The article is aimed at developing approaches to regional innovation policy within the framework of the model of innovative interaction of the quadrangle: power – science (education) – business – civil society. Based on the analysis, systematization and generalization of data on the tourism industry of Ukraine in general and of the Poltava region in particular, it was found out that, primary, it has significant potential for economic development, especially for small business enterprises; secondly, the potential to become a platform for the development of innovative interaction of the quadrangle: power – science (education) – business – civil society. The publication proposes an algorithm of development of strategic approaches to development of the tourism potential of Poltava region on the basis of RIS3 methodology. These strategies facilitate the economic transformation through cooperation in the field of innovations of regional governing bodies, small business enterprises, NGOs and representatives of the scientific and educational environment, that is, take into account local conditions for conducting tourism business. On the basis of the typical RIS3 management system, the management structure at the local level has been worked out and the priorities for the development of the tourism potential of Poltava region for the near future are determined. At this, all participants of such a system are tasked with a certain cultural change, namely: formation of practices of openness, mutual trust, interaction, mastery of new knowledge. The prospect of such interaction is to provide new opportunities for business representatives (including small businesses), NGOs, and the scientific community to participate in the processes of preparation and decision-making through establishing communications with relevant local authorities, building new horizontal economic and social cooperations, sharing knowledge and experience. RIS3 proposed for Poltava region is a platform for the formation of new economic and social relations in the tourism sector.

An annual scientific practical conference “Natural science education in a comprehensive school – 2019” took place in Aukstaitian town Kupiskis. It is known that Kupiskis is a town in the North East of Lithuania, in the eastern edge of Middle Lithuania lowland. The time of the conference is traditional – the second part of April, i.e., from 25th to 27th.. It is worth to remember that a conference “came travelling” from Little Lithuania (Lithuania Minor) to Aukstaitia (Lithuanian Highland) (In 2018, the 24th conference took place in Silutė Martynas Jankus Basic school). Thus, a conference is still “travelling”. On the first conference day, plenary reports and two section works took place. A useful plenary report was made by Eugenija Rudnickaite from Vilnius university. A fossil fuel collection was discussed and presented; some practical tips were given about the application of the collection for natural science education. The second report was made by dr. Agnaldo Arroio. The report was very actual because the actualities of modern media application in education were discussed, also there was a discussion on natural science literacy formation questions. The third report which was made by Vilnius university lecturer dr. Rita Makarskaitė-Petkevičienė, focused on the current natural science questions in primary school. The fourth report, which was made by Latvian university professor Andris Broks, completed the plenary meeting. As always, the professor analysed methodological, systemic natural science education questions. The latter report was focussed on the changes /alteration in nature, society, education and so on. Most of the conference reports were presented in the form of articles and published in the conference proceedings. One can find full texts in the database at: http://oaji.net/journal-archive-stats.html?number=1984&year=2019&issue=14379 Two conference days passed in the blink of an eye. Totally, 66 participants were enrolled in it. The work of the conference went smoothly, therefore it is worthy to thank all the members of the conference organisational committee, and especially the pro-gymnasium administration. Natural science education “journey” continues. The 26th conference will take place on 24th -25th April 2020 in Trakai Vytautas Magnus gymnasium. This gymnasium is the main partner of another conference. So, from Aukstaitia we move to Trakai, a city of Vilnius district, surrounded by lakes. What is more, Trakai is the cultural capital of Lithuania, 2020. Keywords: national conference, science education, science and technological education movement.

This review is devoted to the 20th national scientific practical conference „Natural Science Education in a Comprehensive School – 2014“. It is obvious, that this conference is devoted to topical issues of natural science education. Every year teachers from different schools of Lithuania, and also the teachers and scientists from different foreign countries attending the conference. The first national conference „Natural science education in comprehensive school“ took place in Upyte, Panevezys district, Antanas Belazaras basic school. At that time, the organisers did not have a clear vision concerning the future of that conference, because that was the time when Lithuanian education „construction“ was going on. The beginning was very hard – there were no finances, no support. However, there was a clear perception – this is necessary, this is important. The years passed. The second conference took place in 1996, the third in 1997… and now we have 2014. Owing to colleagues and like-minded people, this conference is up to now. The 20th national scientific practical conference took place. What is more, it „grew up“ – both quantitatively and qualitatively. During the mentioned period, various natural science subject, primary class teachers, pre-school education, non-formal education specialists, education managers, high school teachers, scientists and so on took part in the conference. We were learning from each other. It is obvious, that natural science and technological education success and effectiveness are determined not only by current and newly written textbooks, computers and other modern technologies, renovated school material basis, but, first of all, by education managers’ and organisers’ attitude and understanding. Equally the same understanding should also get stronger in natural science subject teachers’ consciousness. I hope, that conferences contribute significantly to this, and all participating in them, carry out a noble mission – develop natural science and technological education movement not only in Lithuania, but also outside its borders. Time is ruthless, memory is not all-powerful. We must save the memory and future education activities’ reference point. Twenty years is a certain epoch, during which a lot of changes occurred in the field of natural science and technological education. Some of the changes were that gave good results, the others – poor. However, all this is experience. A man is great and powerful in his mind; however, very often of a poor soul. He does not lack willingness and possibilities to create, however, at the same time he does not lack the willingness to destroy what has been created. Nature scientists’ worry is absolutely grounded. Today, it is not only natural education that is discussed about. It is more and more often discussed in a very broad context: natural science – technological – noospheric education. Therefore, a personal responsibility falls on us, natural science education specialists, for natural science education system creation and development. This is our primary responsibility and duty. Key words: national conference, science education, science and technological education movement.

This year, on April 24th-25th, the 21st National Scientific Practical Conference “Natural science education in a comprehensive school - 2015” took place. This time the participants of the conference gathered at Lazdijai district, Veisiejai gymnasium. The conference was organized by the scientific methodological centre “Scientia Educologica”, and the most important conference partners were - Veisiejai gymnasium and the weekly “Žaliasis pasaulis”. Traditionally, on the first day of the conference two plenary reports were made. Prof.dr. Vincentas Lamanauskas presented a report on the achieved results of the International project “MaT²SMc, Materials for Teaching Together: Science and Mathematics Teachers collaborating for better results”. There are prepared 33 integrated natural science education topics. The material will be presented in the project internet café http://www.mat2smc-project.eu/index.asp?lang=en. Lithuanian Educology University associate professor Rita Makarskaitė-Petkevičienė spoke about the importance of learning in nature. Speaking about primary class pupils’ natural science education, the speaker emphasized, that more possibilities should be made for the pupils to learn world cognition in natural surroundings, because this is the way to their better natural science competence. The colleagues from St. Petersburg made a historical report in which they discussed the questions of chemistry teaching methodology history in Russia. In the afternoon the work went on in two sections. In the first section the reports were mostly devoted to pre-school, primary and general natural science education problems. This year, the same way as every year, conference article collection was prepared and published. It is worth to mention, that since 2013 this publication has been serial. Totally13 articles are published in this year edition, in which various natural science problems are discussed. One can dare assert that a certain conference ideology has been formed already. On the one hand, conference is a nice connection “bridge” between academic and pedagogical (teacher) communities. Teachers share their experience, raise important problems, find out certain new information and so on. So, 21st national conference is a history already. As always, not everything was successfully recorded, not all interesting questions discussed. One has to believe, that natural science education movement will continue and develop. 22nd conference is expected to take place in Jonava, in April, 2016. Key words: national conference, science education, science and technological education movement.
