<span>In this paper, the design of a speed control scheme based on a total sliding mode control for Indirect Field Oriented of a three phase induction motor (IM) is proposed. Firstly, the indirect field oriented control is derived. Then, sliding mode control design is investigated to achieve a speed tracking objective under different load torque disturbance. Finally a dSPACE DS1104 R&amp;D board is used to implement the proposed scheme. The experimental results released on 0.25 kW slip-ring IM show a high dynamic performance, fast transient response without overshot as well as a good load disturbances rejection response.</span>

Introduction: In this paper, a robust sliding mode controller is developed to control an orthosis used for rehabilitation of lower limb. Materials and Methods: The orthosis is defined as a mechanical device intended to physically assist a human subject for the realization of his movements. It should be adapted to the human morphology, interacting in harmony with its movements, and providing the necessary efforts along the limbs to which it is attached. Results: The application of the sliding mode control to the Shank-orthosis system shows satisfactory dynamic response and tracking performances. Conclusion: In fact, position tracking and speed tracking errors are very small. The sliding mode controller effectively absorbs disturbance and parametric variations, hence the efficiency and robustness of our applied control.

This paper presents a newly designed switching linear feedback structure of sliding mode control (SLF-SMC) plugged with an model reference adaptive system (MRAS) based sensorless field-oriented control (SFOC) for induction motor (IM). Indeed, the performance of the MRAS depends mainly on the operating point and the parametric variation of the IM. Hence, the sliding mode control (SMC) could be considered a good control alternative due to its easy implementation and robustness. Simulation and experimentation results are presented to show the superiority of the proposed SLF-SMC technique in comparison with the classical PI controller under different speed ranges and inertia conditions.
