In order to keep up with the new requirements of a market or a business environment, organizational developments are a necessary change to align the company with the future. Every change in the company is associated with various obstacles, ranging from the difference between the current and the new business model to the employees' acceptance of the organizational development. In order to follow the new vision of the company, structured and extensive communication and structured planning of the implementation is required, in which every stakeholder has to be involved. The change that the organization implements must be accompanied by methods and models and thus learn in the development phase how to avoid obstacles and rejection to arouse motivation and interest so that uncertainties are prevented. Different methods are listed and evaluated in their implementation and content for a possibility for the change. The main focus is on the employees because without the acceptance of the most important stakeholders in a company, no further development is possible. If the employees do not support the vision, the change will fail. In order to accompany a successful development of the company, some necessary competencies and skills are listed, which are to be imparted by the company management and which the employee must acquire. This structured and modeled procedure is intended to accompany and enable change in a company.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to explore a sustainable hierarchical framework for the business environment in smart cities. However, this hierarchical framework must consider unnecessary attributes and interrelationships between criteria to capture the difference between smart cities and traditional cities. Design/methodology/approach Hence, the fuzzy set theory is used for screening unnecessary attributes, the decision-making and trial evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) is applied to manage the complex interrelationships among the aspects and attributes and interpretive structural modeling (ISM) is used to divide the hierarchy and construct a hierarchical theoretical framework. Ultimately, this research is applied to develop a sustainable hierarchical framework of the business environment in smart cities. Findings The results show that traditional social problems are still at the core of business environment development in smart cities, new smart opportunities may be discovered, but they are still limited by traditional social factors, the economy is still the main aspect of the business environment and there are still obstacles to solving social problems with smart technologies. Originality/value This theoretical hierarchical framework aims to guide smart cities toward sustainability. This study also proposes creating a predictable business environment by improving administrative efficiency, transparency, social mobility and infrastructure services and cultivating new business opportunities with intelligent technology.

The main characteristics of the business conditions of today's companies are frequent and intensive changes. The dynamic business environment of modern companies requires a new way of management that involves an implementation of new management models, methods, techniques and instruments that are adapted to the modern environment and able to respond to challenges and solve problems that arise in new business conditions. The aim of the paper is to describe the specifics of driver-based budgeting, as one of new management instruments. In comparison with traditional budgeting, driver-based budgeting possesses multiple advantages for companies that enable responding to changes in business environment in a more agile way. These advantages, as well as some perceived difficulties with its implementation in companies are described in the paper. The results of the paper contribute to the further development of the theory and can be an incentive for future research, as well as basis for making recommendations and practical instructions that could help companies improve their budgeting system.

Current dynamics of business environment and challenges that businesses are facing force firms to reorganize resources for becoming more effective at opportunity identification and exploitation. However, exploitation of new opportunities is often challenged by competency gap at the firm level. Often current level of competence of the firm does not meet the requirements coming with the new opportunities. In the literature on management science, learning is perceived as one of the greatest contributors in smooth and directed resource reconfiguration process. The outcome of learning is often linked to new knowledge and competencies that allow successful exploitation of identified opportunities within an external and internal business environment. Therefore, this paper aims to propose hypothetical model on how the successful implementation of new business opportunities is linked to multiple-loop organizational learning and closing of the competence gap of the firm. The aim is achieved by synergizing extant literature in the fields of dynamic capabilities, entrepreneurship and organizational learning. Critical analysis of relevant research leads to the development of a conceptual model explaining the process of how the firm is able to close the competence gap and assure successful opportunity exploitation within the firm. This results in the formation of the research questions for future empirical research. The study adds value to the existing literature by identifying the learning process that stimulates successful opportunity exploitation, drawing on the multiple-loop learning perspective, and applying dynamic capabilities framework.

For the purpose of writing this paper, I was motivated to choose this subject as it is a core part of the pharmaceutical companies' business strategy of promoting medicines. Regarding the importance of the research theme and the business environment, it is crucial that anyone connected to this business should realize the importance of organization, details, good deployment and impact of each event. In this respect, marketing can be seen as a true system of economic activities related to the programming of products and services that have the role of satisfying the requirements of current and potential consumers considerably, but is also linked to prices, promotion and distribution products or services.               Having knowledges about how important is the marketing part of pharmaceutical market, taking in consideration the huge budgets that medical and pharmaceutical companies spend on the events organized in this domain, I consider that a company which is able to have a new approach and a new vision for the organization of events and sharing medical education to doctors and medical information to patients will have a big success.

The paper examines the process of technology transfer from British industrial companies to Vietnamese companies, to look at the obstacles of this process, especially in dealing with different business culture environments. The study uses the case studies method, conducting interviews with about ten companies working in oil and gas service industry. Since this is only a first stage of the longer term project, only preliminary results were discussed. Therefore, a company in civil engineering consulting has been examined for comparison. The paper argues that the differences in perception of the same operation activity like service in oil and gas industry are crucial factors to take into account if the transfer process is to be successful. Also, the transferor and the recipient may have different behaviour in negotiating, in communicating with each other. Thus, the preparation of background information, to do "home work", patience and pro-active attitudes in trying to understand partners are important for transferring technology into different business environment.   In addition, the factors, sometime not very technology-related, such as internal political motives and organisational issues of the firms involved can be very influential in the success of technology transfer process.

Financial Planning and Forecasting is the estimation of value of a variable or set of variables at some future point. A Financial forecasting exercise is usually carried out in order to provide an aid to decision – making and planning of any line of business for future developments. This paper focuses insurance segments and tailored all the key areas of attention are such as assets, liabilities, marketing, human resources, expenditures, digitalization and technology inclusion, etc., all in one term called as wealth maximization. Financial planning and forecasting represents a blueprint of what a firm proposes to do in the future. So, naturally planning over such horizon tends to be fairly in aggregative terms. We need to focus on common elements which include economic assumptions, target forecast, proforma statements, asset requirements and the mode of financing the investments and so on. A financial plan can also be an investment plan, which allocates savings to various assets or projects expected to produce future income, such as a new business or product line, shares in an existing business. Financial forecast and financial plan can also refer to an annual projection of income and expenses for a company, division or department. This can also be an estimation of cash needs and a decision on how to raise the funds, such as through borrowing or issuing additional shares in a company. Forecasting is also used by outsiders to value companies and their securities. This is the aggregative perspective of the whole firm, rather than looking at individual projects. Growth is a key theme behind financial forecasting, so growth should not be the underlying goal of corporation – creating shareholder value is enabled through corporate growth.
