Objective: Standardized patients (SPs) are widely used in medical and other health professions education. At xxxx SPs have been used for teaching-learning and assessment of basic science medical students since January 2013. The opinion of SPs about their involvement in teaching-learning and assessment of students has been recently studied. The present study had the objective of studying student perception about various aspects of the program.Materials and Methods: The study was conducted towards end of March and beginning of April 2016. Student perception regarding the program was studied by noting their degree of agreement with a set of 25 statements. Free text comments were also obtained. Gender, nationality and semester of study of the respondents was noted. The total score was compared among different subgroups of respondents.Results: Ninety-eight of the 107 students (91.6%) participated. The mean ± SD total score was 92.33 ± 13.68 (maximum possible score being 125). The scores were significantly higher among first semester students compared to other semesters. Students agreed that interacting with SPs will prepare them for interacting with patients, for their licensing exams and improve their clinical skills. Students learn how to interact with persons from a different cultural background. Suggestions for further improvement were also obtained.    Conclusions: The response rate was high and students’ perception of the SP program was positive. Our experiences would be of special interest to educators in other medical schools with small and/or new SP programs. Background Any teaching and evaluation method can be considered as effective once they are judged by students.Objective This study was designed to obtain feedback on teaching and evaluation methods in the subject of clinical pharmacology among under graduate studentsMethods Feedback on teaching and evaluation method was taken from undergraduate students of 2009 batch and various approaches to teaching and evaluation are identified. To know the effect of these novel approaches of teaching and evaluation, student feedback was taken from subsequent batch 2010 and 2011 using a written validated questionnaire covering various aspects of teaching and evaluation methods.Results Under graduate students were satisfied with all teaching methods like lecture and pharmacological exercises. They showed preference for tutorials, short answer questions and revision classes where as they were not satisfied with seminar method of learning. All students felt that there should be more time for clinical pharmacology and pharmacological problem based exercises.. The pass percentage of the subsequent batch in university examinations improved from 75 % to 90%.Conclusion Based upon the student’s feedback, incorporation of suggestion obtained from the students resulted in improvement in performance of the students. Die mit dem Aufkommen der elektronischen Medien einhergehende Informationsflut hat die Erwartungen an den Dokumentationsdienst (DOKDI) der Schweizerischen Akademie der Medizinischen Wissenschaften verändert: Insbesondere Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) verlangt nicht nur die Beschaffung von Information, sondern auch eine Selektion hinsichtlich Qualität und Relevanz: Die sich aus der klinischen Situation ergebende Frage fordert eine Antwort, die inhaltlich richtig ist und in der konkreten Situation auch weiterhilft. Dem Ideal, sich durch kritische Lektüre der Originalarbeiten ein Bild über die vorhandene Evidenz für die Richtigkeit eines bestimmten Prozederes zu verschaffen, stehen in der Praxis meist Zeitmangel und methodische Schwierigkeiten im Weg; man wird sich deshalb oft auf die durch andere erarbeitete Evidenz abstützen müssen und z.B. die Cochrane Library konsultieren. Der DOKDI engagiert sich sowohl bei der Erarbeitung von systematischen Übersichtsarbeiten als auch bei der Dissemination der gefundenen Evidenz, indem er seine Erfahrung in der Dokumentation mit elektronischen Medien und die entsprechende Infrastruktur zur Verfügung stellt. Als Ergänzung zu diesen Aktivitäten hat die Akademie einen Grant zur Ausbildung von EBM-Tutoren gesprochen. In einem einwöchigen Kurs in Oxford werden Kliniker zu EBM-Tutoren ausgebildet: Dies wird zukünftig ermöglichen, vermehrt EBM-Workshops in der Schweiz durchzuführen.

Review articles are usually by invitation only. However, Review articles of current interest and high standard will be considered. Prospective work should not be back dated. There are also sections for Case Reports, Brief Communication, correspondence and medical news items. Authors should read the editorial policy and publication ethics before submitting their manuscripts. Authors should also use the appropriate reporting guidelines in preparing their manuscripts

The article describes modern motivational schemes aimed at the initiation, formation and development of learning and cognitive motivation of students. The schemes were developed using elements of gamification based on mobile technologies, which made it possible to increase the overall involvement of students in the search for solutions to the problems posed. The didactic potential of the games-сhallenges is considered. The structure of the challenge "Explanation", and stages of a QR-quest are presented. The model is concretized by educational products and student feedback, successfully tested.
