Myctolaimus platypi sp. n. (Nematoda: Cylindrocorporidae) isolated from the oak borer, Platypus quercivorus (Coleoptera: Platypodidae)

Abstract Myctolaimus platypi sp. n. is described and figured. The third-stage dauer juveniles of M. platypi sp. n. were isolated from the underside of the elytra of the oak borer, Platypus quercivorus, and were reared on an Asparagine-Mannitol (A-M) agar. Specimens of adult nematodes for description and measurements were collected from a 2-week-old culture on A-M agar. The new species is characterised by having the stoma shorter than the pro-metacorpus, shape of the rounded-cylindroid pro-metacorpus, the obvious longitudinal striations on the cuticle, and thick cuticle. The male and female of the new species have a body length of ca 700-1000 μm, a value of ca 20, b value of ca 6, and c value of ca 10. Males of the new species have strongly arcuate, C-shaped spicules 71 (62-80) μm long, 29 (25-35) μm long gubernaculum with pointed distal end, and nine pairs of caudal papillae. There is no bursa. Ceratosolenus is proposed as a junior synonym of Myctolaimus and the following new combinations are also proposed: M. anoplophorae comb. n.; M. inevectus comb. n.; and M. racemosa comb. n.

Mononchoides andersoni n.sp., Koerneria terranovus n.sp., and Koerneria mulveyi n.sp. are described and illustrated from Canadian localities. Mononchoides andersoni n.sp. is characterized by a body length of 1066–1246 μm, a porelike vulva at 36–39%, a tail of 403–439 μm, c′ value of 22(20–26), and telostom base with two small subventral teeth. Koerneria terranovus n.sp. and Koerneria mulveyi n.sp. are unique amongst Koerneria species because of their large a values (53–68), which are at least twice those of other species. Koerneria terranovus females differ from K′. mulveyi by the narrower cheilostom aperture (30 vs. 50% of head width), greater length (1735–1771 μm vs. 1377–1678 μm), smaller c′ value of (11–12 vs. 14(10–18)), shorter cephalic setae (3–3.5 μm vs. 5–6 μm), and linear cheilorhabdions versus isoscheles triangle shaped cheilorhbdions in K′. mulveyi. The males of K. mulveyi have cephalic setae about one half the length of those in the female while the male and female of K. terranovus have cephalic setae of equal length, and the gubernaculum is longer (14 μm vs. 11 μm) in K. mulveyi. New combinations are proposed for species transferred from Mononchoides to Koerneria: K. angarensis (Gagarin, 1983) n.comb., K. ivanegae (Gagarin, 1983) n.comb., K. ruriculus (Gagarin, 1983) n.comb., and K. strenuus (Gagarin, 1983) n.comb. Mononchoides tsalolichini Gagarin and Lemsina (1983) is a lapsus calami for Fictor tsalolichini. Mononchoides aquaticus Dassonville and Heyns (1984) is transferred to Oigolaimella becoming O. aquatica n.comb. Mononchoides fictor (Bastian, 1865) Goodey, 1963 and Koerneria bicornis (Rahm, 1929) Goodey, 1963 are considered to be species inquirendae. Keys to the species of Mononchoides and Koerneria are provided.

