher education space, there was determined an opinion of respondents as fora place and role of state in provision quality control of educational services ofhigher educational institutes. The features of the relationship between theInstitute of state and the institutes of the University in the context of provisionof higher education quality. In addition, the article substantiates the directionsof improving the content and practice of usage of mechanisms of statemanagement of the higher education quality, as well as determined thepriorities for the subjects of public administration to use certain methods ofinfluence on the system of quality assurance of higher education in Ukraine.

Background: Participation in External Quality Assessment (EQA) program with practice of Internal Quality Control (IQC) is the excellent indicator of good laboratory practice (GLP) to assure quality services. EQA is an essential component of Quality Assurance to assess the analytical performance compared within same methods of other laboratories.  It is also important to detect equipments failure, identifying reagent problems, reviewing staff training as well as to initiate and evaluate corrective action timely.Methods: This is descriptive analysis of the feedback received from EQAS body for twenty routine biochemical parameters which are most commonly performed in the Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory of Dhulikhel Hospital. Variation Index Score (VIS), Overall Mean VIS (OMVIS) and Standard Deviation Index (SDI) of all parameters for the year 2014 and 2015 were analyzed statistically.Results: On the analysis of twenty routine biochemical parameters regularly participated in EQAS, over all mean variation index score (OMVIS) of individual tests found 55%, 30% and 15% under good, very good and satisfactory category respectively.Conclusion: Participation and periodic evaluation of EQAS indicators along with practice of internal quality control has been galvanizing good laboratory practice and scientifically it boost up quality service in clinical laboratories.

Implementation of a Quality Assurance (QA) program in geological investigation is very significant and essential, especially when the investigation is carried out for selection and evaluation of strategic and vital project sites. The current work is a case study for selection and evaluation of a strategic site in Iraq where a QA program was implemented for the first time in the Iraq Geological Survey (as a Contractor) as a mandatory condition implied by the Client for all work carried out and included in the geological investigation. The geological investigation included six main activities: 1) geology, 2) hydrogeology, 3) geophysics, 4) engineering geology, 5) drilling and 6) laboratory work. The main roles of QA staff were to: 1) check the qualifications of all staff members involved in the six activities, 2) verify work procedures by means of which the staff members of each activity were performing their tasks, 3) follow-up all carried out works in the field, laboratory and office, 4) verify all types of work outputs by the staff members of the six activities, and 5) recognize any nonconformance in any type of carried out work before been recognized by the QA and/ or Quality Control (QC) staff of the Client. During the performance of the contract that lasted for 30 months, three nonconformance cases by the Contractor were recognized by the QA staff members and relevant corrective actions were performed. The three cases were not detected or recognized by the QA and QC staff members of the Client.

Abstract LINAC is a radiotherapy instrument used to kill tumor and cancer cells in patients. To guarantee the quality of LINAC instruments, QA (Quality Assurance) is needed and to prove the quality assurance there is a need for QC (Quality Control). This is done also aims to examine and test data to determine standards and check the suitability of products to achieve maximum manufacturing operations or measures taken, namely to assess, maintain or improve the quality of treatment given. The role of medical physicists is very important because only medical physicists carry out the implementation of quality assurance of radiotherapy instruments. Keywords: Radiotherapy, Linear Accelerator, Quality Assurance, Quality Control AbstrakLINAC adalah instrumen radioterapi yang digunakan untuk mematikan sel tumor maupun kanker pada pasien. Untuk menjamin kualitas instrumen LINAC, maka diperlukan QA (Quality Assurance) dan untuk membuktikan adanya jaminan kualitas perlu QC (Quality Control). Hal ini dilakukan juga bertujuan untuk memeriksa dan menguji data untuk menentukan standar dan mengecek kesesuaian produk mencapai operasi manufaktur yang maksimum atau ukuran yang diambil yaitu untuk menilai, merawat atau memperbaiki kualitas perlakuan yang diberikan. Peran fisikawan medis sangat penting karena hanya fisikawan medis yang menjalankan pelaksanaan jaminan kualitas instrumen radioterapi. Kata kunci: Radioterapi, Linear Accelerator, Quality Assurance, Quality Control
