PurposeThe primary objective of this study is to examine the nexus between transformational leadership (TL) and followers' radical creativity (FRC). In contrast, creative process engagement (CPE) and leader creativity expectation (LCE) was employed as a mediating and a moderator role, respectively.Design/methodology/approachA quantitative exploratory survey was applied as a research design, and 293 valid responses were collected from industry-university collaborative team leaders-followers. The authors performed descriptive and partial least square based structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis using the SPSS 23 and Smart-PLS 3.0 package program to test the hypothesis.FindingsEmpirical results revealed that the TL positively and significantly influences the FRC. Therefore, the mediation of CPE bridges the relationship between TL and FRC, while the moderating role of LCE was insignificant. TL with higher CPE indirectly enhances the FRC.Research limitations/implicationsUnlike the prior conventional componential theory of creativity (CTC), this study extends the scope of CTC addressing CPE and LCE to investigate the nexus between TL and FRC and contributes to the current literature leaders-followers relationship.Practical implicationsPractically, this research contributes to the growing body of the literature demonstrating how organizations might foster radical creativity in their employees and how to inspire followers to participate in radical creativity activities that might enhance organizational performance.Originality/valueThis study has broadened the scope of the CTC by emphasizing the mediating function of CPE in promoting particular aspects of followers' creativity.

 G. Thomas Tanselle’s Descriptive Bibliography — a monumental compilation of essays devoted to bibliographical theory and practice as they have evolved as a discipline since the 1960s — not only attests to Tanselle’s vibrant career but is also an occasion to reflect on bibliography as a “way of thinking” about book history, material culture, the editing of fluid texts, and digital scholarship. In our profession, the field of descriptive bibliography has endured decades of begrudging tolerance as “merely” custodial rather than critical; and yet bibliography — in so far as it records change — is the fundamental grounding for any historicist and materialist project. Melville’s so-called “L-word” in Typee — once it is tracked from manuscript to first edition to revised edition — records an “oscillating revision” in Melville’s thinking and writing that exemplifies the dance between accident and intentionality in the creative process. Tanselle’s essays on the practical workings of bibliography also suggest the field’s ability to extend its scope beyond idealized notions of the authorial work and to embrace non-authorized reprints, periodical placement, illustration, and non-literary documents, as well as adaptive revision in film and translation. Descriptive bibliography is essential for our deeper engagement with how and why versions evolve. Advancements in digital strategies related to database and display will facilitate the future acceptance of descriptive bibliography among literary scholars and critics seeking to test the interpretive potentials of biography, material history and culture, and the fluid text.

This chapter intends to provide a definition for the multi-faceted concept of creativity, describe components of the creative process, identify potential barriers to nurturing creativity, and present an explanation of creative pedagogy. The author believes that the pervasiveness of literacy in all subject matter provides an ideal mechanism for training preservice teachers in creative pedagogy. Throughout the chapter, the reader will find descriptions of activities that promote creativity through literacy instruction and examples of creative pedagogy in a preservice teacher education course.

We report on a somaesthetic design workshop and the subsequent analytical work aiming to demystify what is entailed in a non-dualistic design stance on embodied interaction and why a first-person engagement is crucial to its unfoldings. However, as we will uncover through a detailed account of our process, these first-person engagements are deeply entangled with second- and third-person perspectives, sometimes even overlapping. The analysis furthermore reveals some strategies for bridging the body-mind divide by attending to our inner universe and dissolving or traversing dichotomies between inside and outside ; individual and social ; body and technology . By detailing the creative process, we show how soma design becomes a process of designing with and through kinesthetic experience, in turn letting us confront several dualisms that run like fault lines through HCI’s engagement with embodied interaction.

