This paper briefly outlines the therapy of sensory integration as developed by Dr. A. Jean Ayres, including a breakdown of the most prevalent types of dysfunction. In an extensive literature review which includes writings from 1811 through to the present day, the symptoms of schizophrenia which may be related to sensory integrative deficit are then examined. Finally, current research and treatment programs which utilize sensory integrative treatment with schizophrenics are reviewed, with emphasis on a program review conducted at Whitby Psychiatric Hospital in Ontario, 1981. Implications for future treatment and research are explored.

This paper briefly describes the theoretical framework of sensory integrative treatment, as it was originally developed by Ayres, and used with perceptually handicapped children. The results of testing and observations by several authors, which reveal sensory integrative and perceptual disturbances in schizophrenics, are outlined. King's model of personality development and the theoretical concepts underlying the application of sensory integrative treatment to schizophrenics are presented. Lack of empirical evidence and standardized tests are found to be the difficulties in establishing the effectiveness of the use of sensory integration in the treatment of the schizophrenic patient.

This consistent conceptualisation facilitates the development of the reliable and valid three-dimensional customer cognitive legitimacy scale in 10 studies. The scale is based on potential customers’ interest in acquiring knowledge about a product and the company responsible for it, their perception of the company’s and the product’s future, and their perception of how competent the company’s managers are.

Background. Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) is a rare neoplasm involving the peritoneum. Most PMPs are low-grade appendicular mucinous neoplasms (LAMNs). There have been no reports of PMP originating from a transverse colonic mucinous adenocarcinoma and causing metastatic mucinous adenocarcinoma. Case Presentation. We report a 46-year-old woman who presented with a right abdominal mass of more than 4-month duration. Transverse colonic mucinous adenocarcinoma, PMP, and ovarian metastatic mucinous adenocarcinoma were diagnosed. The patient’s diet was normal, and she had no abdominal pain or bloating. The abdomen mass increased in the month before treatment. After chemotherapy, the transverse colon mass and ovarian giant cyst were resected and about 2000 mL of gelatinous tumor tissue was removed. Postoperative histology confirmed PMP from the transverse colonic mucinous adenocarcinoma, ovarian metastatic mucinous adenocarcinoma, and mesocolon metastatic cancer. Multiple lung metastases appeared 8 months after surgery. The patient died 29 months after surgery because of an inability to eat and poor nutrition. A systematic literature review of the management and outcome of all known similar cases is also presented. Conclusions. This is the first report of PMP originating from a transverse colonic mucinous adenocarcinoma. It was diagnosed during resective surgery, involved ovarian metastasis, and survival was short. We did an extensive literature review in order to describe the clinical characteristics, histopathological findings, genetic profile, and potential treatments of PMP caused by nonappendiceal mucinous adenocarcinoma.

<p>The purpose of this study is to measure the effect of ethics embedded practices on maintaining long-term relationships with customers. Based on an extensive literature review, four elements of marketing ethics, namely, honesty, autonomy, privacy and transparency were identified and examined by utilizing a sample of 360 participants. Adopting a quantitative approach, the study conducted on telecommunication sector subscribers revealed that the elements of marketing ethics affected an organization’s ability of maintaining long-term relationships with customers and had a strong influence on feedback, transparency and privacy. The results also showed the crucial role of generating feedback from customers for creating and maintaining long-term relationships. The results will enable marketers to not only analyze the importance of adopting ethical practices in their strategies but also the relative relevance of these practices as perceived by customers.</p>

The authors surveyed 137 male admissions to the St. Cloud (Minnesota) Veterans Administration Medical Center to estimate the incidence of physical abuse toward wives/partners. Among those 101 who had lived with a woman, physical abuse was reported in 54 cases. However, the violence was judged “serious” by half or more of a panel of judges in only 23 of those cases. Moreover, serious violence within the previous year was reported by only 6 of these men. Since violence rated as serious by half or more of the judges and occurring within the past year was reported in only 4% of the sample, it appears that the need for special treatment programs for batterers is probably limited to a small minority of male psychiatric hospital patients.

In the past few years, reverse logistics practices have successfully managed to gain more attention in various industries and among supply chain researchers and experts. This is due to globalization, environmental concerns, and customer requirements, which have asserted industries’ concerns for reverse logistics management. In E-commerce, the process of reverse logistics originates with parcel refusal, undelivered goods, and exchanges. In developing countries like Pakistan, the adoption and implications of reverse logistics are still at their early stages. E-commerce companies give more attention to forward logistics and ignore logistics’ upstream flow in the supply chain. This study aims to identify, as well as list, the barriers and obtain the solutions to those identified barriers, and rank the barriers and their solutions so that logisticians and experts can solve them as per their priority. From the extensive literature review and experts’ opinions, we have found 14 barriers in implementing effective reverse logistics. Eight solutions to those barriers were also found from the literature review. This paper proposed the methodology based on fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (fuzzy-AHP), which used to get the weights of each barrier by using pairwise comparison, and fuzzy technique for order performance by similarity to ideal solution (fuzzy-TOPSIS) method, which was adopted for the final ranking of solutions to reverse logistics. The case of the Pakistan E-commerce industry is used in the proposed method.

Introduction. De Garengeot?s hernia is a rare type of femoral hernia that contains the appendix within the hernia sac and it is found in 0.5-5% of cases. The incidence of appendicitis within the de Garengeot?s hernia is 0.08-0.13%. We present a case of de Garengeot?s hernia with a gangrenous appendicitis and an extensive literature review of published cases. Case Report. We present a case of a 68-year-old woman who underwent urgent surgery due to an incarcerated femoral hernia and preoperatively undiagnosed de Garengeot?s hernia with a gangrenous appendicitis within the femoral hernia sac. Conclusion. De Garengeot?s hernia is most commonly diagnosed intraoperatively and requires immediate surgery in order to avoid complications. There are no recommendations regarding the choice of surgical procedure for femoral defect repair.

Vaccine hesitancy is a prevalent and ongoing issue. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, additional attention has been brought to the topic of vaccine hesitancy. Vaccine hesitancy is a threat to the population’s health globally. This article aims to acquire insights from previous literature to determine what works to increase vaccine uptake and how we can apply this knowledge to increase COVID-19 vaccine uptake. Research has focused chiefly on childhood vaccination and the hesitancy of caregivers. After conducting an extensive literature review, we have created a conceptual model of indicators that influence vaccine uptake for health providers and caregivers, which can also be used for vaccine recipients. Overall, the reasons for vaccine hesitancy are complex; therefore, a multifaceted approach is needed to address it. Understanding the factors that affect vaccine hesitancy will aid in addressing hesitancy and, in turn, lead to an increase in vaccine uptake.
