The Relationship

The objects and their functions are configured depending on how they will be used, assuming they can be used as archives’ tools, material culture inputs, generators of memories or simply perform the function for which they were designed. Thus, it becomes necessary to discuss the functions of museum objects and culture. To this end, the relations created between the items exhibited and the exhibition design in the process of memory elaborating will be identified, considering that both are inserted in an institutional space configured as Theater of Memory. The argument is supported by concepts from Hooper-Greenhill, Meneses and Ramos. As a case study, the exhibition Renato Russo, from the Museu da Imagem e do Som of São Paulo, was elected, including the description of the chosen objects and the dynamics created between the exhibition space, the objects and the visitor.

ABSTRACTThe article seeks to demonstrate the relationship between project theory and design practice in the course of Architecture and Urbanism at the University Anhembi Morumbi - São Paulo - Brazil from the application of the Theory of Project-Based Learning (PBL) in order to understand the interrelationship between teaching, research and extension. As a case study we opted for an architectural and urban project, called Boulevard Immigration which is being developed by students and teachers in the Model Office of Architecture and Urbanism at the University Anhembi Morumbi in partnership with Immigration Museum in São Paulo. The importance of this theme is to promote a debate on the relationship between theory and practice in the development of education in Architecture and Urbanism courses, stimulating critical, creative, collaborative and reflective student formation. As investigative procedure method was chosen a bibliographic exploratory research on the Project-Based Learning as a teaching tool that encourages the development of reflection, collaboration and responsibility with social manners and democratic behavior. As final considerations it is clear that the application of PBL provides the students and teachers a set of tools that stimulates the relationship between theory and practice in teaching and learning.RESUMOO artigo visa demonstrar a relação entre teoria e prática projetual no curso de Arquitetura e Urbanismo da Uni-versidade Anhembi Morumbi- São Paulo- Brasil, a partir da aplicação da Teoria do Aprendizado Orientado ao Projeto (AOP) visando compreender a inter-relação entre ensino, pesquisa e extensão. Como estudo de caso optou-se por um projeto arquitetônico/urbanístico, denominado de Boulevard Imigração que está sendo desenvolvido por alunos e auxiliados por professores no Escritório Modelo de Arquitetura e Urbanismo da Universidade Anhembi Morumbi em parceria com técnicos do Museu da Imigração, em São Paulo. A importância deste tema é de promover um debate sobre a relação entre teoria e prática no desenvolvimento do ensino nos cursos de Arquitetura e Urbanismo, estimulando a formação crítica, criativa, colaborativa e reflexiva do estudante. Como método de procedimento investigativo optou-se por uma pesquisa exploratória bibliográfica sobre o Aprendizado Orientado ao Projeto como um instrumento de ensino que estimula o desenvolvimento da reflexão, da colaboração e da responsabilidade com modos sociais e democráticos de comportamento. Como considerações finais percebe-se que a aplicação da Teoria AOP fornece à discente e docentes um conjunto de ferramentas que estimula a relação entre teoria e prática no ensino e aprendizagem. Contato principal: [email protected]

Abstract Manufacturing in metropolitan areas has been drastically transformed. This case study of São Paulo, Brazil contributes new insights to debates about urban economies by shedding light on micro-urban manufacturing – an activity that, despite its pervasiveness, is usually left out of planning theory and discourses. First, I broadly frame this debate by retracing the relationship between economic activity and urban development in the historical making of São Paulo. Second, I analyze micro-manufacturing as a segment within the broader context of manufacturing, highlighting its relevance, ubiquity, and resilience. Next, I examine micro-manufacturing activities by themselves and point out at their heterogeneity. Finally, I describe the emergence of two unique geographies of micro-urban manufacturing in the city.

Resumo: O presente texto objetiva uma abordagem, no interior do pensamento de Ernst Bloch (1885/1977), acerca da relação entre marxismo e utopia: um vínculo incomum no interior do marxismo, comumente tido numa oposição inconciliável. Daí a apropriação do termo “herético” em referência ao marxismo do autor alemão: a expressão é usada não em sentido pejorativo, mas apenas para situar seu distanciamento do marxismo vulgar, bem como sua intenção de crítica radical dessa tradição. Aqui entendemos que é, em particular, por meio da relação entre marxismo e utopia que o pensamento de Ernst Bloch aparece como um projeto inelutavelmente político com vistas a uma filosofia da práxis concreta na principal obra do autor: O Princípio esperança (Das Prinzip Hoffnung) [1954/1959]. Neste livro encontramos, com efeito, a tentativa de pensar a atualidade do marxismo para o contexto do século XX, a era das catástrofes, conforme definição do historiador Eric Hobsbawm. Palavras-chave: Marxismo. Cultura.  Abstract: This paper presents an approach within the thinking of Ernst Bloch (1885/1977) about the relation between Marxism and Utopia: an unusual link within Marxism, commonly held in an irreconcilable opposition. Hence the appropriation of the term "heretical" in reference to the German author's Marxism: the expression is used not in a pejorative sense, but only to situate its distancing from vulgar Marxism, as well as its intention of a radical critique of this tradition. Here we understand that it is particularly through the relationship between Marxism and Utopia that Ernst Bloch's thought appears as an ineluctably political project with a view to a philosophy of concrete praxis in the principal work of the author: The Principle Hope (Das Prinzip Hoffnung) [1954/1959]. In this book we find, in effect, the attempt to think the actuality of Marxism in the context of the age of catastrophe - as defined by Eric Hobsbawm - that is, the long twentieth century that experienced the extreme barbarism of the concentration camp, of which the thinker in question, Jewish and Communist, managed to escape.  Keywords: Marxism. ABSTRACTBackground: Anemia and dementia are common diseases among the elderly, but conflicting data are available regarding an association between these two conditions. We analyzed data from the São Paulo Ageing & Health Study to address the relationship between anemia and dementia.Methods: This cross-sectional observational study included participants aged 65 years and older from a deprived area of the borough of Butantan, São Paulo, Brazil. Data about demographics, education, income, and cognitive and daily life function were collected, as well as blood samples. Anemia and dementia were defined according to WHO and DSM-IV criteria, respectively.Results: Of the 2267 subjects meeting the inclusion criteria, 2072 agreed to participate in the study; of whom 1948 had a valid total blood count and were included in the analysis. Anemia was diagnosed in 203 (10.2%) participants and dementia in 99 (5.1%). The frequency of anemia was higher in patients with dementia according to univariate analysis (odds ratio (OR) = 2.00, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 1.17–3.41, p = 0.01), but this association was not present after adjusting for age (OR = 1.33, 95% CI = 0.76–2.33, p = 0.32). Further multivariate adjustment did not change the results.Conclusion: Although anemia and dementia are frequent disorders in older people, we found their relationship to be mediated exclusively by aging in this low-income population from São Paulo.

No atual ambiente competitivo é imperativo que as empresas busquem a contínua satisfação dos consumidores, a fim de atingir a fidelização. Diante da importância da satisfação para as empresas, este estudo analisa o grau de satisfação e propõe melhorias contínuas para um restaurante no interior de São Paulo. Para isso, aplicou-se o Método de Análise e Solução de Problemas – MASP, juntamente com um questionário para identificação do nível de satisfação dos consumidores. Os resultados indicaram que o atendimento foi o fator de insatisfação dos consumidores. Diante disso, foi elaborado um plano de ação que resultou na programação de um aplicativo e treinamentos aos funcionários, com o objetivo de melhorar o atendimento e obter melhores resultados.
