This paper introduces the basic concepts and main characteristics of parallel self-organizing networks and analyzes and predicts parallel self-organizing networks through neural networks and their hybrid models. First, we train and describe the law and development trend of the parallel self-organizing network through historical data of the parallel self-organizing network and then use the discovered law to predict the performance of the new data and compare it with its true value. Second, this paper takes the prediction and application of chaotic parallel self-organizing networks as the main research line and neural networks as the main research method. Based on the summary and analysis of traditional neural networks, it jumps out of inertial thinking and first proposes phase space. Reconstruction parameters and neural network structure parameters are unified and optimized, and then, the idea of dividing the phase space into multiple subspaces is proposed. The multi-neural network method is adopted to track and predict the local trajectory of the chaotic attractor in the subspace with high precision to improve overall forecasting performance. During the experiment, short-term and longer-term prediction experiments were performed on the chaotic parallel self-organizing network. The results show that not only the accuracy of the simulation results is greatly improved but also the prediction performance of the real data observed in reality is also greatly improved. When predicting the parallel self-organizing network, the minimum error of the self-organizing difference model is 0.3691, and the minimum error of the self-organizing autoregressive neural network is 0.008, and neural network minimum error is 0.0081. In the parallel self-organizing network prediction of sports event scores, the errors of the above models are 0.0174, 0.0081, 0.0135, and 0.0381, respectively.

ObjectivesTo assess the performance of statistical methods used to compare the effectiveness between drugs in an observational setting in the presence of attrition.MethodsIn this simulation study, we compared the estimations of low disease activity (LDA) at 1 year produced by complete case analysis (CC), last observation carried forward (LOCF), LUNDEX, non-responder imputation (NRI), inverse probability weighting (IPW) and multiple imputations of the outcome. All methods were adjusted for confounders. The reasons to stop the treatments were included in the multiple imputation method (confounder-adjusted response rate with attrition correction, CARRAC) and were either included (IPW2) or not (IPW1) in the IPW method. A realistic simulation data set was generated from a real-world data collection. The amount of missing data caused by attrition and its dependence on the ‘true’ value of the data missing were varied to assess the robustness of each method to these changes.ResultsLUNDEX and NRI strongly underestimated the absolute LDA difference between two treatments, and their estimates were highly sensitive to the amount of attrition. IPW1 and CC overestimated the absolute LDA difference between the two treatments and the overestimation increased with increasing attrition or when missingness depended on disease activity at 1 year. IPW2 and CARRAC produced unbiased estimations, but IPW2 had a greater sensitivity to the missing pattern of data and the amount of attrition than CARRAC.ConclusionsOnly multiple imputation and IPW2, which considered both confounding and treatment cessation reasons, produced accurate comparative effectiveness estimates.

To determine the origin and the processes of groundwater mineralization in the Mbeubeuss lake area, the major ion concentrations of the groundwater were compared to those of the rainwaters which constitute the input function of the aquifer of the Quaternary sands in the area of lake Mbeubeuss. The physico-chemistry of groundwater near the public discharge and its surroundings, has shown that the true value of the electrical conductivity of waters are around 2000 µS/cm. Values of electrical conductivity greater than 2000 µS/cm would represent the particular mineralization of ground waters by the public discharge of lake Mbeubeuss. The chemical facies of ground waters are dominated by the sodium and potassium chloride and calcium chloride facies. The study of the relationship between the major chemical elements and the chloride ion and the representation in the modified Chadha diagram of the chemical analyzes of ground waters from the campaigns of July 1998, July 2002 and March 2003, made it possible to highlight the different sources and processes controlling the mineralization of ground waters in the Mbeubeuss Lake area. Despite the proximity to the sea which suggests a considerable contribution of salts by aerosols and sea spray, the mineralization of ground waters in the area of lake Mbeubeuss is largely due to leachate from household waste and the influence of old sediments of the dry lake Mbeubeuss. The main processes controlling the mineralization of ground waters are marine contributions (aerosols and sea spray), dissolution-precipitation of minerals from the aquifer matrix, atmospheric CO2 diffusion, base exchanges, dilution-concentration and anthropogenic pollution.

