Professor András Zicsi, the renowed taxonomist and ecologist of earthworms, passed away on 22 July, 2015. He had a decisive impact on earthworm taxonomy in the second half of the 20th century, describing 10 new genus group taxa and 243 species / subspecies new to science distributed in 10 families. A complete list of the new taxa described by Prof. Zicsi is presented here together with references to the original descriptions and the valid names.

Svetlana N. Myartseva started her extensive study of Mexican Chalcidoidea in 1998 as a professor of the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas in Ciudad Victoria, Mexico. From 2000 to 2016 she published four monographs, 15 book chapters and 91 journal articles on taxonomy, fauna and biology of Mexican Chalcidoidea. She described one new genus and 140 species belonging to five families: Aphelinidae (117 species in 10 genera), Encyrtidae (15 species in 6 genera), Eulophidae (5 species in 2 genera), Eupelmidae (1species) and Trichogrammatidae (1 species). The most valuable contribution by S.N. Myartseva was to the knowledge of the family Aphelinidae and its largest genus Encarsia Förster. As results of her investigations, the number of species in this genus in the Mexican fauna was increased from 30 in 2000 to 112 in 2016; 70 species were described by S.N. Myartseva as new. Currently, 14 genera and 214 species of Aphelinidae (1 genus and 117 species from 10 genera were described as new) are known to occur in Mexico which is almost three times more species than were known in 2000. A complete list of new taxa of Chalcidoidea described by S.N. Myartseva from Mexico and all her publications on Mexican Chalcidoidea are provided.

Eight new taxa of Eriophyidae mites associated with native trees in the Cupania genus—C. oblongifolia Mart. and C. impressinervia Acev (Sapindaceae)—from the Atlantic Forest in Brazil, are described and illustrated. They include two new genera and two new species of Nothopodinae, Colopodacini (Setibia domatiagena   gen. nov., sp. nov. and Aricolopodos alagoensis gen. nov., sp. nov.), one new genus and two new species of Cecidophyinae, Colomerini (Euryslobos keronidos gen. nov., sp. nov. and Gammaphytoptus cupanius sp. nov.), and one new species of Phyllocoptinae, Tegonotini (Shevtchenkella caboata sp. nov.).

In preparation for upcoming studies, several new taxa of Australian Erotylinae (Coleoptera: Erotylidae) need to be described to make names available. New genera and species in Dacnini and Megalodacnini are described. Echinothallis banderbearella, new genus and species (Dacnini); Microdacne, new genus, with four new species (Dacnini), M. gloriousa, M. lamingtonia, M. nardia, M. styxia; and Episcaphula (Tropidoscaphula) megalodacnoides, new species (Megalodacnini). Variation of female terminalia and other characters in several genera are discussed regarding the monophyly and generic diversity of Dacnini.

This paper contains the results of qualitative analysis of Lumbricidae (Oligochaeta) in Montenegro, during the period 1997-2003. The research has included natural and cultivated biotopes. The presence of 15 species was established and the habitats, localities and their zoogeographical position are given. In Montenegro we found four species for the first time Dendrobaena jastrebensis, D. vejdovskyi, Octodrilus bretcheri and Lumbricus terrestris. The complete list of earthworm species in Montenegro includes 45 taxa. With respects to the zoogeographic situation of the earthworms in Montenegro, the largest number belongs to endemic (10) and European (10) species. But 8 taxa are south-European, 9 Holarctic, 7 cosmopolitan, and 1 Palearctic. The degree of endemism of the earthworm fauna of Montenegro is quite high, exceeding 22.2%.

