This study focuses on analysing the acceptance level with the online education among under graduate and post graduate students during period of pandemic especially during Covid-19. In this regard, student perception with the online education was analysed using the secondary data as collected from various sources. As the COVID-19 pandemic threatens the academic calendars, educational institutions around the world have been closed and about 70% of the students are engaged in the online education. Students faced various problems related to depression, poor internet activity and inconvenient home learning environment. The online education by the various e-techniques and methods has proven to a solution for colleges and universities, but still the success of online education depends on student’s perception and satisfaction level. The sudden transition from a face-to-face to virtual space causes a disruption to the students. Based on the findings of these study, the research implications for educational institutions and researchers are discussed.

Abstract Introduction This study aimed to explore the decision-making processes of raters during objective structured clinical examinations (OSCEs), in particular to explore the tacit assumptions and beliefs of raters as well as rater idiosyncrasies. Methods Thinking aloud protocol interviews were used to gather data on the thoughts of examiners during their decision-making, while watching trigger OSCE videos and rating candidates. A purposeful recruiting strategy was taken, with a view to interviewing both examiners with many years of experience (greater than six years) and those with less experience examining at final medical examination level. Results Thirty-one interviews were conducted in three centres in three different countries. Three themes were identified during data analysis, entitled ‘OSCEs are inauthentic’, ‘looking for glimpses of truth’ and ‘evolution with experience’. Conclusion Raters perceive that the shortcomings of OSCEs can have unwanted effects on student behaviour. Some examiners, more likely the more experienced group, may deviate from an organisations directions due to perceived shortcomings of the assessment. No method of assessment is without flaw, and it is important to be aware of the limitations and shortcomings of assessment methods on student performance and examiner perception. Further study of assessor and student perception of OSCE performance would be helpful.

Computer Based Testing has become a prominent method in student assessment in Nigeria and student perception on this testing technique is paramount. This study examined the perception of undergraduate students towards computer based testing by comparing several modules studied by Undergraduate students in Nigeria which constitutes a major gap in literature. Results showed that majority of students preferred computer based testing to paper based testing but were not will to adopt this technique in all courses. Results further showed majority of students showed preference to paper based tests in Mathematics more than 50% of students had below average grades when the CBT technique was implemented. Similarly, students showed poor grades in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics, results further showed the relationship between computer and anxiety and performance in in Mathematics .This study has implications for university administrators in the creation of policies for Computer based testing

Since the spring of 2020, practically all educational institutions have transferred instruction online. However, questions remain about whether online learning is as effective as face-to-face (F2F) one. This is especially relevant in the case of non-formal adult education, as students have competing demands on their time, established learning habits, and their relationship with a training provider is short-term. This paper compares results of students’ evaluation of teaching (SET) collected from two adult learner cohorts of similar demographic characteristics. While both cohorts had English language courses of the same core content and volume, one studied F2F, the other online. A Likert-type questionnaire form is used for the analysis. Analysis of the results from both groups reveals no statistically significant differences in students’ opinions. Moreover, students are consistent in their overall favorable attitude to both learning formats. A very slight preference towards F2F format is detected in some aspects of the course.

This study focuses on the lived experiences of nine university faculty who were attempting to implement inclusive teaching practices following university-sponsored faculty development. While the participants were each successful in their respective implementations, they all expressed anxiety at the beginning of the semester as well as at the end when they reflected upon the changes they made. This occurred despite deeply held motivations to change their teaching and make a difference for their students. The participants encountered barriers that centered on feelings related to self-confidence, student perception, and peer approval. Findings include descriptions of these anxieties and the supports that meaningfully helped them push through difficulties and sustain their journeys toward inclusive pedagogy.

Coronavirus-19 (COVID-19) is an emerging pandemic that has caused significant disruptions to education, resulting in marked scholar closures across the world. The present study documents the student perception of the online educational process at six universities in Saudi Arabia during the COVID-19 lockdown period. The individual variable factors, i.e., institution, sex, and blended learning, that might influence student perception were also investigated. In this respect, a questionnaire that assessed the impact of COVID-19 on the online learning process and student perception was emailed to a total of 17,230 students from 3 institutions (medical, applied health and dental students) affiliated with six universities in Saudi Arabia. Principal component analysis (PCA) was performed to determine the validity of the questionnaire. A total of 4850 (28%) students responded to the questionnaire and 46.9% (n = 2275) of the respondents were highly satisfied with their online education. Analyses of the scores from the students showed a highly significant difference (p = 0.000) between the male and female students. Applied health students (highly satisfied score = 63.13) were the most satisfied with their online education, while medical students (highly satisfied score = 39.3) were the least satisfied with this education. In addition, applied health, dental and medical students showed a significantly higher score in favor of blended learning after schools re-open (p = 0.000). Collectively, student satisfaction with online education was common, and blended learning was preferred over the traditional format by both genders and all the students. The present data provide interesting contributions and evidence for policy makers and implementers, which might be helpful for the judgment side of decision making.

Research indicates that retention and performance of undergraduate students increases when they perceive a cooperative and supportive educational community. The course syllabus is one of the first opportunities to influence student perception on their educational experience. Literature on syllabi suggests that learner-centered syllabi yield more positive student perceptions of teachers and the course as compared to traditional teacher-centered syllabi. Current research on the impacts of different syllabi constructs within construction education is lacking, and no studies could be found on whether these perceptions translate to student grades. This study used action research to better understand the impact of a learner-centered syllabus vs. a teacher-centered syllabus in an undergraduate construction management program. Student perception, faculty perception and student grades were measured between the learner-centered class and the teacher-centered class. The data was collected from four different classes, split among two courses, and taught by two faculty over the spring 2020 semester. Results suggested that the learner-centered syllabi appeared to motivate student engagement as well as impact both, the first impressions of the instructor and teacher-student relationship. However, it showed no difference in student grades.

The closure of schools due to the Covid-19 pandemic has forced all schools in Indonesia to be closed temporarily, therefore learning must be carried out online. Online learning is commonly carried out with teacher presentations and assignments therefore this makes learning monotonous and boring for students. So we need a medium that makes learning more interesting, namely with interactive powerpoints. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using interactive powerpoints in the online-based TGT model on thermochemistry material. This type of research is quasi-experimental research with a post-test only control group design. The data collection technique used the technique of daily test tests, documentation, and student perception questionnaires. The data were analyzed using the normality test, F test, and t test with a significance level of 5%. The results showed that before being given the treatment, the two classes were normally distributed, homogeneous variations and there was no difference in student absorption. After being given the treatment, the two classes had significant differences in absorption. Therefore it can be concluded that there is an effect of using interactive powerpoints in the online-based TGT model on thermochemistry material.