The purpose of this review is to explore factors affecting brand building in libraries. Based on the nine steps of the National Health Service (NHS) center for reviews and dissemination, articles on the subject of library branding were searched in nine Iranian databases and seven international databases. The search period includes all date range of databases until 7–22 January 2021. The results were assessed for quality and 44 English articles and 3 Persian articles were selected for further analysis. Factors in promoting libraries brand building fall five categories. They include library architecture, library information resources and services, librarians’ personal branding, marketing, and library management. Inhibiting factors in libraries brand building have two final categories including internal and external inhibiting factors to brand building. Internal inhibitors covered branding costs, lead-time for branding, effort for branding and its management, the difficulty of strategic brand planning, and library staff unpreparedness. External inhibitors covered the difficulties of branding in the digital age and the economic situation of the country. If libraries manage their brand and move toward rebranding in line with the new information environment, they will be able to survive in today’s competitive world and build their true value in relationship with users.

Background: The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has highlighted an urgent need to use infection testing databases to rapidly estimate effectiveness of prior infection in preventing reinfection (PES) by novel variants of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Methods: Mathematical modeling was used to demonstrate the applicability of the test-negative, case-control study design to derive PES. Modeling was also used to investigate effects of bias in PES estimation. The test-negative design was applied to national-level testing data in Qatar to estimate PES for SARS-CoV-2 infection and to validate this design. Results: Apart from the very early phase of an epidemic, the difference between the test-negative estimate for PES and the true value of PES was minimal and became negligible as the epidemic progressed. The test-negative design provided robust estimation of PES even when PES began to wane after prior infection. Assuming that only 25% of prior infections are documented, misclassification of prior infection status underestimated PES, but the underestimate was considerable only when >50% of the population was ever infected. Misclassification of latent infection, misclassification of current active infection, and scale-up of vaccination all resulted in negligible bias in estimated PES. PES against SARS-CoV-2 Alpha and Beta variants was estimated at 97.0% (95% CI: 93.6-98.6) and 85.5% (95% CI: 82.4-88.1), respectively. These estimates were validated using a cohort study design. Conclusions: The test-negative design offers a feasible, robust method to estimate protection from prior infection in preventing reinfection.

Cyberchondria refers to the state of performing repeated and excessive health-related searches on the internet leading to elevated levels of distress or health anxiety. It may have unpleasant consequences such as heightened anxiety, overwhelming information load, and troubled patient-physician relationship. To overcome the negative effects of cyberchondria, several strategies were suggested in the literature. In this chapter, enhancing digital and health literacy skills is presented as an important approach for tackling with undesirable effects of excessive health-related internet use. Basic dimensions of digital literacy are pointed out, as well as digital literacy skills. Health literacy is defined and reviewed in digital literacy framework. E-health literacy is associated with digital literacy. Searching the internet for medical information would deliver its true value through improved digital and health literacy skills. Individuals would accurately evaluate online health information, properly interpret the search results, and take the reasonable steps in applying the acquired knowledge.

Abstract The water snowline location in protostellar envelopes provides crucial information about the thermal structure and the mass accretion process as it can inform about the occurrence of recent (≲1000 yr) accretion bursts. In addition, the ability to image water emission makes these sources excellent laboratories to test indirect snowline tracers such as H13CO+. We study the water snowline in five protostellar envelopes in Perseus using a suite of molecular-line observations taken with the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) at ∼0.″2−0.″7 (60–210 au) resolution. B1-c provides a textbook example of compact H 2 18 O (31,3−22,0) and HDO (31,2−22,1) emission surrounded by a ring of H13CO+ (J = 2−1) and HC18O+ (J = 3−2). Compact HDO surrounded by H13CO+ is also detected toward B1-bS. The optically thick main isotopologue HCO+ is not suited to trace the snowline, and HC18O+ is a better tracer than H13CO+ due to a lower contribution from the outer envelope. However, because a detailed analysis is needed to derive a snowline location from H13CO+ or HC18O+ emission, their true value as a snowline tracer will lie in the application in sources where water cannot be readily detected. For protostellar envelopes, the most straightforward way to locate the water snowline is through observations of H 2 18 O or HDO. Including all subarcsecond-resolution water observations from the literature, we derive an average burst interval of ∼10,000 yr, but high-resolution water observations of a larger number of protostars are required to better constrain the burst frequency.