Small populations of Laimydorus istvani sp. n., Laimydorus baldus Baqri & Jana, 1982 and Dorylaimus sp. were collected fromthe soil around the roots of guava at south 24-Parganas district, West Bengal, India. Laimydorus istvani sp. n. is characterizedby its odontostyle being distinctly thicker than the cuticle at the same level, cardia shape: rounded-conoid, wide at pharyngo-intestinal junction, enveloped by intestinal tissue which forms a conical projection extending into the lumen of intestine;delicate ring-like structure between the pharyngeal base and the proper cardia. Laimydorus istvani sp. n. comes close to L.multialaeus (Khera, 1970) Baqri, 1985, L. siddiqii Baqri & Jana, 1982 and L. baldus Baqri & Jana, 1982, but can bedistinguished from these species on the basis of different morphometric measurements. The new species differs from L.multialaeus in having higher a value, lower b value and longer odontostyle in females, and. longer body, lateral guiding piecesand tail in males. From L. siddiqii the new species differs in having a shorter tail in relation to body length, shorter cardia withdifferent shape, shorter prerectum and longer rectum in female, different number of ventromedian supplements and shorterspicules in males. From L. baldus, it differs in having a longer body, greater a-value, longer odontostyle and odontophore andlonger tail in females. Laimydorus istvani sp. n. differs from the males of L. baldus by its longer body, greater c value and in thenumber of ventromedian supplements. The population of L. baldus from West Bengal agrees well with the original descriptionexcept for some variations in body, odontophore, prerectum and tail length. New data on male characters have been provided inthe present study. The specimens of Dorylaimus sp. come close to D. geraerti Baqri & Jana, 1986 except in some morphometricmeasurements including: b (4.2–5.1 vs. 4.3–4.7), odontophore length (33–54 μm vs. 40–43 μm, prerectum length in females(120–160 μm vs. 196–241 μm and tail length in females (247.5–294 μm vs. 249–406 μm). In males, the supplements (36 innumber) occur in a contiguous series (as is usually seen in the genus Dorylaimus Dujardin, 1845), whereas in the typespecimens of D. geraerti 35–38 supplements are largely contiguous except for a set of 4–5 spaced supplements in the middle of the series, showing a resemblance with the genus Ischiodorylaimus Andrássy, 1969.

<p><em>Physicochemical properties are one of the parameters of honey quality that impacts the sales of honey as well as the economy condition of the society in Ciwidey and Bogor. The physicochemical properties of honey are significantly influenced by the origin of the honey, including its geographical location and vegetation. This study aims to determine the physicochemical properties between multiflora honey from Ciwidey and Bogor with different source of nectar where Ciwidey honey is dominated by calliandra nectar while Bogor honey is dominated by kapok nectar. Data were analyzed with descriptive and quantitative method using independent t test for data with normal distribution (water content and reducing sugar content). Data that were not normally distributed (color analysis and acidity value) were tested non-parametrically with the Mann Whitney-U. The results showed that Bogor honey has the better physicochemical properties and meets Indonesian National Standard (Standar Nasional Indonesia, SNI) 8664:2018, with a water content of 15.15% w/w, L* values of 35.26, a* value of 28.66, b* value of 59.46, c* value of 66.01, h* value of 64.27°, reducing sugar content of 78.78% and acidity value of 35.56 mL NaOH kg-1. Phytochemical screening showed positive results on alkaloid, flavonoid, phenol and tannin, and the results of GC-MS analysis showed three significant compounds which are hydroxymethylfurfural of 48.26%, levoglucosan of 13.58% and ammonium carbamate of 9.18%.</em></p>

A new genus Burmanyctycia gen. n. is described for the new species Burmanyctycia naumanni sp. n. from Chin State in north-western Myanmar. The new genus is related to the genera Blepharomima Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998, Bryotypella Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998 and Charanyctycia Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998. Two new synonyms are established: Bryotypella = Paranyctycia Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998, syn. n. and Bryotypella = Parabole Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998, syn. n. Six new combinations are established: Bryotypella minima (Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1999), comb. n., Bryotypella miraculosa (Hreblay, Peregovits & L. Ronkay, 1999), comb. n., Bryotypella orbiculosa (Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998), comb. n., Bryotypella rubiculosa (Hreblay & Ronkay, 1999), comb. n., Bryotypella medionigra (Hreblay & Ronkay, 1998), comb. n. and Bryotypella rectilinea (Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998), comb. n. The check-lists of the genera Bryotypella and Charanyctycia are provided. Adults, male and female genitalia of the new and the related taxa are illustrated.

The genus Rubrocuneocoris Schuh is recognized from Vietnam for the first time, with a new species, R. vietnamensis n. sp.  The new species is described and documented with images of the habitus and male genitalic structures. Male and female genitalic structures are described for R. albescens Yasunaga. Species of Rubrocuneocoris described from Taiwan are herein transferred to Atractotomoidea Yasunaga and the following new combinations are accordingly proposed: Atractotomoidea falcis (Lin 2006) n. comb., A. maculosus (Lin 2006) n. comb., A. nodus (Lin 2006) n. comb., and A. trifidus (Lin 2006) n. comb. A revised checklist of Rubrocuneocoris is presented.

