Three new genera and seven new species of Acanthocephalini Stål (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Coreidae) are described: Anomalopetalops with three new species, A. brulei (French Guiana), A. ariquemesus (Brazil), and A. diamantinus (Brazil); Antipetalops with two new species, A. colombianus (Colombia), and A. discretus (Bolivia); and Cryptopetalops with two new species, C. llorentei (Brazil and French Guiana), and C. pluteus (Peru). Dorsal habitus photographs, and keys to the new species of each genus are added. Dorsal habitus photographs and a key to the 18 known genera of Acanthocephalini are given. Placophyllopus Blöte, 1938 is synonymized under Meluchopetalops Breddin, 1903. Placophyllopus cothurnatus Blöte, 1938 is considered a junior synonym of Meluchopetalops banausus Breddin, 1903. Bermejanus Brailovsky, 2018 is transferred to the tribe Placoscelini, and a key to the known genera of that tribe is provided.

The harvestman genus Bonea Roewer, 1914 and its type species B. sarasinorum Roewer, 1914 are redescribed based on the type material. In addition, two new species of Bonea from Hainan Island, China, are described and illustrated: B. zhui sp. nov. and B. tridigitata sp. nov. A new species of Lomanius Roewer, 1923 from Yunnan Province, China, is also described and illustrated: L. bulbosus sp. nov.. Keys to the 10 species of Bonea and the six species of Lomanius are provided. Paralomanius Goodnight & Goodnight, 1948 is revalidated from the synonymy of Lomanius, carrying as junior synonym Eulomanius Roewer, 1949, and containing two species from Micronesia (Paralomanius longipalpus Goodnight & Goodnight, 1948) and Philippines (Paralomanius mindanaoensis (Suzuki, 1977) new status). Bonea is transferred from the Ibaloniinae to Podoctinae. These are the first records of named species of Podoctidae from China.

AbstractFungi can colonize most of the substrata on Earth. Honey, a sugary food produced by bees (and other insects) has been studied little in terms of its fungal diversity. We have surveyed and evaluated the presence of xerotolerant and xerophilic fungi in a set of honey bee samples collected from across Spain. From 84 samples, a total of 104 fungal strains were isolated, and morphologically and phylogenetically characterized. We identified 32 species distributed across 16 genera, most of them belonging to the ascomycetous genera Aspergillus, Bettsia, Candida, Eremascus, Monascus, Oidiodendron, Penicillium, Skoua, Talaromyces and Zygosaccharomyces. As a result of this survey, eight new taxa are proposed: i.e. the new family Helicoarthrosporaceae, two new genera, Helicoarthrosporum and Strongyloarthrosporum in Onygenales; three new species of Eurotiales, Talaromyces affinitatimellis, T. basipetosporus, and T. brunneosporus; and two new species of Myxotrichaceae, Oidiodendron mellicola, and Skoua asexualis.

Two new genera and three species of the Pantheinae are described. The genus Flavala gen. n. (type-species Acronycta flavala Moore, 1867) is separated from Anacronicta Warren, 1909. The new combination Flavala flavala (Moore, 1867) comb. n. is introduced. Two new species, Flavala crypta sp. n. and F. secunda sp. n. are described based on the result of barcoding of mitochondrial DNA. The new genus Xizanga gen. n. (type-species Xizanga mysterica sp.n.) is tentatively placed in Pantheinae.

An in-depth study of the genera Paguristes Dana, 1851 and Pseudopaguristes McLaughlin, 2002 in Indonesian waters has resulted in refined hypotheses of some of the evolutionary trajectories within the Paguroidea. Not only has the observed reduction in pleurobranch and arthrobranch number in three species, Paguristes hians Henderson, 1888, P. kuekenthali De Man, 1902 and P. monoporus Morgan, 1987 required the transfer of these taxa to Pseudopaguristes, they, and two new species, have required an emendation of the genus itself. Additionally, the investigation has also revealed anintermediate evolutionary change that heretofore has gone unrecognized. In several, apparently less derived, representatives of Paguristes, the characteristic gill number of 13 pairs (ten of arthrobranchs and three pleurobranchs) has been reduced to 12, with the loss of the pleurobranch on the wall of fifth thoracic somite. Only one of these recognized species, Paguristes tuberculatus Whitelegge, 1900, occurs in Indonesian waters. The genus Stratiotes, Thomson, 1899, erected for Pagurus setosus Filhol, 1885, a junior synonym of Paguristes setosus (H. Milne Edwards, 1848), is reinstated because its type species has proved to have 12 pairs of gills. Three new species are included in Stratiotes: S. micheleae n. sp., S. breviantennatus n. sp., and S. ngochoae n. sp. The new species assigned to Pseudopaguristes are P. asper n. sp. and P. gracilis n. sp.

