In terms of movement, mobile robots are equipped with various navigation techniques. One of the navigation techniques used is facial pattern recognition. But Mobile robot hardware usually uses embedded platforms which have limited resources. In this study, a new navigation technique is proposed by combining a face detection system with a ram-based artificial neural network. This technique will divide the face detection area into five frame areas, namely top, bottom, right, left, and neutral. In this technique, the face detection area is divided into five frame areas, namely top, bottom, right, left, and neutral. The value of each detection area will be grouped into the ram discriminator. Then a training and testing process will be carried out to determine which detection value is closest to the true value, which value will be compared with the output value in the output pattern so that the winning discriminator is obtained which is used as the navigation value. In testing 63 face samples for the Upper and Lower frame areas, resulting in an accuracy rate of 95%, then for the Right and Left frame areas, the resulting accuracy rate is 93%. In the process of testing the ram-based neural network algorithm pattern, the efficiency of memory capacity in ram, the discriminator is 50%, assuming a 16-bit input pattern to 8 bits. While the execution time of the input vector until the winner of the class is under milliseconds (ms).

This research discusses about face detection and face recognition in an image. Face detection has only two classifications, i.e face and not face. Face recognition is compatible with some classifications of a number individuals who want to be recognized. Face detection and face recognition in thi study using Haar-Like Feature method and Artificial Neural Network Backpropagation. A method Haar-Like Feature used for detection and extraction in an image, because the clasification on this method showed success at used to detect image of the face. Artificial Neural Network Backpropagation is a training algorithm that is used to do training simulated on facial image data training stored in a database. This study uses Ms. Excel 2007 as database with 10 individual sample image, every image in each individuals having three distance with every range has four defferent light intensities, so that the data training stored in the database reached 120 data training. The results shows that the face detection and face recognition which is developed can recognize a face image with an average accuracy rate reaches 80,8% for each distance.

In order to achieve high speed and high reliability of face detection system, a feature-based template-matching algorithm to detect a key part between the two eyes used. The method is achieved through divided a filter into six rectangular. The face detection process adopts the “integral image” theory. Just calculating the information of around the eyes, eyebrows, and nose area, aspect ratio of the value of the SSR filter is set to 2.22:1 through the experimental which improved the SSR algorithm. Using the advantages of gray-level information, it has better reliability on the changes in light conditions. The experiment result shows that the accuracy rate of the standard frontal face detection is 95%; to monitoring images, the accuracy rate of the “eyes - human face” window location detection is 90%

Abstract The fundamental aim of this research is to develop a face detection system for a quadcopter in order to follow the face object. This research has two main stages, namely the face detection stage and the position control system. The face detection algorithm used in this research is the haar cascade method which is run using the python and OpenCV programming languages. The algorithm worked well, getting around 16fps on a low spec computer without a GPU unit. The results of the face detection algorithm are proven to be able to recognize faces from the camera installed on the DJI Tello mini drone. The mini drone was chosen because it is small and light, so it is harmless, and testing can be carried out indoors. Besides, the DJI Tello can be programmed easily using the python programming language. The drone’s position is then compared with the set point in the middle of the image to obtain errors so that control signals can be calculated for up/down, forward/backward, and right/left movements. From the testing results, the response speed that occurs in the right/left and up/down movements is less than 2 seconds, while for the forward/backward movement, it is less than 3 seconds.

Face detection is the key point in automatic face recognition system. This paper introduces the face detection algorithm with a cascade of Adaboost classifiers and how to configure OpenCV in MCVS. Using OpenCV realized the face detection. And a detailed analysis of the face detection results is presented. Through experiment, we found that the method used in this article has a high accuracy rate and better real-time.

In this proposed embedded car security system, FDS(Face Detection System) is used to detect the face of the driver and compare it with the predefined face. For example, in the night when the car’s owner is sleeping and someone theft the car then FDS obtains images by one tiny web camera which can be hidden easily in somewhere in the car. FDS compares the obtained image with the predefined images if the image doesn’t match, then the information is sent to the owner through MMS. So now owner can obtain the image of the thief in his mobile as well as he can trace the location through GPS. The location of the car as well as its speed can be displayed to the owner through SMS. So by using this system, owner can identify the thief image as well as the location of the car This system prototype is built on the base of one embedded platform in which one SoC named “SEP4020”(works at 100MHz) controls all the processes .Experimental results illuminate the validity of this car security system.

Bus is one of public transportation and as the most preferable by Indonesian to support their mobility. The high number of bus traffics then demands the bus management to provide the maximum service for their passenger, in order to gain public trust. Unfortunately, in the reality passenger list’s fraud is often faced by the bus management, there is a mismatch list between the amount of deposits made by bus driver and the number of passengers carried by the bus, and as the result it caused big loss for the Bus management. Automatic Passenger Counting (APC) then as an artificial intelligence program that is considered to cope with the bus management problems. This research carried out an APC technology based on passenger face detection using the Viola-Jones method, which is integrated with an embedded system based on the Internet of Things in the processing and data transmission. To detect passenger images, a webcam is provided that is connected to the Raspberry pi which is then sent to the server via the Internet to be displayed on the website provided. The system database will be updated within a certain period of time, or according to the stop of the bus (the system can be adjusted according to management needs). The system will calculate the number of passengers automatically; the bus management can export passenger data whenever as they want. There are 3 main points in the architecture of modeling system, they are information system design, device architecture design, and face detection mechanism design to calculate the number of passengers. A system design test is carried out to assess the suitability of the system being built with company needs. Then, based on the questionnaire distributed to the respondent, averagely 85.12 % claim that the Face detection system is suitability. The score attained from 4 main aspects including interactivity, aesthetics, layout and personalization

In response to the need for an exoskeleton to quickly identify the wearer’s movement mode in the mixed control mode, this paper studies the impact of different feature parameters of the surface electromyography (sEMG) signal on the accuracy of human motion pattern recognition using multilayer perceptrons and long short-term memory (LSTM) neural networks. The sEMG signals are extracted from the seven common human motion patterns in daily life, and the time domain and frequency domain features are extracted to build a feature parameter dataset for training the classifier. Recognition of human lower extremity movement patterns based on multilayer perceptrons and the LSTM neural network were carried out, and the final recognition accuracy rates of different feature parameters and different classifier model parameters were compared in the process of establishing the dataset. The experimental results show that the best accuracy rate of human motion pattern recognition using multilayer perceptrons is 95.53%, and the best accuracy rate of human motion pattern recognition using the LSTM neural network is 96.57%.

Sense disambiguation is an important problem in pattern recognition. In this paper, a new algorithm of sense disambiguation is proposed, in which part-of-speech tags of the left word and the right word around the ambiguous word are extracted as discriminative features. At the same time, the bayesian model is selected as the sense disambiguation classifier and it is built based on discriminative features. The architecture of sense classification is given. The new algorithm is trained on sense-annotated corpus. Then it is used to determine its sense category. Experimental results show that the accuracy rate of disambiguation arrives at 60%.
