Charkin Volodymyr was PhD in Biology, Senior researcher, Head of the Laboratory of Cattle Nutrition that focuses on researching the physiology of animal lactation, studying the influence of Iodium, Chromium, Selenium, Cobalt on metabolic processes, productivity and composition of milk; development of elements of national protein feeding system of high productive cows that correspond to modern protein standardizing criteria. Lactation is a complex process of creation, storing and producing milk in animal’s mammal gland. Nervous system and hormones of endocrine glands with the help of brain cortex and hypothalamus, where lactation center is located, regulate the process of mild production. Hypothalamus produces releasing factors – somatoliberin and prolactoliberin that stimulate the production of hormones somatotropin and prolactin in hypothesis. These hormones directly take part in the production of milk. The role of other endocrine glands is that they contribute to promotion of the synthesis of milk precursors and increase of their amount in blood.

Pituitary organogenesis is a highly complex and tightly regulated process that depends on several transcription factors (TFs), such as PROP1, PIT1 (POU1F1), HESX1, LHX3 and LHX4. Normal pituitary development requires the temporally and spatially organised expression of TFs and interactions between different TFs, DNA and TF co-activators. Mutations in these genes result in different combinations of hypopituitarism that can be associated with structural alterations of the central nervous system, causing the congenital form of panhypopituitarism. This review aims to elucidate the complex process of pituitary organogenesis, to clarify the role of the major TFs, and to compile the lessons learned from functional studies of TF mutations in panhypopituitarism patients and TF deletions or mutations in transgenic animals.

Neuron irritation lies at the heart of intraoperative motor mapping and varies with the general anaesthetic type and dose. Basing on the analysis of 63 cases (male/female 25/38, aged 21–69) of brain tumors (glial tumors, metastasis, cavernous angiomas) the study explores the role of propofol and sevoflurane in the affectability of cortex neurons during the intraoperative neurophysiological mapping. The study has clearly demonstrated that the liminal current strength is notably higher when inhalation anaesthesia (sevoflurane) is used, than in the case of TIVA (propofol). The propofol activity in the doses causing brain activity depression results in a sharp increase in the excitability threshold. In contrast, sevoflurane causes a steady dose-related rise in the liminal current strength during the motor area galvanic stimulation due to the suppression of affectability and conduction in the nervous system.

Abstract. Basal plasma levels for adrenalin (A), noradrenalin (NA), l-triiodothyronine (T3), and l-thyroxine (T4) were determined in rats with a chronically inserted catheter. The experiments described in this report were started 3 days after the surgical procedure when T3 and T4 levels had returned to normal. Basal levels for the catecholamines were reached already 4 h after the operation. The T3/T4 ratio in plasma was significantly increased after 3, 7, and 14 days in rats kept at 4°C and the same holds for the iodide in the 24-h urine after 7 and 14 days at 4°C. The venous NA plasma concentration was increased 6- to 12-fold during the same period of exposure to cold, whereas the A concentration remained at the basal level. During infusion of NA at 23°C the T3/T4 ratio in plasma was significantly increased after 7 days compared to pair-fed controls, and the same holds for the iodide excretion in the 24-h urine. This paper presents further evidence for a role of the sympathetic nervous system on T4 metabolism in rats at resting conditions.

The results of studies on the role of growth biostimulants in the exogenous regulation of potato productivity on sod-podzolic soils of the Moscow region are presented.Studies have established the specificity of the action of phytohormones.The stimulating effect of the drugs manifested itself in the intensification of metabolic processes, changing the direction of biochemical reactions, which led to an increase in productivity.
