Surgeons have been hesitant to proceed to hepatectomy in elderly patients, due to the higher rate of comorbidities and the reduced reserves. An 81-year-old male with hepatocellular carcinoma in the segment VI of the liver and several major cardiovascular, pulmonary and metabolic comorbid illnesses was referred to our department for treatment. He underwent transarterial chemoembolization of the liver tumor and afterwards he underwent laparoscopic resection of the hepatic segment VI, with an uneventful postoperative course. This case indicates the safety and feasibility of laparoscopic liver resections in older patients, even when major comorbidities are present, provided that there is a careful planning of therapeutic strategy and operation.

Cornual ectopic pregnancy accounts for 2-4% of all the ectopic pregnancies with a mortality rate 6-7 times higher than that of the ectopics in general. It is a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge to the clinician with a significant risk of rupturing and bleeding. As of yet, the incidence of recurrent cornual ectopic pregnancies is unknown. This report described the case of a patient who developed two cornual ectopic pregnancies within a span of 3 years with an intervening full term normal vaginal delivery. The 1st cornual ectopic was successfully managed by laparoscopic resection, which was followed by an uneventful postoperative course. The following contralateral cornual ectopic was managed by laparotomy since the patient presented with large hemoperitoneum.

An apparent decline in the birth rate that accompanies the aging population with prolonged life expectancy requires greater investment in the health care of the elderly. It is necessary to identify the conditions that naturally carries the older times, expect a slower recovery in comparison to young people, but do not exclude recovery in treatment. In practice we often encounter indifference and neglect of an elderly patient by the medical staff, the assumption is that this is justified by insufficiently motivated patient.Searching PubMed, PubMed Central, Google Scholar and HINARI, we analyzed how this topic is present in nivioma protects the health and recognizing the importance of personalized care for older patients in the world. The results of many studies indicate that there is a neglect of elderly patients, resulting in poor outcome of care.Requires additional training of staff working with elderly patients to improving attitudes and extreme improve the treatment of these patients.Negative attitudes towards older patients contribute to business dissatisfaction medical staff.

<b><i>Background:</i></b> The incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in elderly patients is increasing worldwide. Although open hepatectomy (OH) yields acceptable outcomes, high morbidity rate is concerned. Laparoscopic hepatectomy (LH) has evolved to improve perioperative outcomes. However, comparative study between both techniques for elderly patients with HCC is scarce. <b><i>Objective:</i></b> This study aimed to compare outcomes between LH and OH specifically. <b><i>Methods:</i></b> HCC patients aged ≥70 years after hepatectomy (2003–2018) were included. The propensity score matching (PSM) and comparative analyses between groups were performed. <b><i>Results:</i></b> After PSM, there were 41 patients in each group with similar demographics, radiographic tumor characteristics, cirrhotic status, and extent of resection. The LH group had a shorter hospital stay (7 vs. 11 days, <i>p</i> = 0.002) compared with the OH group. The completeness of resection and complication rates were not statistically different between groups. The 5-year overall survival and recurrence-free survival rates were 86.7 and 43.4% in the LH group and 62.2 and 30.8% in the OH group (<i>p</i> = 0.221 and 0.500). <b><i>Conclusion:</i></b> Our study confirmed the operative and oncological safety of LH in elderly HCC patients with improved perioperative outcomes compared with OH.
