Phellinocis gen. n. is described based on three species: P. romualdoi sp. n. (type species) from Brazil, P. erwini sp. n. from Panama and P. thayerae sp. n. from Costa Rica and Panama. Diagnostic characters of the genus include the oblong, highly convex, subglabrous body, strongly declined, convex to slightly concave and often fluted elytral apices, 8or 9-segmented antennae, short and concave prosternum, laminate prosternal process, and protibia with simple outer edge and two stout teeth at apex. Phellinocis romualdoi has two features not found in any other described species of Ciidae: intraspecific variation in antennal segmentation and presence of a setal patch on the first ventrite of the female. Comparisons are made with a number of other ciid genera, and the genus is placed in the tribe Ciini. A key to species of Phellinocis is provided, together with descriptions of external morphology of adults, and morphology of male genitalia.

Neoapterocis gen. nov. is described based on two species: Neoapterocis mexicanus sp. nov. (type species) from the state of Oaxaca (Mexico); and Neoapterocis chilensis sp. nov. from Concepción Province (VIII Biobío Region), Chile. Diagnostic characters of the genus include the distinct oval, highly convex body, small eyes and scutellum, absence of hind wings, short prosternum and metaventrite, and first abdominal ventrite longer than the next two together. Comparisons are made with other apterous and micropterous ciid genera, particularly Apterocis Perkins, Lipopterocis Miyatake, Nipponapterocis Miyatake and Polynesicis Zimmerman. The new genus is placed in the tribe Ciini. A key to males of the species of Neoapterocis gen. nov. is provided, together with descriptions of external morphology of adults, morphology of male genitalia of both species and the female genitalia of Neo. mexicanus sp. nov. Neoapterocis gen. nov. is the first apterous ciid genus to be described from continental lands

The genus Concavetettix Deng, gen. nov. (type species: Concavetettix yunnanensis Deng, sp. nov.) is described from Daweishan, Pingbian County, Yunnan Province, China. The genus Macromotettix Günther, 1939 is reviewed. Three new species of the genus, M. microptera Deng, sp. nov., M. zhengi Deng, sp. nov. and M. brachyptera Deng, sp. nov. are described with detailed illustrations of external morphology. One new name is proposed: Macromotettix napoensis Deng, nom. nov.. Additionally, an updated key to species of the genus Macromotettix is given.

Sinojassus gen. nov. of tribe Iassini is described based on: two new species from China, S. loberus Dai, Zhang & Zhang sp. nov. (type species), S. aspinus Dai, Zhang & Zhang sp. nov.; one new species from China and Thailand, S. compressus Dai, Zhang & Zhang sp. nov.; and one new species from Vietnam, S. webbi Dai & Dietrich sp. nov. Detailed morphological descriptions, illustrations and a key to species are provided. The new genus resembles Coriojassus Evans, Hyalojassus Evans and Trocnadella Singh-Pruthi in the structure of the male genitalia. The style has an elongate apodeme and short apophysis, the connective is absent, and the aedeagus is simple, without processes, and connected to other parts of the genitalia by membranous ligaments. A key to Oriental genera of Iassini is also provided.

A new genus of Neotropical Lycidae, Currhaeus gen. nov., is herein proposed as the second Eurrhacini genus lacking parameres in male genitalia. Seven new species are described: Currhaeus striatus sp. nov., C. nigroapicalis sp. nov., C. championi sp. nov., C. tabascensis sp. nov., C. ruschii sp. nov., C. polegattoi sp. nov., and C. paranaensis sp. nov. Illustrations of diagnostic characters and a key to species identification are presented. Parsimony and maximum likelihood analyses of morphological data demonstrated that Currhaeus gen. nov. belongs in the crown Eurrhacini. Implied weighting parsimony trees recovered Currhaeus as sister to Eurrhacus Waterhouse.

