Research in biomechanics has numerous applications including rehabilitation which helps in the fabrication of assistive devices. The Assistive devices or exoskeletons are used to serve the patients affected by stroke and spinal cord malfunctioning. These devices are programmed to follow a fixed redundant gait cycle and are lacking in producing natural movement of the gait. To overcome this limitation and make the device more user comfortable during usage of their daily life activities, a thorough study was done using an open source software that contributed to the design of exoskeleton device for the subject. In the current study, a simulation of various daily life activities are thoroughly studied using a musculoskeletal simulator package like OpenSim. The paper presents the observations of muscle responses from ground reaction forces with minimized metabolic cost function in various activities of daily living such as sitting to standing, standing to sitting, jumping, twisting suddenly while walking and turning suddenly. The study deliberates the inputs for developing more comfortable exoskeletons in performing tasks in a more sophisticated manner.

The Age of Enlightenment is defined as the period when the universal ideas of progress, deism, humanism, naturalism and others were materialized and became a golden age for freemasons. It is wrong to assume that old and conservative Christian ideas were rejected. Conversely, freemasons put them into new general shapes and expressed them with the help of symbols in their daily routine. Symbols of freemasons had close ties with the past and gave them, on the one hand, a visible instrument, such as rituals and ideas to sense the transcendental, and on the other, intense gnostic aspirations. Freemasons put in a great amount of effort to improve themselves and to create their identity with the help of myths and symbols. It traces its origins to the biblical builders of King Solomon’s Temple, the posterity of the Templar Knights, and associations of the medieval craft guilds, which were also symbolical and became their link not only to each other but also to the secular world. In this work we analysed codified masonic symbols used in their rituals. The subject of our research is the universal Masonic idea and its aspects through the symbols in the daily life of the freemasons in Vilnius. Thanks to freemasons’ signets, we could find continuity, reception, and transformation of universal masonic ideas in the Lithuanian freemasonry and national characteristics of lodges. Taking everything into account, our article shows how the universal idea of freemasonry spread among Lithuanian freemasonry, and which forms and meanings it incorporated in its symbols. The objective of this research is to find a universal Masonic idea throughout their visual and oral symbols and see its impact on the daily life of the masons in Vilnius. BACKGROUND Dementia is a general term for various disorders characterized by memory impairment and loss of at least one cognitive domain. People with dementia are faced with different difficulties in their daily life activities (DLA). With the use of modern technologies, such as mobile phone apps – often called health apps, their difficulties can be alleviated. OBJECTIVE The aim of this paper was to systematically search, analyze and synthetize mobile phone apps designed to support people with mild dementia in daily life activities in two apps bases: Apple App Store and Google Play Store. METHODS A search was conducted in May 2019 following PRISMA recommendations. Results were analyzed and displayed as tables and graphs. Results were synthetized using thematic analysis which was conducted from 14 components, based on human needs for categorized nursing activities. Mobile phone apps were assessed for quality using the System Usability Scale. RESULTS A total of 15 mobile phone apps were identified applying inclusion and exclusion criteria. Five major themes were identified with thematic analysis: multi-component DLA, communication and feelings, recreation, eating and drinking, and movement. Most of the apps (73%) of the apps were not mentioned in scientific literature. CONCLUSIONS There are many mobile phone apps available in mobile phone markets for the support for people with mild dementia; yet only a few of them are focused on challenges in daily life activities. Most of the available apps were not evaluated nor assessed for quality.

This paper primarily discusses the Freezing of Gait which is a type of gait abnormality and generally occurs in Parkinson Disease patients which cause an interruption to their life. During a FOG episode, the subject is rendered unable to continue moving or even manoeuver. These episodes give rise to the danger of the patient landing on the ground and often renders a person immobile. The aim of this device is to develop a technique to identify the effect of ‘Freezing of Gait’ in people suffering from Parkinsons Disease and to provide feedback on detection and improving self-efficiency in about their daily life.

Attendance management can become a tedious task for teachers if it is performed manually.. This problem can be solved with the help of an automatic attendance management system. But validation is one of the main issues in the system. Generally, biometrics are used in the smart automatic attendance system. Managing attendance with the help of face recognition is one of the biometric methods with better efficiency as compared to others. Smart Attendance with the help of instant face recognition is a real-life solution that helps in handling daily life activities and maintaining a student attendance system. Face recognition-based attendance system uses face biometrics which is based on high resolution monitor video and other technologies to recognize the face of the student. In project, the system will be able to find and recognize human faces fast and accurately with the help of images or videos that will be captured through a surveillance camera. It will convert the frames of the video into images so that our system can easily search that image in the attendance database.

Stone Town’s busy streets in the 1950s became a set for photographer Ranchhod Oza, proprietor of Capital Art Studio (1930–83). I was aesthetically drawn to the numerous bicycles portrayed in these Zanzibari images, just as Oza had been at an earlier time and place. I am less interested in reading the subject of bicycles as simply a sign of Zanzibari modernity, an accoutrement that projects a fantasy of advancement via technological things. Instead, I focus on their ability to reflect various material aspects of daily life in Stone Town. Some bicycles carry people, others transport things, while still others appear as stage props, leaning up against walls while waiting (im)patiently for their owners to return. Yet in all these Oza images, they are moving still, ready to reach another chosen destination. What does the content of bicycles say about Oza’s photographic style? Can these bicycles potentially speak to Zanzibar’s placeness as a cosmopolitan Indian Ocean port city?
