Objective. Evaluate the General Physics courses (theory and laboratory) of the Science Teaching career with the university teaching staff, in the period from 2014 to 2019, to identify the strengths and weaknesses in the methodology and propose new educational strategies. Method. The research was conducted through a virtual survey with the LimeSurvey software to the teachers who have taught Physics courses for the Science Teaching career in the last five years; the survey was applied to the total population of 20 teachers, but only 12 of them answered it. The instrument was designed by the teaching staff working on the project to improve the laboratory manuals. The instrument analysis was carried out with the help of an Excel spreadsheet provided by the LimeSurvey software. The instrument was validated by IDESPO staff of the National University regarding the relevance of the content of the statements, the clarity of the questions, and the coherence with the objective of this study. Results. The structure and organization of the General Physics courses have a positive assessment by the teachers, who also showed a preference for the traditional lecturing; but even so, they are willing to train and learn new teaching strategies. Conclusions. The results of this investigation show that teachers are open to technological change and to working on the challenges that government policies have proposed.

This study aims to show the importance of evaluating the teaching performance level of the University teaching members. It also aims to provide the suggested mechanisms for evaluating the teaching performance of the teaching staff members of Sebha University. This study was based mainly on documents and analytic description to collect information about the importance and ways of evaluating teachers with reference to some of the international experiences on teaching performance development. This study concluded that the absence of an experienced entity that would develop the teaching performance of faculty members is one of the main reasons for the weak teaching performance at Sebha University. Based on the results of the study, it is recommended that there should be a planned system based on measured standards and criteria for evaluating staff members to improve the quality of teaching in the higher education domain.

This paper investigated the validity of two grammar - vocabulary tests (2A + 2B proficiency units in the academic year 2016-2017) at the Faculty of French Language and Culture, University of Languages and International Studies - Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The study aimed to evaluate the relevance of the content in these tests in comparison with the test specifications, to measure the difficulty index of each item and some indicators of the tests. The study results showed a relatively high validity of the investigated tests, with a better validity for the second test. However, the language level and items with irrelevant difficulty index should be reviewed to better fit the test specifications.

Introduction: Soft tissue tumors represent diagnostic challenge to general practicing pathologists because of overlap in morphologic features. The usual approach is to diagnose by presumed cell lineage. A major utility of immunohistochemistry is to identify a tumor being mesenchymal or nonmesenchymal and once mesenchymal lineage has been confirmed, histologic sub typing according to specific lineage may be achieved with help of lineage specific markers. Methods: The objective of this study was to analyse different types of soft tissue malignancies according to their type, site and age distribution, discuss the difficulties faced during morphologic examination and review the literature for role of ancillary techniques, particularly immunohistochemistry in diagnosing soft tissue sarcomas. All soft tissue malignancies reported from Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in three years period from April 2008 to March 2010 were included in the study. Results: Total 87 soft tissue malignancies were reported during study period. Most of these patients (58.6%) were male and the rest were female. These malignancies were found in all age groups. Youngest patient was newborn who was born with tongue mass and biopsy was performed on 13th day of life. However maximum numbers of tumors (41.4%) were seen in first two decades of life. Head and neck was the most common site .Rhabdomyosarcoma was the most common diagnosis. In 20 cases (23%) a definite opinion was not possible and vague terms like sarcoma, small round cell tumor, spindle cell malignancy, vascular tumor “likely” were used. Immunohistochemistry was advised in these cases. Conclusions: Only light microscopic examination of hematoxylin and eosin stained slide not sufficient at all times because there is morphologic overlap of soft tissue sarcomas with each other and with carcinomas and melanomas. Though immunohistochemistry is not a substitute for skilled interpretation of routinely stained slides but prove helpful to reach a more definite diagnosis. This work aims at illustrating to illustrate the design and the first results of a survey which involved 1849 university professors who were teaching courses at Bachelor's and Master's Degrees of University of Padova during the academic year 2012/13. The research is part of a project of improvement of the academic educational innovation and the quality of academic teaching. The kind of approach is an evaluative research which was conducted within the academic organization and carried out among peers, using a quali-quantitative mixed method. The data was directly obtained using a CAWI questionnaire which was distributed to the whole teaching staff, and it was linked to administrative data related to the educational offer and students' evaluation of teaching in the same academic year. After a preliminary analysis of the factors which affected the probability of answering to the questionnaire, the results were summarized using some indicators which showed the diffusion of good practices of teaching, support needs, beliefs, interest and availability of the respondents to discuss more extensively the questions of the survey. The results are presented considering as reference context of teaching action and learning activities the eight Schools into which the degree courses are organized. Lastly, we identified sub-groups of potential participants for the qualitative phase of the research: they were characterized by different levels of professional practice and interest in innovating university teaching and they will be the right subjects to involve in different and integrated activities directed to develop teachers' professional competences.