Agrophaspidium gen. n. is described for six species: Agrophaspidium flavimana sp. n. (type locality: La Selva, Costa Rica); Agrophaspidium hastatum Duda, 1930, comb. n. (type locality: Suiza de Turrialba, Costa Rica); Agrophaspidium minutum sp. n. (type locality: Gatun Lake, near Colón, Panama); Agrophaspidium monticola sp. n. (type species of genus; type locality: Monteverde, Costa Rica); Agrophaspidium pollinosum sp. n. (type locality: Portachuelo Pass, Venezuela); and Agrophaspidium psilotum sp. n. (type locality: Guanacaste National Park, Costa Rica). Agrophaspidium is distinguished from other Oscinellinae by the combination of an anteromedial-posterolateral arrangement of the vertical bristles, a dorsally flattened scutellum with four elongate marginal projections bearing stout bristles, and characters of the male genitalia (enlarged epandrium, branched surstylus, enlarged and modified cercus). Although the phylogenetic relationships of species within Agrophaspidium are resolved by morphological characters, the generic relationships to other Oscinellinae are unresolved.

Bergiantina, a new Agaristinae genus, is described. The genus contains 8 species. Three were previously assigned to Aucula Walker: Metagarista hilzingeri Berg, Euthisanotia magnifica Schaus, and Aucula schausi Jörgensen. Two were previously assigned to Erocha Walker: Heterocampa dolens Druce and Erocha trita Druce. Three new species are described: Bergiantina intermedia, B. parva, and B. familiae. Bergiantina can be distinguished from other Agaristinae by its distinctive forewing pattern with white patches or stripes associated with the postmedial line. Other diagnostic characters include: male genitalia with moderately asymmetric valves, aedoeagus with an apical sclerotized horn-like dorsal projection, and female genitalia with a thin, membranous ductus bursae 3x as long as anterior apophysis. Adults and male and female genitalia are described and illustrated, and a key to species provided. One new synonymy is established and two lectotypes are designated.

A new genus and five new species of odiniids (Odiniidae: Traginopinae) are described from the Brazilian Amazon and Cerrado biomes: Inpauema mirador gen. nov. et sp. nov. (type species), I. catarinae sp. nov., I. gaimarii sp. nov., I. raimundoluizi sp. nov., and I. xavieri sp. nov. The genus is being characterized by a unique combination of diagnostic characters: body predominantly dark brown to black, with silvery-gray pruinose spots on inner margin of eyes, longitudinally along middle of lunule and face, on notopleuron and mesopleuron; postcranium concave from dorsal view; one pair of stout proclinate ocellar setae; postocellar setae absent; lunule shorter than frons; gena lacking upturned seta; antennae separated by a maximum distance of 2X the diameter of a single antennal socket and gonocoxal apodemes directed upward, forming an arch. A key to separate Helgreelia Gaimari, 2007 from Inpauema gen. nov. and for the new species is provided.

A new genus, Tikuna, is described based on recent collections of adults and nymphs of Choroterpes atramentum Traver from western Costa Rica. All recent collections are from streams on or near the Nicoya Complex, the oldest geological formation in Lower Central America. Tikuna belongs to a lineage of South American Atalophlebiinae (Leptophlebiidae: Ephemeroptera) whose origin is hypothesized to have been in the late Cretaceous–early Tertiary. Some implications of the distribution of Tikuna for theories on the origin of Costa Rica’s biota are discussed.

AbstractAhnea keejeongi Park and Carlton (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Pselaphinae), a new genus and new species of New Zealand endemic beetle belonging to the supertribe Faronitae is described. Six previously described species are included to this genus and four species are synonymised as follow: Sagola dissonans Broun, 1921 and S. planicula Broun, 1921 under Ahnea ventralis (Broun, 1912); S. carinata Broun, 1912 and S. lineiceps Broun, 1921 under Ahnea lineata (Broun, 1893). A key to species, habitus photographs, line drawings of diagnostic characters, and distribution maps are provided.
