The presented paper implements the authors' attempt to understand, on the basis of an activist approach, the design of the future in the educational strategies of Russian youth. Based on a conceptual socio-empirical analysis, the authors of the publication conclude that most young Russians share the positions of adaptability, actualism as a choice of educational strategy. This is determined by factors of an objective and subjective nature, where the objectification of social conditions acts as an influence on the subjective choice of youth. Noting the importance of social and territorial differentiation, the authors of the paper substantiate the provision on the design of the future, on the formation of lifestyles and a set of life goals of Russian youth as an opportunity to escape the limited pragmatic turn in education. As a final judgment, the relationship between the orientation to skilled activities and the configuration of responses to changes in the educational system is determined. It is concluded that in domestic social science and humanities there is a need to understand the educational strategies of Russian youth as the ability of Russian youth to design the image of the future, taking into account the growing influence of social innovations.

How does an online graduate business program become the fastest growing program in a short span of 5 years, in a category that has been showing constant decline in the last decade? This article takes a retrospective look at the journey from conception to launch and early implementation of an innovative online program at a large public university about half a decade before the pandemic. Extant research about online learning focuses on educational strategies, the changing roles of faculty in a new environment, or students’ satisfaction and performance in online learning programs or courses. This article takes a broad-based view to discuss details on the strategy, design, and development of a disruptive online graduate program built for scale. Given the accelerated transition into remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, our journey also has important implications from the forward-looking approach of half a decade ago for how higher education should navigate the digital future.

With the epidemiological contingency, the learning processes were modified by teaching with virtualization. The teaching staff implemented pedagogical strategies structuring methodologies, interaction dynamics, fulfilling the objectives set out in the educational curriculum. Objective: To implement pedagogical strategies involved in virtualization during the learning process in medical students. Methodology: A descriptive, observational study with a qualitative approach over a period of 8 months. The sample was 225 students from the 5th semester of the Surgeon Degree. Results: It was shown that group activities, synchronous online conferences have 68% approval, dynamics such as discussion forums have 85% approval. Video recording has 45%, essays 25%, and mind maps 30%. Conclusion: Implementing educational strategies allows assessing efficiency and effectiveness promoting learning for the development of professional intellect.

Aim: Patient knowledge and attitudes toward pharmacogenetic (PGx) testing may impact adoption of clinical testing. Methods: Questionnaires regarding knowledge, attitudes and ethics of PGx testing were distributed to 504 patients enrolled in the ADAPT study conducted at two urban hospitals in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Responses were assessed using multivariable logistic regression. Results: 311 completed the survey (62% response rate). 74% were unaware of PGx testing, but 79% indicated using PGx results to predict medication efficacy was important. In a multivariable model, higher education level (p = 0.031) and greater genetics knowledge (p < 0.001) were associated with more positive attitudes toward PGx testing. Conclusion: Greater patient knowledge of genetics was associated with a more positive attitude toward PGx testing, indicating that educational strategies aimed at increasing genetics knowledge may enhance adoption of PGx testing in the clinic.

ABSTRACT Research in cognitive psychology shows that expert clinicians make a medical diagnosis through a two step process of hypothesis generation and hypothesis testing. Experts generate a list of possible diagnoses quickly and intuitively, drawing on previous experience. Experts remember specific examples of various disease categories as exemplars, which enables rapid access to diagnostic possibilities and gives them an intuitive sense of the base rates of various diagnoses. After generating diagnostic hypotheses, clinicians then test the hypotheses and subjectively estimate the probability of each diagnostic possibility by using a heuristic called anchoring and adjusting. Although both novices and experts use this two step diagnostic process, experts distinguish themselves as better diagnosticians through their ability to mobilize experiential knowledge in a manner that is content specific. Experience is clearly the best teacher, but some educational strategies have been shown to modestly improve diagnostic accuracy. Increased knowledge about the cognitive psychology of the diagnostic process and the pitfalls inherent in the process may inform clinical teachers and help learners and clinicians to improve the accuracy of diagnostic reasoning. This article reviews the literature on the cognitive psychology of diagnostic reasoning in the context of cardiovascular disease.

Contemporary society has demanded innovative solutions for the uncertainties that the COVID-19 pandemic has imposed in our educational system. Gamification has long demonstrated that students' active engagement provides positive results if taken into account in the design of the educational strategies. One of the innovative solutions that this chapter proposes through the use of gamification is the tool of educational escape rooms. In order to do this, it provides three study cases implemented in the ESL classroom and the classroom of “Introduction to Literary Techniques” at the University of Granada. Doing so, it provides solutions and recommendations for the identified challenges to use these tools in the classrooms by introducing escape rooms within different educational scenarios as well as proposing affective pedagogies as a robust theoretical and methodological framework.

This chapter analyzes the disruptive unicorn of the 21st century, characterized by six of the most important digital disruptive innovations that will dominate the business ecosystem. A survey was applied to undergraduate students at Tecnologico de Monterrey in Mexico in 2019 to identify the students' perception of the unicorn. The hypothesis to be evaluated is that the undergraduate student has an unclear perception of the existence of the unicorn that could generate risks related to ethics and business power shifts in the world. An educational challenge is the need to develop the transversal competence of critical thinking related to digital disruptive innovations in the students. The educational strategies must evolve as fast as these digital disruptive innovations in order for the world to have citizens of a technological world in favor of humanity with the power of critical thinking and discernment. This is the challenge for the university educator.

The acquisition of health literacy levels is preponderant in enabling citizens to access, understand, and use health-related information in a more conscious and responsible way in making health decisions. The ACP model—assertiveness, clarity, and positivity—has revealed numerous positive results in health, an excellent contribution to health literacy, as it favors the acquisition of communication skills and therapeutic relationship between health professionals and patients. The use of pedagogical audiovisual techniques (PAT) is one of the best educational strategies in health and facilitates digital dissemination. This project aimed to raise the awareness of health professionals, through the PAT. As a methodology, the authors follow a literature review and the functional, interactive, and critical literacy model. They applied this PAT to health professionals, associated with a knowledge monitoring instrument. The use of the ACP model promotes an improvement in the quality of care provided and, in turn, resulting positive results in health.
