The goal of this study was to explore the evidence-based practice (EBP) pattern among speech-language pathologists (SLPs) and audiologists in Saudi Arabia. A total of 48 clinicians working in Saudi Arabia completed a questionnaire that investigated patterns, attitudes, skills, and time and resources at the workplace related to EBP. The results showed that SLPs and audiologists held favorable attitudes toward EBP, and the use of research studies to guide clinical decision making was increased among the participants with previous EBP training. Also, the study found that skills and knowledge related to EBP need to be enhanced, but they were not major barriers to EBP implementation. Limited resources appeared to impose some hindrances, whereas insufficient time at the workplace was found to be a major challenge for EBP implementation. Overall, the findings from this study highlight the importance of increasing the continuing education and professional time for EBP activities in the workplace.

The current study aimed to investigate knowledge, attitudes, and implementation of evidence-based practice among physiotherapists working in Saudi Arabia. A sample of physiotherapists working in various outpatient settings in Saudi Arabia participated in this survey. Sixty-four therapists (30 females, 34 males) completed a 28-item survey questionnaire. Approximately half of the participants indicated that evidence-based practice was useful and important for clinical practice. About 60% of the participants reported that they have adopted the evidence-based practice on a regular basis. Participants who had a membership in a physiotherapy organization and had advanced degrees showed more positive attitudes (t = −2.31, p = 0.02 and t = −2.15, p = 0.04, respectively) and greater levels of knowledge (t = −2.32, p = 0.02 and t = −3.86, p = 0.001, respectively) regarding evidence-based practice terminology. Furthermore, place of training (trained overseas) was associated with a positive attitude towards literature findings (t = 2.26, p = 0.03). The results of this study demonstrated that participants reported that evidence-based practice had not been extensively implemented, despite positive attitudes regarding its implementation among physiotherapists practicing in Saudi Arabia.

UNSTRUCTURED Estimating the awareness levels of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) among health care providers is currently active area of research. This study main objective is to evaluate the medical staff awareness about Evidence-Based Practice and its constitutes , tools and resources at Saudi General Tertiary Hospitals. The study was carried out at King Saud Medical City (KSMC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The research main data were collected predominantly using a cross-sectional survey questionnaire. The research results showed that showed that majority of participants have a good understanding of the term EBP (59.7%) ,while having a vague idea (34.7%) and with No idea are only (5.6%). Although of a high percentage of the participants realize the concept of EBP , levels of knowledge about various EBP tools vary considerably The less known EBP tools were for: Confidence interval (34.2%) , and P- value tool , Odd ratio ,and Heterogeneity (31.9) followed by Absolute Risk (29.8 %) and Sensitivity tool (27.7%). Among the most known EBP tools with “Good Understanding” level were for: Meta Analysis (27.7%) followed by Systematic review and Publication Bias both at 25.3%) level . The Chi-Square tests for the correlation of specialty rank and awareness of EBP indicates that there is no statistically significant association between Profession specialty rank or gender with EBP awareness or its tool knowledge levels . Main results from this research showed that Evidence-Based Practice awareness at King Saud medical city hospitals is at acceptable level. Furthermore, more intensive education and training and enhancement of EBP resources IT medical education resources are needed to increase its knowledge and understanding , and to support the diffusion of Evidence-Based Practice in daily practice.