The Prabhasa Moore, 1878 genus-group is reviewed. The male and female genitalia of Prabhasa venosa Moore, 1878, the type species of the genus, are described and illustrated for the first time. Two new genera, Macohasa Dubatolov, Volynkin & Kishida, gen. nov. and Chinasa Dubatolov, Volynkin & Kishida, gen. nov. and two new species, Macohasa cernyi Dubatolov, Volynkin & Kishida, sp. nov. and Chinasa sapa Dubatolov, Volynkin & Kishida, sp. nov. are described for Prabhasa venosa sensu authors. Seven new combinations are established: Zadadra plumbeomicans (Hampson, 1894), comb. nov., Zadadra monastyrskyi (Dubatolov, 2012), comb. nov., Macohasa orientalis (Hampson, 1905), comb. nov., Macohasa tetraspila (Černý, 2009), comb. nov., Macohasa dimorpha (Hampson, 1918), comb. nov., Chinasa costalis costalis (Moore, 1878), comb. nov. and Chinasa costalis bicoloriceps (Strand, 1916), comb. nov.

Abstract The Barsine perpallida-B. yuennanensis species-group is reviewed. Six new species, B. biformis Volynkin & Černý, sp. nov. (North Thailand and North Vietnam), B. laszloi Volynkin & Černý, sp. nov. (Nepal), B. hausmanni Volynkin & Černý, sp. nov. (North Thailand), B. andromeda Volynkin, Černý & Huang, sp. nov. (China: Shaanxi and Sichuan), B. eurydice Volynkin & Černý, sp. nov. (North Vietnam), and B. dao Volynkin, Černý & Huang, sp. nov. (North Vietnam and China: Yunnan), are described. All species treated are subdivided into five subgroups: B. biformis, B. perpallida, B. flavicollis, B. hausmanni, and B. yuennanensis subgroups. Four new combinations are established: Barsine hololeuca (Hampson, 1895), comb. nov., B. ruficollis (Fang, 1991), comb. nov., Barsine nigrovena (Fang, 2000), comb. nov. (all three from Miltochrista Hübner, [1819]), and B. flavicollis (Moore, 1878), comb. nov. (from Mahavira Moore, 1878). A lectotype for Mahavira flavicollis Moore, 1878 is designated. One new synonymy is established: B. perpallida (Hampson, 1900) = Diacrisia porthesioides Rothschild, 1910, syn. nov. Adults, male and female genitalia of all species are illustrated.

In the present paper, two new genera of the Prabhasa Moore, 1878 / Zadadra Moore, 1878 generic complex are described: Dentadra gen. nov. (Type species: Prabhasa flavicosta Moore, 1878) and Prabadra gen. nov. (Type species: Prabadra occidentalis sp. nov.). Additionally, two new species are described: Prabadra occidentalis sp. nov. (NE India and N Thailand) and Zadadra confusa sp. nov. (Nepal, NE India, Bhutan and W China). The new synonymy is established: Zadadra distorta Moore, 1872 = Zadadra neodistorta Joshi, Kirti & N. Singh, 2015, syn. nov. Two new combinations are established: Dentadra flavicosta (Moore, 1878), comb. nov. and Prabadra monastyrskii (Dubatolov, 2012), comb. nov. The lectotype is designated for Lithosia distorta Moore, 1872. Adults, male and female genitalia are illustrated. A checklist of the Prabhasa / Zadadra generic complex is provided.

Based on DNA barcodes (cytochrome oxidase subunit I sequences) of Lachlania specimens from Atlantic Forest and Cerrado of Brazil, eight lineages were delimited through DNA barcoding and imagoes and immature stages were associated. Among these lineages, two new species are described, Lachlania alcidesi sp. nov. and Lachlania aldinae sp. nov., from State of Espírito Santo. The former species based on nymph, male, and female imagoes, and the latter based on nymph and female imagoes. The main characteristics used to distinguish female imagoes of the new species from those of known species of the genus are: 1) body length; 2) head coloration; 3) number of cross veins on forewing; 4) coloration of caudal filaments; 5) relation between length from point of origin of IMP to margin and total length of MA2- MP1 of forewing.

Ctenodontina Enderlein is reported for the first time in Argentina. A new species, C. sagta sp. nov. (Argentina, Salta) is described. New combination is Ctenodontina baleta (Walker), comb. nov. with two synonimies: Pachychoeta caracasae Martin syn. nov. and Pachychoeta inca Martin syn. nov. The male and female terminalia of C. baleta (Walker). comb. nov. is illustrated and described for the first time and a key to species is presented.
