Ranking of Indian Research Intensive Higher Education Institutions using Multiple Ranking Methodologies a Correlation Analysis

This article ranks the same set of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in India using four different ranking methodologies, namely, i) NIRF (Overall): used for Overall category of India Rankings; ii) NIRF (Only Research and Professional Practices parameters); iii) Research Ranking Methodology; a new methodology evolved for ranking of research-intensive institutions under NIRF; and vi) IFQ2A index developed by Spanish group of scientists. The four sets of ranked institutions were obtained using methodologies mentioned above and correlation analysis was carried out on these four sets using Pearson Bivariate Correlation. It was found that a very strong and positive correlation exists between ranking of HEIs using new methodology (R2M) evolved for ranking of research-intensive institutions and ranking by HEIs using IFQ2A Index.

During 2020, the world faced the unusual situation of COVID-19 infections outbreak and at the same time people and governments faced the changes in lifestyle that was forced by the measures taken to manage the crises. Measures as social and physical distancing, in addition to self-quarantine, have been imposed by governments worldwide. Education sector was affected by the measures. Students were out of school worldwide. Education moved to the online and remote learning, posing new challenges for students and teachers. The new lifestyle caused stress for many people al around the world, students included. This research aims to investigate students’ behavior during 2020 on the level of stress, desire to study, laziness and concentration and gender differences. Through a cross-sectional online survey among 254 students of higher education institutions in Albania, was found out that stress levels of students in higher education institutions were higher among female students compared to male students. The research shows that stress has negative correlation to the desire to study and concentration and positive correlation to laziness, while the desire to study has negative correlation to laziness and positive correlation to concentration. Through linear regression analysis, this study provides insights on the factors that have influenced students’ feelings during pandemic and what can be done for improvement.

Higher education institutions (HEIs) are asked more and more to be community engaged. In fact, governments have become more sensitive regarding the role and the contributions of these institutions in the development of the society in general and students’ skills in specific. Community engagement (CE) has also become an important part of the quality accreditation framework in several countries. Through this, researchers tried to demonstrate a positive correlation between the publication of the quality audit reports and the generation of positive outcomes in terms of CE. The study notified a certain decrease in terms of recommendations related to the standard of CE in comparison with the other areas of quality assessment. However, it was not possible to establish a positive correlation between the publication of quality reports and the decrease of the number of recommendations. Researchers concluded that the institutional engagement in CE activities appears to be a more strategic imposed tool made under the constraints of the quality accreditation standards, rather than the self-awareness and self-engagement of the HEIs.

Psychological capital, which is one of the developing areas of positive organizational behavior, is seen as a psychological resource that can encourage development and performance among employees. In the field of sports education, increasing the psychological capital levels of the employees and increasing the performance and job satisfaction can be effective. The aim of this study is to determine the psychological capital, job performance and job satisfaction levels of academic staff working in higher education institutions offering sports education in terms of various variables and to examine the relationship between them. The study sample consisted of a total of 122 sports science academicians, including 30 female and 92 males, who worked in different regions of Turkey. The Organizational Psychological Capital Scale, Job Performance and Job Satisfaction Scales were used as data collection tools in the study. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Tukey HSD and correlation test. According to the findings obtained in the research, a high level of positive correlation was found between the psychological capital dimensions and job performance. Again, a moderately positive correlation was found between the psychological resilience, hope and self-efficacy dimensions of the psychological capital and job satisfaction.

Choice of profession is a social phenomenon that every person has to face in life. Numerous studies convince us that not only the well-being of a person depends on the chosen work, but also his attitude to himself and life in general, therefore, the right and timely professional choice is very important. Research about factors of career self-determination of students of higher education institutions in Ukraine shows that self-determination is an important factor in the socialization of young person, and the factors that determine students' career choices become an actual problem of nowadays. The present study involved full-time and part-time students of Institute of Philology and Mass Communications of Open International University of Human Development "Ukraine" in order to examine the factors of career self-determination of students of higher education institutions (N=189). Diagnostic factors of career self-determination of students studying in the third and fourth year were carried out using the author's questionnaire. Processing of obtained data was carried out using the Excel 2010 program; factorial and comparative analysis were applied. Results of the study showed that initial stage of career self-determination falls down on the third and fourth studying year at the university, when an image of future career and career orientations begin to form. At the same time, the content of career self-determination in this period is contradictory and uncertain, therefore, the implementation of pedagogical support of this process among students is effective.

This study aims to analyze the effect of reputation, competence on customer loyalty with customer satisfaction as an intervening variable. The population in this study were students of private tertiary institutions in Central Java who are members of Services for Higher Education Institutions Region VI, while a sample of 5 private universities, using the purposive sampling method, was taken with the Slovin formula of 190 respondents. The analysis technique uses regression analysis. Research results show the customer satisfaction variable can be an intervening variable or able to mediate between the direct influence of the reputation variable and the competency variable on customer loyalty variables.