A new genus of gnaphosid spiders, Almafuerte, gen. nov., is described for seven species from Southern South America. The new genus is diagnosed by a conspicuous retrolateral tegular projection on the male palp, and by having three teeth on the cheliceral retromargin. It comprises six species from Argentina, A. peripampasica sp. nov. (type species), from Central Argentina, also present in Uruguay, A. kuru sp. nov., from Santiago del Estero, A. vigorosa sp. nov., from Corrientes, A. goloboffi sp. nov., from Salta and Jujuy, A. remota sp. nov., from Santiago del Estero and Mendoza, and A. giaii (Gerschman & Schiapelli) comb. nov., here transferred from Echemus, from Santa Fe (the female is here described by the first time); and one species from Bolivia, A. facon sp. nov., from Cochabamba. Hypotheses of relationships of the new taxa are briefly discussed, in the context of the previously proposed groupings: the subfamilies Echeminae and Drassodinae (sensu Platnick 1990) and the “Echemus group” (sensu Murphy 2007).

In this work, we describe one new genus and 4 new species from Xizang, China: Allogrigoriora carinata gen & sp. nov., Nigrimacula beybienkoi sp. nov., Sinoxizicus carinatus sp. nov. and Tamdaora curvicerca sp. nov. Besides the new taxa, 3 new combinations [Grigoriora cheni (Bey-Bienko, 1955) comb. nov.; Grigoriora kweichowensis (Tinkham, 1944) comb. nov.; Nefateratura bifurcata (Liu & Bi, 1994) comb nov.] are also changed. All the specimens are deposited in Shanghai Entomological Museum, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Recent survey work for planthoppers at La Selva Biological Station in Costa Rica found two new species allied with Cenchrea Westwood. The cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) and 18S were sequenced for the new taxa and used these data to assess the genus-level standing of the new taxa. The new taxa do not cluster with Cenchrea dorsalis Westwood, the type species of Cenchrea. A new genus Tico gen. n. described for the reception of new species described as Tico emmettcarri sp. n. (the type species) and Tico pseudosororius sp. n. Cenchrea sororia Fennah is moved to Tico gen. n., to form the new combination Tico sororius (Fennah). Tico gen. n. is compared with allied genera, and review genus-level diagnostic features and the species composition of Cenchrea, which appears to be compositionally heterogenous, but additional data is needed to evaluate genus-level placement of most species.

New genus and species of burrowing sea anemones of the family Halcampidae, Gorgonactis marisalbi gen. et sp. nov., are described from the White Sea (Chupa Bay). The new taxa are characterised by unique characters not found in other members of this family: a simple, strong marginal sphincter, very long tentacles and their large spirocysts.

A review of all snailfishes from New Zealand waters deposited in the National Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Ton-garewa showed that six genera and at least 18 species occur within the New Zealand Exclusive Economic Zone. Of these,one genus and 16 species are new. These new taxa, described here, are Aetheliparis taurocanis n.g., n.sp. from near Moa Seamount at 731–869 m, Careproctus narilobus from the Chatham Plateau at about 1830 m, C. pellucicauda andParaliparis pseudokreffti from the Bounty Trough at 2786–2821 m, P. exilis from the southeast Chatham slope, P. free-borni and P. pearcyi from the northeast Chatham Rise at 1044–1050 and 1218 m respectively, Osteodiscus rhepostomiasfrom the Bounty Trough at 2786–2821 m, Psednos argyrogaster from the east Chatham Rise at 1015–1037 m, P. chathamifrom the Chatham Rise at 1335–1340 m, P. cryptocaeca from off the Otago Canyons at 118–121 m, P. longiventris fromthe Chatham Rise at 1054–1058 m, P. microstomus from Reinga Ridge at 1158–1230 m, P. nemnezi from the Pegasus Can-yon and south Chatham Rise at 862–960 m, P. platyoperculosus from Chatham Rise at 1141–1163 m, and P. struthersifrom the southern Havre Trough at 1411–1428 m. The two previously known species from New Zealand waters are Care-proctus novaezelandiae Andriashev and Notoliparis kermadecensis (Nielsen). In addition, several specimens of Parali-paris and Psednos could not be identified or described because of their poor condition, but do not seem to be the same asany of the 18 described species. Partial descriptions are provided for them. This paper describes the new taxa, reviews the known taxa, and provides keys to their identification.
