AbstractThe present study describes an efficient and ecofriendly, ultrasound, one-pot click cycloaddition approach for the construction of a novel series of 1,4-disubstituted-1,2,3-triazoles tethered with fluorinated 1,2,4-triazole-benzothiazole molecular conjugates. It involved three-component condensation of the appropriate bromoacetamide benzothiazole, sodium azide and 4-alkyl/aryl-5-(2-fluorophenyl)-3-(prop-2-ynylthio)-1,2,4-triazoles4a-ethrough a Cu(I)-catalyzed 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction. This approach involvesin situgeneration of azidoacetamide benzothiazole, followed by condensation with terminal alkynes in the presence of CuSO4/Na-ascorbate in aqueous DMSO under both conventional and ultrasound conditions. Some of the designed 1,2,3-triazole conjugates6a-owere recognized for their antimicrobial activity against some bacterial and fungal pathogenic strains.

Background:A novel copper-catalyzed synthesis of substituted-1,2,3-triazole derivatives has been developed and performed by Huisgen 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction of azides with alkynes. The reaction is one-pot multicomponent. Objective:We state the advancement and execution of a methodology allowing for the synthesis of some new substituted 1,2,3-triazole analogues with antimicrobial activity. Methods:A series of triazole derivatives was synthesized by Huisgen 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction of azides with alkynes. The structures of the synthesized compounds were elucidated and confirmed by 1H NMR, IR, MS and elemental analysis. All the synthesized compounds were tested for their antimicrobial activity against a series of strains of Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli for antibacterial activity and against the strains of Candida albicans, Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus nigar for antifungal activity, respectively. Results and Conclusion:From the antimicrobial data, it was observed that all the newly synthesized compounds showed good to moderate level of antibacterial and antifungal activity.

A new series of spiropyrrolidine compounds containing indole/indazole moieties as side chains have been accomplished via a one-pot multicomponent synthesis. The method uses the 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction between N-alkylvinylindole/indazole and azomethine ylides, prepared in situ from cyclic/acyclic amino acids. The 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition proceeds efficiently under thermal conditions to afford the regio- and stereospecific cyclic adducts.

Our synthetic approach for the assembly of structurally complex spirooxindole heterocyclic hybrids was based on an ionic liquid, [bmim]Br mediated one-pot three-component cascade reaction strategy involving 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction of N-1-(2-pyridinylmethyl)-3,5-bis[(E)-arylmethylidene]tetrahydro-4(1H)-pyridinones and azomethine ylide generated in situ from isatin and L-phenyl alanine, affording a series of spirooxindole–pyrrolidine heterocyclic hybrids in good-to-excellent yields. In addition to serving as the reaction medium, [bmim]Br also functioned as a catalyst in this cycloaddition reaction and hence accelerated the reaction rate affording the cycloadducts in short reaction time.

A one-pot, regioselective 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of in situ generated (diethoxyphosphoryl)difluoromethyl nitrile oxide toward selected alkenes and alkynes is reported. This protocol enables facile access to 3,5-disubstituted isoxazolines and isoxazoles bearing...

The N-alkylation of 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane (PTA) with ortho-, meta- and para-substituted nitrobenzyl bromide under mild conditions afforded three hydrophilic PTA ammonium salts, which were used to obtain a new set of seven water-soluble copper(I) complexes. The new compounds were fully characterized and their catalytic activity was investigated for the low power microwave assisted one-pot azide–alkyne cycloaddition reaction in homogeneous aqueous medium to obtain disubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles. The most active catalysts were immobilized on activated carbon (AC), multi-walled carbon nanotubes (CNT), as well as surface functionalized AC and CNT, with the most efficient support being the CNT treated with nitric acid and NaOH. In the presence of the immobilized catalyst, several 1,4-disubstituted-1,2,3-triazoles were obtained from the reaction of terminal alkynes, organic halides and sodium azide in moderate yields up to 80%. Furthermore, the catalyzed reaction of terminal alkynes, formaldehyde and sodium azide afforded 2-hydroxymethyl-2H-1,2,3-triazoles in high yields up to 99%. The immobilized catalyst can be recovered and recycled through simple workup steps and reused up to five consecutive cycles without a marked loss in activity. The described catalytic systems proceed with a broad substrate scope, under microwave irradiation in aqueous medium and according to “click rules”.

In order to achieve good dispersion of graphene in polyimide (PI), catecholated graphene (G-Cat) was prepared by 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction of N-methylglycine and 3,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde with graphene sheets. G-Cat/PI composites were prepared by in situ polymerization with pyromellitic dianhydride and 4,4-oxydianiline in the presence of G-Cat. The successful modification of graphene was proved by infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and transmission electron microscopy. The comprehensive properties of G-Cat/PI composites were studied by tensile, dynamic mechanical analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, and friction and wear tests. By observing the morphology of wear marks, the friction and wear properties of the composites were emphatically analyzed. Therefore, graphene/PI composites were expected to have broad application prospects in lubrication and wear resistance.
