Increasing competition means that organisations are looking for new ways to ensure the equity of their brands, and due to the specifics of services, employees are undoubtedly one of the most important links in service brand equity creation, therefore consumer knowledge of employer brand and its equity elements can contribute to the perception towards it, change it and influence behavioural intentions. According to the theory of reasoned behaviour, attitude is an important determinant of behaviour, so the purpose of this article is to assess how elements of an employer’s brand equity influence attitude toward a service brand. After the exploratory factor analysis, 3 main elements of the employer’s brand equity were identified. An analysis of the empirical study also found that the employer brand image has the strongest effect on attitudes towards a service brand, while the effect of employer brand awareness and reputation has a weaker effect.

This study aims to investigate the impact of Social Media Activities on brand equity (brand awareness and brand image). A cross-sectional quantitative study has been conducted using a validated questionnaire distributed to a convenience sample of 362 participants who used one or more forms of an Airline’s social media. Multiple Regression analysis was performed using SPSS version 20 to test the hypotheses. Results revealed a significant impact of Social Media Activities as a whole on brand equity. It was found that entertainment, customization, interaction and EWOM significantly affected the brand image, while customization, trendiness, interaction and EWOM significantly affected brand awareness. This study is one of few to examine the impact of social media activities on brand equity towards Airlines in Middle Eastern countries. The study provided several theoretical and practical implications that can benefit airline managers in their marketing efforts using various social media activities.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of service quality (physical quality and staff behaviour) and brand equity (brand quality, brand awareness and brand image) on hotel restaurant food quality satisfaction and brand loyalty among international and local travellers in Malaysia. Design/methodology/approach A total of 354 valid questionnaires were collected to assess the measurement and structural model for reflective latent constructs using the two steps of covariance-based structural equation modelling. Findings The research findings suggest that while travellers’ nationality moderates the path between physical quality, staff behaviour and brand image on food quality satisfaction, it does not moderate the relationship between brand quality and brand awareness on food quality satisfaction. This finding further suggests that towards enhancing service quality and brand equity on food quality satisfaction and brand loyalty, managers should understand the important distinctions between international and local travellers. Originality/value Previous studies have mostly examined the impact of brand equity and service quality towards tourist satisfaction and very few studies have examined the impact of restaurant service quality and brand equity on consumer satisfaction and brand loyalty specifically among international and local travellers. This is one of the first few studies providing empirical evidence and discussions in this area.

Purpose – Although food product value and food safety is widely acknowledged as a critical concern by consumers, little empirical evidence exists regarding how food product value is created and how product risk decreases as a result of service-brand equity. The purpose of this paper is to explore whether food service-brand equity (i.e. brand awareness and brand image) affects consumer-perceived food value, food physical risk, and brand preference. Design/methodology/approach – In this study, data were collected from steakhouse consumers using a convenience sample (n=386). Structural equation modelling was used to analyse the survey data. Findings – The results reveal that service-brand awareness and brand image produce considerably dissimilar effects on consumer-perceived food value and risk. Brand awareness positively affects consumer-perceived food value but does not influence perceived physical risk. By contrast, brand image negatively influences perceived physical risk and positively affects brand preference, but it does not add perceived value to the food product. Originality/value – This study is the first to address these concerns, which are essential for understanding the role of service-brand equity in developing food-risk and value perceptions, and brand preference.

In India the private label brands (PLBs) are growing at a faster pace than retail. This supposes that PLBs should have brand equity. Although brand equity is one of the most important aspects of a brand in creating competitive advantage, earlier studies have not paid much attention to measuring and conceptualising the factors influencing the brand equity of private label brands. Many researches have looked into the consumer based brand equity (CBBE) of national brands only and hence this study was taken up to examine the dimensions of consumer based brand equity for private label brands including the impact of store image on brand equity.An empirical study was done considering survey instrument from previous study of Girard et al. (2017). The data was collected during December 2016 – January 2017 and SPSS and AMOS were used for analysing data.This study found that <strong>Brand Awareness, Brand Loyalty, Perceived Image, Perceived Value, Perceived Risk, Store Image and Price</strong> are the seven dimensions that build into the brand equity of the private label brands.

Brand image, in brief is a series of private values that perceived by company to create identity of its product or service. Brand Association is anything related memory to brand (Tjiptono, 2005). Brand Association is one of assets of brand equity, which shows advantages and differences of a product or service while a person recall the brand of product or service. This paper is a research to discover brand attributes associated in consumers’ mind that create brand image of state owned national airline (Garuda Indonesia-GI), and then to discover harmonization between brand identity with brand image. The respondents of this research are passengers of GI airline at Sukamo-Hatta airport. Cochran test is one of methods applied in this paper. The result of this research shows that there are six brand associations which create GI brand image, but brand identity has not yet stuck completely in consumer’s mind, although there are three additional brand image perceived by consumers. These show that there is a positive gap which bring advantages to company. Company must also maintain the harmony of built brand image and brand identity to avoid the creation of negative gap.

Marketers have shown increasing interest in the use of corporate societal marketing (CSM) programs. In this article, the authors describe six means by which CSM programs can build brand equity: (1) building brand awareness, (2) enhancing brand image, (3) establishing brand credibility, (4) evoking brand feelings, (5) creating a sense of brand community, and (6) eliciting brand engagement. The authors also address three key questions revolving around how CSM programs have their effects, which cause the firm should choose, and how CSM programs should be branded. The authors offer a series of research propositions throughout and conclude by outlining a set of potential future research directions.

Purpose This study aims to elucidate customer participation and value co-creation in enhancing customer loyalty in the context of Umrah travelers. First, it identifies the antecedents of Umrah travelers’ participation including service brand image, service employee performance and willingness to customize. Second, this study explores the impact of Umrah travelers’ participation in Umrah travelers’ loyalty. Finally, it explores co-creation value (hedonic, refreshment and price) and Umrah travelers’ satisfaction emerging in the relationship between Umrah travelers’ participation and Umrah travelers’ loyalty. Design/methodology/approach The survey draws its respondents from Umrah participants in Central Java Province, Indonesia, using the purposive sampling method with 459 samples. Data analysis used confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling. Findings The results reveal that service brand image, service employee performance and willingness to customize significantly affect Umrah travelers’ participation. Umrah travelers’ participation has an insignificant effect on Umrah travelers’ loyalty; conversely, Umrah travelers’ participation has a significant effect on co-creation value (hedonic value, refreshment and price). Only the price of the co-creation value has a significant effect on Umrah travelers’ loyalty, while hedonic value and refreshment value do not. Finally, Umrah travelers’ participation directly affects Umrah travelers’ satisfaction, and, in turn, Umrah travelers’ satisfaction impacts Umrah travelers’ loyalty. Originality/value This study attempts to elucidate the theory of customer participation and value co-creation in the Umrah travelers setting. It identifies the factor determiner of customer participation from the professional aspects of the company, namely, service brand image, service employee performance and willingness to customize. This study explored the importance of value co-creation and customer satisfaction in enhancing customer loyalty.
