The growth pattern and condition factors of three spots gourami Trichopodus trichopterus (Pallas, 1770) from Lempake Dam, East Kalimantan, are not yet informed. These studies aimed to investigate fishes' length and body weight, sex ratio, length-bodyweight relationships, growth patterns, and condition factors. The collection of fish sampling was carried out monthly from February to May 2020. A total of 912 individual samples of sepat rawa fish were caught by 15 fish traps using a purposive sampling method at three stations. This research showed that the total length of the fishes analyzed ranged from 31.68 to 103.53 mm, while body weight ranged from 1.12 to 7.22 g. The sex ratio in males and females was 1:1.19. The regression model of the length-body weight relationships calculated was W=3x10-5L2.861 for total samples, W=5x10-5L2.710 for males, and W=2x10-5L2.977 for females. The length-body weight was obtained strong relationships in all samples and sexes, with the regression coefficient (r) ranging from 0.965 to 0.977. An isometric growth pattern and the growth coefficient “b”=2.977 was observed in females, while a negative allometric growth pattern in males and both sexes, with the growth coefficient “b”= 2.710 and “b”=2.861. The values of relative condition factor (Kn) observed for females were ranged from 1.472 to 1.555 and for males ranged from 1.024 to 1.082. The growth pattern and relative condition factor of three spot gourami in the Lempake Dam were affected by the number of fishes in gonad mature condition and body shape.

Background: The mullets fish Liza macrolepis and Moolgarda engeli are predominant in the Lambada Lhok waters in Aceh province. At present, no scientific report on this species in Aceh waters is available. Therefore, the objective of the present study is to examine the growth pattern and condition factor of the species of mullets L. macrolepis and M. engeli harvested from the aforementioned coastal waters. Methods: The sampling was done in three locations in the Lambada Lhok waters from July to November 2018. The fish were captured using gillnets from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM four times a month for five months.  A total of 242 L. macrolepis and 109 M. engeli were used for the analysis. The growth pattern was analyzed using linear allometric model; then, two condition factors, Fulton’s and relative weight, were calculated. Results: The study revealed a b value of 2.49 for the male L. macrolepis and 1.81 for the female. The b value was 3.22 for the male M. engeli and 3.41 for the female. The b value of the fish was higher during the dry season. The Fulton’s condition factor of the male L. macrolepis was 1.19, and that of the female was 1.19. The relative condition factor of this species was 100.11 and 100.01 for males and females, respectively. The Fulton condition factor of male M. engeli was 1.05 and that of the female was 1.06. The relative weight condition factors were 101.08 and 100.61 for the male and female, respectively.   Conclusions: The growth pattern of M. engeli tends to be isometric, whereas that of L. macrolepis has a negative allometric growth pattern. The condition factors indicate that the Lambada Lhok waters are still in good condition and support the growth of the mullets, but M. engeli is more adaptable than L. macrolepis.

Yellowfin tuna, Thunnus albacares (Bonnaterre, 1788) is one of the important economically for tuna species that spread in Indonesian waters, including in WPP 572 (Indian Ocean west coast of Sumatra). One important aspect relating to sustainable utilization is the growth pattern and the condition factor. This study aims to examine growth patterns and factor conditions of yellowfin tuna in the Eastern Indian Ocean. The number of fish samples measured in length and weight is 7,550 with length range from 76-176 cm (average: 129.03 cm) and mode at 150 cm. The length weight relationship of the species is W=4x10-5L2.842 (R2 0,957). In general the growth pattern of yellowfin tuna is negative allometric which means that the length increase is faster than the weight. The average relative condition factor of yellowfin tuna is 0.975 with a tendency to decrease along with the increasing of its length. The highest relative condition factor occurred at the length class of 80 cm with 1,061 and the lowest occurred at length 170 cm with 0.918. The monthly relative condition factor generally increased twice in one year from February to June and from July to December.

Bharadhirajan P, Mahadevan G, Murugesan P, Murugan S, Pouladi M, Abbaspour Naderi R. 2019. Relative condition factor, length-weight relationship, and growth of three-spotted flounder, Pseudorhombus triocellatus (Bloch & Schneider, 1801) from Parangipettai Coast, India. Biodiversitas 20: 373-379. The three-spotted flounder, Pseudorhombus triocellatus is usually caught as trawl by-catch from Parangipettai coastal waters but regrettably, limited information on its age structure and growth is available. Hence, the present study aims to understand some basic parameters of its biology and growth. A total of 759 specimens (360 males and 399 females) ranging from 4 cm to 13 cm in total length (TL) and 5.26-35.41 g in weight were collected from the trawl catches of Parangipettai and Mudasalodai landing center during January–December 2015. The estimated growth coefficient (b) value for males (2.797) was greater than 3 and for females (3.023) was less than 3. The relative condition factor (Kn) values of females were higher than males except during February, June, and September. The values of asymptotic length (L∞) obtained in this study using various methods didn’t vary significantly (P>0.05). The most appropriate values of asymptotic length (Lα) for males were 137.11 mm and for females were 141.75 mm. The most appropriate values of growth rate (K) for males were 0.397 yr-1 and for females were 0.410 yr-1. The estimated length at age 0 (t0) for males and females were 0.197 mm and 0.292 mm, respectively. The longevity (tmax) of males and females P. triocellatus were 2.04 years and 2.24 years, respectively. The result of this study provides basic information for future studies.
