Ranomafana pollocki sp. n. from Tamatave province, Madagascar, is described and illustrated; diverse generic morphological structures are provided; diagnostic features for this species are body colour and shape of accessory lobes in the male genitalia. This genus was known only from one specimen of the type species R. steineri Pollock, 1995.

One new Saliocleta (type-species nonagrioides Walker, 1862), S. puyak sp. n., and the female of S. notia Schintlmeister, 1997 are described from Northern Thailand. The male genitalia structure of Saliocleta is examined in detail.

We describe a new genus, Dishkeya Stonis, gen. nov., and a new species, Dishkeya gothica Diškus & Stonis, sp. nov., discovered feeding on Gouania lupuloides (L.) Urb., Rhamnaceae. We discuss the diagnostics of Tischeria Zeller and Dishkeya gen. nov.; the latter is characterized by the absence of a juxta, the presence of a pseudognathos, and well-developed carinae of the phallus in the male genitalia. We newly combine Tischeria bifurcata Braun and Tischeria gouaniae Stonis & Diškus with Dishkeya and designate the latter species as the type species of the new genus. All species treated in the paper are illustrated with drawings or photographs of the male genitalia.

AbstractLargocephalosaurus polycarpon Cheng et al. 2012a was erected after the study of the skull and some parts of a skeleton and considered to be an eosauropterygian. Here we describe a new species of the genus, Largocephalosaurus qianensis, based on three specimens. The new species provides many anatomical details which were described only briefly or not at all in the type species, and clearly indicates that Largocephalosaurus is a saurosphargid. It differs from the type species mainly in having three premaxillary teeth, a very short retroarticular process, a large pineal foramen, two sacral vertebrae, and elongated small granular osteoderms mixed with some large ones along the lateral most side of the body. With additional information from the new species, we revise the diagnosis and the phylogenetic relationships of Largocephalosaurus and clarify a set of diagnostic features for the Saurosphargidae Li et al. 2011. Largocephalosaurus is characterized primarily by an oval supratemporal fenestra, an elongate dorsal ‘rib-basket’, a narrow and elongate transverse process of the dorsal vertebrae, and the lack of a complete dorsal carapace of osteoderms. The Saurosphargidae is distinct mainly in having a retracted external naris, a jugal–squamosal contact, a large supratemporal extensively contacting the quadrate shaft, a leaf-like tooth crown with convex labial surface and concave lingual surface, a closed dorsal ‘rib-basket’, many dorsal osteoderms, a large boomerang-like or atypical T-shaped interclavicle. Current evidence suggests that the Saurosphargidae is the sister-group of the Sauropterygia and that Largocephalosaurus is the sister-group of the Saurosphargis–Sinosaurosphargis clade within the family.

Papagona Ball, 1935 was originally described based on two species from the USA (Arizona). Both species of Papagona (P. papoosa Ball, 1935, type species of genus, and P. succinea Ball, 1935) are redescribed herein based on type specimens, including their previously unknown internal male genitalia. A new species from Brazil (Roraima) is described herein including the male and female terminalia. A taxonomic key to all included species is provided and additional diagnostic characters for this genus are proposed.

The genus Orybina Snellen, 1895, a member of tribe Pyralini of the subfamily Pyralinae and family Pyralidae, was established as the objective replacement name for Oryba Walker, 1863. The original genus Oryba was established for its type species Oryba flaviplaga Walker, 1863 (by monotypy) from North Hindostan [North India]. Recently, the genus is reviewed by Qi et al. (2017) with inclusion of eight species and one subspecies in the World: Orybina kobesi Roesler, 1984, Orybina plangonalis (Walker, 1859), Orybina regalis (Leech, 1889), Orybina bellatulla Qi & Li, 2017, Orybina puerensis Qi & Li, 2017, Orybina hoenei Caradja, 1935, Orybina flaviplaga (Walker, 1863), Orybina imperatrix Caradja, 1925 and Orybina flaviplaga kiangsualis Caradja, 1925. The genus can be diagnosed by the rosteriform labial palpi, forewings reddish-brown or saffron, with a yellow spot (except in Orybina bellatulla). In the male genitalia uncus is triangular or tongue-shaped, and valvae are enlarged apically. In the female genitalia, the anterior apophyses and posterior apophyses are short, the ductus bursae usually coiled anteriorly, and the ovate corpus bursae is without signum (Qi et al. 2017).

