The University of Missouri–Columbia was selected to host the Student Affiliates of Seventeen (SAS) Executive Board from 2019–2022 and began their term in August 2019, following a successful three-year tenure by Ball State University. The new executive board has anchored its term in four pillars—Growth and Sustainability, Justice and Equity, Excellence and Innovation, and Wellness and Positive Development—which have guided the organization over the past year. This report reviews the purpose of SAS and discusses membership development, programming, advocacy, and the organizational development activities of the organization, including progress on goals to increase and engage membership and foster a more equitable and socially just organization that embraces liberation as a value. Counseling psychology students’ and the organization’s response and adjustment to the COVID-19 pandemic and national reckoning with police brutality and anti-Black racism are also discussed.

In 1990 (Fluegeman and Orr) the writers published a short study on known North American cyclocystoids. This enigmatic group is best represented in the United States Devonian by only two specimens, both illustrated in the 1990 report. Previously, the Cortland, New York, specimen initially described by Heaslip (1969) was housed at State University College at Cortland, New York, and the Logansport, Indiana, specimen was housed at Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana. Both institutions recognize the importance of permanently placing these rare specimens in a proper paleontologic repository with other cyclocystoids. Therefore, these two specimens have been transferred to the curated paleontologic collection at the University of Cincinnati Geological Museum where they can be readily studied by future workers in association with a good assemblage of Ordovician specimens of the Cyclocystoidea.

Ball State University has had the privilege of serving as host institution for Student Affiliates of Seventeen (SAS) for 2 years. The purpose of SAS is to increase student membership and engagement in the Society of Counseling Psychology (SCP), provide students with opportunities to learn and network, and highlight counseling students’ accomplishments. The SAS executive board developed two broad goals for the 2017–2018 year, including outreach to nonmember counseling students and engagement of SAS members. Inspired by the SCP and other divisions, SAS placed an emphasis on webinars as a means to engage and provide information to a geographically diverse membership base. The SAS executive board has conducted outreach, organized student programming, distributed funded awards, and had an active presence at various conferences. Furthermore, SAS has provided members with resources including networking, funding opportunities, and leadership positions.

ABSTRACT Outlining one of the most expressive contemporary scholars of Literary Journalism Studies is the perfect match between responsibility and professional challenge. John Steven Bak is a complex man, as every human being, but has an intriguing and unique personality. An American settled in France for the last 20 years, the professor of Literature at the University of Lorraine (FR) is a researcher at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in English Studies (IDEA), has a postdoctoral degree from the University of Sorborne (FR), holds a PhD and a master degree from Ball State University (USA) and is graduated in American, British, Rhetoric and Written Literature from the University of Illinois (USA). A scholar of American literature, drama, and theater, his main focus is research on the life and works of Tennessee Williams. Thirteen years ago he returned to his passion for Literary Journalism by founding the International Association of Studies in Literary Journalism (IALJS), where he has been developing many projects. But Bak is also a friend and father. And the latter may be the proudest titles he holds. The three authors of this text spared no efforts to translate all his talents into this text. An literary journalism adventure marked by encounters, researches and chats, but despite not fully accomplished detect who he is – if any work will do – this life story promises, at least, to bring to the mundane light a piece of the human magic, life and work of this inspired social scientist.   KEYWORDS: John S. Bak; Literary Journalism; International Association for Literary Journalism Studies; IALJS; Tennessee Williams.     RESUMEN Perfilar uno de los estudiosos contemporáneos más expresivos del periodismo literario mundial es el matrimonio perfecto entre la responsabilidad y el desafío profesional. The idea initiating the birth of the journal APSTRACT was initiated by András Nábrádi, during a 2005 AGRIMBA1 executive board meeting held in Aberdeen, UK. AGRIMBA is an open international network of academics and professionals from universities and related institutions dealing with education and research in agribusiness (Csapó et al., 2010). Currently, the Network is especially active in Central and Eastern Europe (Heijman, 2015). The main objective of the Network is to set standards based on best practices for programmes it oversees and to accredit them on the basis of these standards. The International MBA Network was established in 1995, by founding members from Wageningen University, Scottish Agricultural College, the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, Warsaw Agricultural University, University College Cork and the University of Wolverhampton. Between 2000 and 2009, the following universities joined the Network: Humboldt University Berlin, the University of Debrecen, Arkansas State University, the Agricultural University of Ukraine, the Timiryazev Academy in Moscow, the University of Belgrade and the University of Zagreb (Heijman, 2015). The Universities of Belgorod (Russia) and Kazan (Russia) has also joined the network last year. JEL code: A10

In recent years an increasing emphasis has been placed on the study of high temperature intermetallic compounds for possible aerospace applications. One group of interest is the B2 aiuminides. This group of intermetaliics has a very high melting temperature, good high temperature, and excellent specific strength. These qualities make it a candidate for applications such as turbine engines. The B2 aiuminides exist over a wide range of compositions and also have a large solubility for third element substitutional additions, which may allow alloying additions to overcome their major drawback, their brittle nature. One B2 aluminide currently being studied is cobalt aluminide. Optical microscopy of CoAl alloys produced at the University of Missouri-Rolla showed a dramatic decrease in the grain size which affects the yield strength and flow stress of long range ordered alloys, and a change in the grain shape with the addition of 0.5 % boron.

The Missouri Automated Radiology System recently passed its tenth year of clinical operation at the University of Missouri. This article presents the views of a radiologist who has been instrumental in the conceptual development and administrative support of MARS for most of this period, an economist who evaluated MARS from 1972 to 1974 as part of her doctoral dissertation, and a computer scientist who has worked for two years in the development of a Standard MUMPS version of MARS. The first section provides a historical perspective. The second deals with economic considerations of the present MARS system, and suggests those improvements which offer the greatest economic benefits. The final section discusses the new approaches employed in the latest version of MARS, as well as areas for further application in the overall radiology and hospital environment. A complete bibliography on MARS is provided for further reading.
