Cancer is still a deadly disease that haunts people. Once there is a malignant tumor, patients need to receive a series of expensive, complex and painful treatments. Even so, cancer still causes high mortality, for its ability to easily metastasizing to other organs, without effective cures for any kind of cancer so far. Therefore, researchers have been trying to explore its mechanism and find ways to inhibit its development and discover new cure from various aspects. The latest research found that Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transitions (EMT) may be related to cancer, especially in the metastasis. It can be a breakthrough finding that render cancer a curable disease. In this paper, we systematically introduce the definition, classification, mechanism, influencing factors of EMT and its relationship with cancer metastasis and provide new angles and ideas for further exploring all levels of signal pathways and cancer treatment.

Breast cancer is a malignant tumor that occurs in the epithelial tissue of the breast, mostly in female. At present, drug resistance has emerged in the treatment of breast cancer. Therefore, the discovery of new drugs for breast cancer is particularly important. Some peptides have been found to have anti-cancer effects. This article reviews the recent discoveries of anti-breast cancer peptides, hoping to provide some help for the development of breast cancer treatment.

Glioma is the most common intracranial malignant tumor, and its specific pathogenesis has been unclear, which has always been an unresolved clinical problem due to the limited therapeutic window of glioma. As we all know, surgical resection, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy are the main treatment methods for glioma. With the development of clinical trials and traditional treatment techniques, radiotherapy for glioma has increasingly exposed defects in the treatment effect. In order to improve the bottleneck of radiotherapy for glioma, people have done a lot of work; among this, nano-radiosensitizers have offered a novel and potential treatment method. Compared with conventional radiotherapy, nanotechnology can overcome the blood–brain barrier and improve the sensitivity of glioma to radiotherapy. This paper focuses on the research progress of nano-radiosensitizers in radiotherapy for glioma.

In classical oncological literature two mechanisms for tissue aggression in patients with cancer have been described. The first is the progressive invasion, infiltration and destruction of tissues surrounding primary malignant tumor or their metastases; the other includes alterations produced in remote sites that are not directly affected by any focus of disease, the so called paraneoplastic phenomenon. The non-invaded tissue which surrounds a primary malignant tumor or its metastases has been usually considered a normal tissue . In this work we describe the ultrastructural changes observed in hepatocytes located next to metastases from diverse malignant tumors.Hepatic biopsies were obtained surgically in patients with different malignant tumors which metatastized in liver. Biopsies included tumor mass, the zone of macroscopic contact between the tumor and the surrounding tissue, and the tissue adjacent to the tumor but outside the macroscopic area of infiltration. The patients (n = 5), 36–75 years old, presented different tumors including rhabdomyosarcoma, leiomyosarcoma, pancreas carcinoma, biliar duct carcinoma and colon carcinoma. Tissue samples were processed with routine techniques for transmission electron microscopy and observed in a Hitachi H-500 electron microscope.

Abstract. Which data to analyze, and how, are fundamental questions of all empirical research. As there are always numerous flexibilities in data-analytic decisions (a “garden of forking paths”), this poses perennial problems to all empirical research. Specification-curve analysis and multiverse analysis have recently been proposed as solutions to these issues. Building on the structural analogies between primary data analysis and meta-analysis, we transform and adapt these approaches to the meta-analytic level, in tandem with combinatorial meta-analysis. We explain the rationale of this idea, suggest descriptive and inferential statistical procedures, as well as graphical displays, provide code for meta-analytic practitioners to generate and use these, and present a fully worked real example from digit ratio (2D:4D) research, totaling 1,592 meta-analytic specifications. Specification-curve and multiverse meta-analysis holds promise to resolve conflicting meta-analyses, contested evidence, controversial empirical literatures, and polarized research, and to mitigate the associated detrimental effects of these phenomena on research progress.
