Two new mite species of the family Phytoseiidae (Acari: Mesostigmata) are described from southern Africa: Typhlodromalus parcidentatus n. sp. from Mozambique and Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) malawiensis n. sp. from Malawi.

Five new eriophyoid mites infesting weeds of the family Poaceae are described and illustrated from Egypt. They are Abacarus stagninis sp. nov. from Echinochloa stagnina (Retz.) P. Beauv., vagrants in grooves between veins on the upper leaf surface, causing discoloration of the leaves; and four new species from genus Aceria (A. echinochloae sp. nov., A. barnyardi sp. nov., and A. stagninis sp. nov.) from E. stagnina and E. crus–galli (L.) Beauv., and Aceria pennisetosa sp. nov., from Pennisetum purpureum Schumach. These species are vagrants underneath inner surface of the leaf sheath around stem and no symptoms were observed. However, A. barnyardi sp. nov. is a vagrant underneath inner surface of the leaf sheath around stem and are endoparasitic inside tissue of leaves causing rusted leaves.

A new pachylaelapid mite species of the genus Onchodellus, O. masani sp. nov., is described and illustrated based on female specimens from Iran. The new species is compared with congeneric species with shortened peritremes. The new regional distributions for three examined species, Onchodellus hispani (Berlese), O. karawaiewi (Berlese), and O. strigifer (Berlese) are presented, and the situation of other species of the genus in Iran is revised. The current knowledge of the pachylaelapid species of Iran is discussed and a new list of the described and recorded species of the family is provided.

Eighteen predatory mite species of the family Phytoseiidae are reported from three sites of the Cerrado ecosystem in the State of S o Paulo, southeastern Brazil, on seven plant species of the family Myrtaceae. This paper provides a list of those species and compares relevant morphological characteristics of the specimens collected with those of the original descriptions and/ or redescriptions of the corresponding species. A key is provided to help in the separation of the species mentioned in the paper. Some of the species collected have been reported as common predators on dominant crops in the region where the work was done. Their occurrence on Myrtaceae plants found naturally in the Cerrado ecosystem indicates that those plants could represent important reservoirs of those predators.

Two new oribatid mite species viz. Papillacarus (Vepracarus) acaciensis sp. nov. and Licneremaeus indicus sp. nov. belonging to the respective oribatid families, Lohmanniidae and Licneremaeidae are described and illustrated. Specimens of both species were collected from litter of Acacia auriculiformis Benth. (Leguminosae) growing in different localities of the Calicut University Campus, Malappuram Dt. of Kerala. The family Licneremaeidae is recorded for the first time from India. Identification keys to all known species of the nominative subgenus Vepracarus and the genus Licneremaeus are also provided.

This survey of the distribution of the water mite species (Acari: Hydrachnidia, Hygrobatidae) of the genus Atractides Koch in Iran is based on all published data so far and numerous new records. Five new species are described, viz. Atractides markaziensis Pesic, A. mossahebii Pesic, A. mirkopesici Pesic, A. gereckei Pesic, and A. nikooae Pesic; a first description is given for the male of Atractides cf. lunipes Lundblad, 1956; a redescription are given for Atractides baderi Schwoerbel & Sepasgozarian, 1976, Atractides nahavandii Schwoerbel & Sepasgozarian, 1976, and Atractides fluviatilis (Szalay, 1929); first records from Iran are given for Atractides acutirostris (Motas & C.Angelier, 1927), A. robustus (Sokolow, 1940) and A. inflatus (Walter, 1925).

Mauritius is one of the three main islands constituting Mascareignes Archipelago, with La Réunion and Rodrigues. So far, fourteen mite species of the family Phytoseiidae had been reported from this island. We report in this paper the results of a survey conducted at the end of 2018 in Mauritius Island, in which 12 additional species were firstly recorded.

This is the ninth publication in a series on the taxonomy of phytoseiid mites of sub-Saharan Africa. Sixty-five phytoseiid species of the tribe Typhlodromini Wainstein, all of which are in the genus Typhlodromus Scheuten are reported in this paper (62 in the subgenus Anthoseius DeLeon and 3 in the subgenus Typhlodromus Scheuten). They refer to all species of this tribe known to occur in sub-Saharan Africa. Fifteen new species are described and 41 species are redescribed. Most of the reported species were collected in various habitats in southern Africa and in cassava habitats in tropical Africa. A key is included for the separation of these species.

Up to now, 64 genera and 178 eriophyoid mite species are known to occur on the Fagaceae. We described and illustrated herein seven new genera and eleven new eriophyoid species associated with plants in the family Fagaceae, collected from eleven provinces in China. They are: Bariella spinishieldis sp. nov. on Quercus sp.; Calesalquia tiantangzhaica gen. nov. & sp. nov. on Quercus sp.; Acaphyllisa quinqueridges sp. nov. on Cyclobalanopsis glauca; Jiangsuacarus huaguoshanensis gen. nov. & sp. nov. on Quercus sp.; Spinacarus guniujiangensis gen. nov. & sp. nov. on Cyclobalanopsis glauca; Calvittacus chenius sp. nov. on Quercus chenii; Cereusacarus maopingensis gen. nov. & sp. nov. on Cyclobalanopsis glauca; Neovittacus shitaicus gen. nov. & sp. nov. on Quercus sp.; Paracaliphytoptus yangensis gen. nov. & sp. nov. on Cyclobalanopsis glauca; Shaanxicarus glaucaer gen. nov. & sp. nov. on Cyclobalanopsis glauca; and Rhyncaphytoptus qimenensis sp. nov. on Cyclobalanopsis glauca. Three new combinations are given: Jiangsuacarus abietis (Kuang & Luo, 2005) comb. nov. on Abies fabri (Pinaceae); Jiangsuacarus dolichocladae (Song, Xue & Hong, 2008) comb. nov. on Bambusa dolichoclada (Poaceae); and Coptophylla querci (Chandrapatya & Boczek, 2000), comb. nov. on Quercus mespilifolioidea (Fagaceae).

Two new mite species from Madagascar, based on female specimens, viz. Armascirus skvarlai sp. nov. and Cunaxa corpuzrarosae sp. nov. (Acari: Prostigmata: Cunaxidae), are described and figured. Armascirus skvarlai sp. nov. differs from the related species A. gimpeli Smiley, 1992 by having long hysterosomal platelets, thin and long lateromedial sts on the palpal genu, and from A. ozarkensis Skvarla & Dowling, 2012 by having a cone-shaped proterosomal shield with straight lateral edges, and by its nearly triangular hysterosomal shield. Cunaxa corpuzrarosae sp. nov. differs from the related species C. potchensis Den Heyer, 1979 by having 4 pairs of sts between coxae IV and the genital region, and by having a short stout palpal femoral apophysis; and from C. mageei Smiley, 1992 and C. neogazella Smiley, 1992 by having much shorter hysterodorsal and palpal tibiotarsal setae.