This work reported the discovery of N-triflimide (NTf)-based zwitter-ionic liquids (ZILs) that exhibit UCST-type phase transitions in water, and their further structural optimization in fine-tuning polarity to ultimately afford newfangled thermosensitive materials carrying attractive and biocompatible Tc values that clearly demonstrated the true value of the tunability of ZIL structure. This research established that with non-aromatic, acyclic ZILs as small-molecule thermoresponsive materials, their mixing and de-mixing with water triggered by temperatures are entirely reversible.

Abstract Objective: This study considers the error distributions for time-integrated activity (TIA) of single-time-point (STP) methods for patient-specific dosimetry in radionuclide therapy. Approach: The general case with the same pharmaceutical labelled with different radionuclides for imaging and therapy are considered for a mono-exponential time-activity curve. Two methods for STP dosimetry, both based on the combination of one activity estimate with the population-mean effective decay constant, are investigated. The cumulative distribution functions (CDFs) and the probability density functions for the two methods are analytically derived for arbitrary distributions of the biological decay constant. The CDFs are used for determining 95 % coverage intervals of the relative errors for different combinations of imaging time points, physical decay constants, and relative standard deviations of the biological decay constant. Two examples, in the form of kidney dosimetry in [177Lu]Lu-DOTA-TATE therapy and tumour dosimetry for Na[131I]I therapy for thyroid cancer with dosimetry based on imaging of Na[124I]I, are also studied in more detail with analysis of the sensitivity with respect to errors in the mean biological decay constant and to higher moments of the distribution. Main results: The distributions of the relative errors are negatively skewed, potentially leading to the situation that some TIA estimates are highly underestimated even if the majority of estimates are close to the true value. Significance: The main limitation of the studied STP dosimetry methods is thereby the risk of large underestimations of the TIA.

The article is dedicated to the (still relatively unknown) EU Regulation 2016/1191. The Regulation disposes of some of the formalities with respect to circulation of the public documents within EU. In particular, no legalization in any form, including the apostille under the Hague Convention, will be needed with respect to documents covered by the Regulation. Unliked originally planned by the Commission, the Regulation does not, unfortunately, completes a more challenging goal of mandating recognition of the civil status throughout the Union. This issue still remains subject to national conflict-of-law rules. Moreover, the scope of Regulation is relatively narrow. It does not, again regrettably, apply to many public documents which are crucial in cross-border transactions (excerpts from commercial registers, powers of attorney for sale of immovable property). The author analyses to what extent Regulation 2016/1191 offers progress in circulation of documents. This question is first raised in light of the long standing application of the Hague Apostille Convention. The author then attempts to discern the effective role of the Regulation given the fact that under Article 1138 of the Polish Code of Civil Procedure, no legalization in any form is in principle required for the foreign public documents to be treated as authentic and official proof in Poland (although the practice often is to ask for the apostille even if not required by law). Still, the Regulation 2016/1138 might come of assistance for the parties in some respects. First, it will facilitate acceptance of Polish public documents in those Member States, which have so far required apostille. Second, the Regulation may help to overcome an incorrect practice in Poland of requiring apostille by the officials, where Article 1138 actually dispenses of such formality. Third, the Regulation introduces an administrative cooperation based on the IMI system which allows to verify doubts as to the authenticity of the public document from another Member States. This last feature of the Regulation, it is argued, may prove of its true value to the freedom of circulation of public documents within the EU.