PurposeBuilding on self-determination theory, this study empirically examined the influence of entrepreneurial leadership (EL) style on employee innovative behavior (EIB) in the context of software development firms located in the twin cities of Pakistan (Rawalpindi and Islamabad).Design/methodology/approachFor the present study, an employee survey (online questionnaire) was used for data collection. The data were collected through an adopted questionnaire by using emails and messaging applications. Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to analyze data collected from 245 respondents.FindingsThe findings of this study delineate that entrepreneurial leadership positively and significantly influences employee innovative behavior. Moreover, the relationship between entrepreneurial leadership and employee innovative behavior was partially mediated by employee epistemic curiosity (EC) and creative process engagement (CPE). The sequential mediation by the employee epistemic curiosity and creative process engagement between the link of entrepreneurial leadership and employee innovative behavior was also confirmed.Practical implicationsIn innovation-intensive organizations like software development firms, entrepreneurial leadership style can foster employee innovative behavior that is critical for organizational innovation success. This study provides information to the strategic leaders on how leadership behaviors can drive employee innovative behavior, particularly in the context of software development companies.Originality/valueThis study is an attempt to extend the scarce literature on the mechanisms through which leadership styles impact employee innovative behavior. Specifically, the mediating roles of employee epistemic curiosity and creative process engagement have been explored through a self-determination perspective.

The purpose of this design is to create a Zobo tea package design prototype allied with African indigenous onomastics. African indigenous products are effective in terms of functionality; however, industrialized products gained more attention because of aesthetics, safety, hygiene, and other advanced technology put into consideration during production. This seems to boost the inferiority of indigenous products. Hence, the present study focuses on indigenous Zobo tea in terms of creating a conceptual package design prototype enhanced with product onomastics. Twenty-two names are derived for indigenous Zobo tea by making use of linguistics techniques. These names are used as label for designing a conceptual package prototype for indigenous Zobo tea. A Delphi technique is adopted for the evaluation of this creative process. The findings show that homonym as an onomastics will enhance the branding and development of indigenous Zobo tea even in the international market. This will remodel the inferiority of the aesthetics of Zobo indigenous products. Hence, research on the choice of an appropriate name for a particular product should be a contemporary research area to improve the present situation of our indigenous product branding and graphic design. It is believed that the outcome of this research could provide guidelines for effective naming in product package design for indigenous product development; as creative designers must not only understand the vocabulary of graphic design but be aware of extraneous constraints that could affect their designs.

The purpose of the article is to identify and analyze the effectiveness of the Ukrainian state circus arts system’s touring activities from the early 1990s. Methodology. The study analyses archival information on the Ukrderzhtsirk’s work. The historical-factographic method helps to record the results of the circus touring activities development. Comparative analysis allows detecting the specifics of the phenomenon, revealing its organizational and creative trends, and evaluating them. Scientific novelty. For the first time, the main trends of the Ukrainian state circus touring activities held since the early 1990s were revealed and characterized. Conclusions. The touring activities’ effectiveness is characterized by declining trends – something that corresponds to the general dynamics of the “post-Soiuzgostsirk” organizational and creative process. Probably one of the decline factors was that of the head organization’s inability to provide the circus system with a properly centralized management. Ukrderzhtsirk has some achievements, in particular, its own brand-name founding, business contacts establishing, organizing of abroad tours for Ukrainian programs. However, the state circus product’s export faces its decline, while the sector of import is not prospective as a foreign product is too expensive. Obviously the current organizational and creative approaches to foreign economic activities performing are in need to be revised. The purpose of the article is to try to determine the nature of the interrelationships between two supertasks - an actor and a role - in the process of an actor's creativity, based on an analysis of the essence of the problem of reincarnation in the art of an actor from the Stanislavsky school. The research methodology is based on analytical, general logical and comparatively typological methods, which make it possible to comprehend in an unconventional way the concept of the dialectical unity of two super-tasks in the process of an actor's creativity in the context of the problems of reincarnation. The subject of this research is the basic concepts of the world-famous "system" of KS Stanislavsky. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that the theory of acting has never resorted to analyzing the dialectics of the relationship between two supertasks - the actor and the role - in the context of the problem of reincarnation. Its interpretation by the Stanislavsky school confirms the idea of ​​dialectical interaction of two super-tasks in a single creative process. Conclusions. In an artistically completed acting performance, we always deal with the presence of both the supertask of the actor himself, performing a certain role, and the supertask of the role (the actor). Despite their multidirectional nature, they nevertheless constitute a dialectically inseparable whole, transforming the process of reincarnation into a highly artistic act of creativity.
