This research aims to present a Facebook-based collaborative learning (CL) framework that supports initial development of social negotiation and debate competencies. This framework has implications for the International Debate Education Association (IDEA, 2018) that aims to promote the opportunity to debate, breaking down barriers of location, race and class while extending the boundaries of online-learning. The guidelines for CL and social negotiation in this study are based on social constructivist theory with the ethical system that value safe and structured environment for debate and negotiation. The integration of Facebook as an information and communication technology (IICT) provides conditions of CL and social negotiation, multiple modes and methods of learning and multiple perspectives, to achieve learning goals. This practical framework under the guidelines of design science research methodology (DSRM) motivates learners to actively engage in the CL and social negotiation processes with empathy, self- control, endurance and reasoning to develop critical thinking and awareness. This study will contribute to the World Universities Debating Championship (WUDC) that aims to complement communication skills of students with a culture of research and critical thinking. Experts reviewed and confirmed the validity of the framework. Three successive iterations working with Facebook members and experts in informal learning were conducted to demonstrate and validate how learners started developing social negotiation and debate competencies.

This paper aims to present a Web 2.0-based collaborative Learning framework based on the social constructivist theory promoting lifelong learning. The Web 2.0 provides conditions of collaborative learning, multiple modes and methods of learning and  multiple perspective to achieve learning goals. This practical framework under the guidelines of design science research methodology allows learners to actively engage in the learning process, construct own knowledge and use to solve real-world problems collaboratively. Experts reviewed and confirmed the validity of the framework. Three successive iterations, working with 42 students in formal learning and Facebook members in informal learning were conducted to demonstrate and validate how learners started developing critical thinking, self-regulation and use of knowledge. The framework contributes to the practice of lifelong learning with emphasis on developing sustainability competencies that enable learners to gain more skills in applying different problem-solving frameworks to complex daily life  problems.

The research aimed to design and evaluate an innovative Web 2.0-based collaborative learning with the Islamic ethical system to support Islamicisation and the practice of Islam as a way of life that is the main goal of Islamic education. This is in response to the lesser amount of focus in Islamic education on the real example of integrating ICT into the collaborative learning process that could support social constructivist learning goals and skills for use of Islamic knowledge in daily life. The most important argument is that the students should be given an appropriate and practical platform where they can practice collaboratively and share their experiences that design science research methodology and Facebook features in this study could support these needs and arguments. Expert review, user testing were conducted and quality, effectiveness and usability of developed Web 2.0-based collaborative learning confirmed.

Service-learning pedagogy provides practical learning experience for students by integrating community service with academic learning. However, experience is not enough, reflection on that experience is essential to produce new understanding. The concept of collaborative reflection has been recognized recently however, there is lack of research on how to structure guided collaborative reflection to view the process of knowledge building and how technologies can support it. To shed light on this issue, this study proposed a computational workflow of structured collaborative reflection which is adopted from integrated collaborative reflection model and implement a prototype (i.e. named as ‘Co-Reflective’) to proof the concept how Computer Supported Collaborative Reflection System (CSCRS) is supporting collaborative critical thinking and knowledge building. For this purpose, design science research methodology was employed in this study. The evaluation of Co-Reflective is provided where we asked our participants to evaluate their experience and give feedback about system. Based on the positive feedback of participants we conclude that Co-Reflective can effectively support for guided collaborative reflection activities to promote collaborative critical thinking and knowledge building. Implementation of Co-Reflective not only addresses the limitations of current technologies but also contribute in the body of knowledge by presenting the concept of integrated collaborative reflection model that promotes collaborative critical thinking and knowledge building. In the global trucking industry, vertical collaboration between shippers and carriers is attained by intermediaries, called brokers. Brokers organize carriers for a shipper in accordance with its quality and price requirements, and support carriers to collaborate horizontally by sharing a large distribution order from a shipper. Brokers also act as trustees, preventing the passing of private information of any party to the others. Despite these benefits, intermediaries in the trucking industry are involved in several sustainability problems, including high costs, high levels of carbon emissions, high percentages of empty miles, low-capacity utilizations, and driver shortages. Several studies have acknowledged the importance of improving collaboration to address these problems. Obviously, the major concern of brokers is not collaboration, but rather to optimize their own gains. This paper investigates the potential of blockchain technology to improve collaboration in the trucking industry, by eliminating brokers while preserving their responsibilities as organizers and trustees. This paper extends the transportation control tower concept from the logistics literature, and presents a system architecture for its implementation through smart contracts on a blockchain network. In the proposed system, the scalability and privacy of trucking operations are ensured through integration with privacy-preserving off-chain computation and storage solutions (running outside of the blockchain). The potential of this design artifact for fostering collaboration in the trucking industry was evaluated by both blockchain technology experts and trucking industry professionals.
