Racism is a scourge which has plagued societies for centuries. Its root cause can be found in the fear of others. Some authors have considered it as a mental disorder in its more severe forms. We approach it from a novel and highly actionable angle by comparing it to a transmissible disease, candidiasis, with which racism holds many essential similarities that we outline in details. We also suggest various ways to eradicate and mitigate racism through practical action plans.

Oil and gas companies are facing an enormous challenge to create value from mature fields. Moreover, price volatility presents a massive impact on project uncertainties. Therefore, robust portfolio management is essential for oil and gas companies to manage critical challenges and uncertainties. The objective of this study is to develop a robust portfolio model to assist top management in oil and gas companies to drive investment strategy. PRIME (Pertamina Investment Management Engine) has been built to visualize advanced oil and gas project portfolio management. The engine observes the relationship between risk-and-return as the main framework drivers. The profitability index is endorsed as a parameter to envisage the investment effectiveness of individual projects. Correspondingly, the risk index is a manifestation of multi-variable analysis involving subsurface uncertainty and price. A nine clusters "tactical board" matrix is provided as the outcome of PRIME to define generic strategy & action plans. The PRIME analysis leads to a dual theme of perspective: both macro and micro-scale. The macro-scale discovers a diversification of strategy and scenario development to achieve long-term objectives. Whereas, micro-scale perspective generates a detailed action plan in a particular cluster as a representation of the short and mid-term corporate strategy. Several strategies and action plans have been recommended, including advanced technology implementation, new gas commercialization, additional incentives in the Production Sharing Contract, tax management renegotiation, and project portfolio rebalancing

Abstract The paper focuses on the pad contamination defect removal technique. The defect is detected at the outgoing inspection step. The failure analysis results showed that the defect is Fluorine type contamination. The failure analysis indicated many source contributors mainly from Fluorine based processes. The focus is in the present work is in the rework method for the removal of this defect. The combination of wet and dry etch processing in the rework routine is utilized for the removal of the defect and preventive action plans for in-line were introduced and implemented to avoid this event in the future. The reliability of the wafer is verified using various tests including full map electrical, electrical sort, gate oxide breakdown (GOI) and wafer reliability level, passivation quick kill to ensure the integrity of the wafer after undergoing the rework routine. The wafer is monitored closely over a period of time to ensure it has no mushroom defect.

BackgroundGP practices have limited access to medical emergency training and basic life support is often taught out of context as a skills-based event.AimTo develop and evaluate a whole team integrated simulation-based education, to enhance learning, change behaviours and provide safer care.MethodPhase 1: 10 practices piloted a 3-hour programme delivering 40 minutes BLS and AED skills and 2-hour deteriorating patient simulation. Three scenarios where developed: adult chest pain, child anaphylaxis and baby bronchiolitis. An adult simulation patient and relative were used and a child and baby manikin. Two facilitators trained in coaching and debriefing used the 3D debriefing model. Phase 2: 12 new practices undertook identical training derived from Phase 1, with pre- and post-course questionnaires. Teams were scored on: team working, communication, early recognition and systematic approach. The team developed action plans derived from their learning to inform future response. Ten of the 12 practices from Phase 2 received an emergency drill within 6 months of the original session. Three to four members of the whole team integrated training, attended the drill, but were unaware of the nature of the scenario before. Scoring was repeated and action plans were revisited to determine behaviour changes.ResultsEvery emergency drill demonstrated improved scoring in skills and behaviour.ConclusionA combination of: in situ GP simulation, appropriately qualified facilitators in simulation and debriefing, and action plans developed by the whole team suggests safer care for patients experiencing a medical emergency.