A checklist of the Synanthedonini of Madagascar is presented. The following taxonomic changes are suggested: Malgassesia pauliani Viette, 1955 syn. nov. is a junior synonym of Rodolphia hombergi Le Cerf, 1911a; Malgassesia biedermanni Viette, 1982 syn. nov. is a junior synonym of Malgassesia rufescens Le Cerf, 1922; Epitarsipus Le Cerf, 1922 stat. rev. is resurrected from the synonymy with Malgassesia Le Cerf, 1922, the earlier consisting of the single species E. rufithorax Le Cerf, 1922 comb. rev. The taxonomic position of three species, which were originally described in Chamaesphecia Spuler, 1910 and later excluded from this genus as “incertae sedis”, remains unclear. These species are here transferred to Malgassesia: M. andrianony Viette, 1982 comb. nov.; M. lemur Le Cerf, 1957 comb. nov.; and M. ferdinandi nom. nov., a replacement name for Ch. seyrigi Le Cerf, 1957. Two new species and genera of Synanthedonini, Cinctosesia polistiformis and Nesosphecia mystica gen. nov. et sp. nov., are described from a submontane rainforest in the vicinity of Andasibe in the East of Madagascar.

Examination of earthworm material collected during the ecological studies from the Western Ghats, a biodiversity hot spot in South India, showed the existence of new genera and new species of octochaetid earthworms. Three new genera, Senapatiella with three new species (S. alfredi, S. ghatensis, S. herbettuensis), Shimodrilus with two new species (S. bhatkalensis, S. karniensis) and Herbettodrilus containing one new species (H. bahli) are erected. Other new species, Konkadrilus shimogensis, K. gatesi, Hoplochaetella lavellei, Karmiella sulvalliensis and Wahoscolex michaelseni are also described. Keys to the species of Senapatiella and Shimodrilus are provided.

AbstractSome 35 species (mostly Neotropical, 22 new) of acalypterate flies representing 17 genera (3 new) in six families, as follows, are treated: Family Cypselosomatidae. One species from Nepal, Cypselosoma gephyrae Hendel (?), is discussed.Family Pseudopomyzidae. The classification of the family is reviewed, and a key to the world genera is provided. The genus Latheticomyia Wheeler is placed here for the first time, and two new species, L. longiterebra (Peru) and L. rotundicornis (Mexico), are described. Two new genera, Pseudopomyzella and Rhinopomyzella, are erected for three new species, P. flava (Peru), R. albimana (Brazil), and R. nigrimana (Brazil).Family Periscelidae. The leafhopper tribe Platyjassini, endemic to Madagascar, is revised, largely based on specimens obtained in a recent bioinventory project led by the California Academy of Sciences. Platyjassini was previously known based on the type genus, Platyjassus Evans, 1953, and four described species. Betsileonas marmorata (Blanchard, 1840), the largest leafhopper recorded from Madagascar, presently known from a few specimens collected > 100 years ago and recently considered a genus and species incertae sedis within Cicadellidae, is newly placed in Platyjassini. Fourteen new genera and 54 new species are described and illustrated, and three new combinations are proposed. Pachyjassus gen. nov. includes three new species: Pachyjassus alatus sp. nov., Pachyjassus basifurcatus sp. nov. and Pachyjassus ranomafanensis sp. nov. Pallijassus gen. nov. is erected to include two species previously placed in Platyjassus, Pallijassus reticulatus (Evans, 1959) comb. nov. and Pallijassus stenospatulatus (Evans, 1959) comb. nov. Petalojassus gen. nov. includes one new species, Petalojassus ochrescens sp. nov.