In this study, we describe a new species of the genus Poecilocloeus from Renascença municipality, Paraná State, Brazil. Poecilocloeus renascensis n. sp. inhabits the Atlantic Semideciduous Forest edges of Renascença and adjacent areas, and our study is the first record of this genus from southern Brazil. The species belongs to the group bullatus (Rehn, 1908), and the descriptions are based on morphological characters, mainly from male genitalia. Morphological descriptions are provided together with illustrations emphasizing the most significant diagnostic features of external morphology and male genitalia. Information is given about type specimens, examined material and geographic distribution.

The genus Gnathospinosa Liao & Huang, gen. nov., belonging to the subfamily Euplocaminae, is described with a new species G. qinlingensis Liao & Huang, sp. nov. from China as its type species. The new species was illustrated with photographs of the adults and male genitalia. A preliminary phylogenetic study based on mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I gene (co1) sequence data of the new species and Psecadioides cuneus are presented.

The genus Nola was established with the western Palaearctic species Noctua cucullatella (Linnaeus, 1758) described from Austria as its type species. Nola occurs in all continents except the Antarctica and contains more than 200 valid Eurasian and North African taxa (László et al., 2014). The genus Nola can be easily distinguished from other genera of Nolinae with the distinctive features as the degenerate uncus, the divided valva with the ventral valval lobe bearing the harpe and a curved carina process in male genitalia. In our recent survey, we report a new species Nola senmuzhaensis sp. nov. and a new record of Nola sikkima (Moore, 1888) from Tibet, China. Adults and genitalia are illustrated. The type specimens are deposited in Southwest University of Science and Technology (SWUST).

The genus Neadeloides Klima, 1939 is a small genus of the subfamily Pyraustinae (Lepidoptera, Crambidae). It was established for the type species Hoterodes cinerealis Moore, 1867 as the objective replacement name for Adeloides Warren, 1892, a homonym of Adeloides Blanchard, 1845 of Curculionidae in Coleoptera (Singh et al. 2019; Nuss et al. 2003–2020). Recently, this genus was studied by Singh et al. (2019), with the inclusion of three species: N. cinerealis (Moore, 1867) and N. nubilus Singh, Ranjan & Singh, 2019 from India, and N. glaucoptera (Hampson, 1896) from Bhutan. Species of Neadeloides can be distinguished by the following characters. In the male, the antenna are very long, about twice the length of the forewing; forewing narrow, with a produced apex; termen extremely oblique; in the female, antenna almost same length of the forewing; forewing wider than male; in the male genitalia, uncus broad, inverted U–shaped, ventrally concave, with a small, sub–apical lateral projection on both sides; valva elongated flap–like, membranous at base and sclerotized from middle to apex; costal margin rather concave, nearly straight; dorsum of valva outwardly angled at middle or roughly straight; sacculus process hook–shaped or broad rectangular, with setose apical flap (Singh et al. 2019).

Ithocritus ruber (Hope, 1839), the type species of the genus Ithocritus Lacordaire, 1872 is reinvestigated, and a partially sympatric species, Ithocritus similis Bi & Lin, sp. nov. (相似短柄天牛, Xiāng sì duǎn bǐng tiān niú), is described. The genus Falsimalmus Breuning, 1956 is newly recorded from China, based on the discovery of Falsimalmus niger Breuning, 1956 from Yunnan. New localities, illustrations of habitus, endophallic structure and major diagnostic features for all involved taxa are provided.
