The relationship between citizens and governments is the core of e-government. E-participation is one of the political dimensions of e-government which focuses on informing, consulting, involving, collaborating, and empowering citizens to take part of the decision making process. This study adopted a framework for the five levels of e-participation and tried to test such model empirically using 400 responses from Jordanians. The study tried to measure Jordanian perceptions towards e-participation initiatives and practices in Jordan, and to measure the achievements on each level as perceived and reported by subjects. Results indicated that the highest perceived level was e-involving, and the lowest was e-consulting. Also, the CFA results indicated a distorted distribution of items between the major levels. Results of other issues explored are discussed further in this study.

Participative management of employees in decision-making is considered as a mechanism where workers have a say in the decision making process of an organization. In India WPM is an element of government labour policy. The concept behind this is to improve better relations among employees and workers. The present paper tries to explore about the workers participation in management in Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) by considering 604 respondent employees of steel plant in order to know their opinions regarding the above mentioned topics by using convenient sampling method, because VSP is big organization consisting of more than 20,000 employees (Both Permanent and Contract). All the employees are busy at their work and it will be difficult to collect the first hand information from the employees by using any other sampling methods except convenient sampling method.

The dynamic development of information and communication technologies and online marketing in the hospitality and tourism industry changes customer behavior significantly.. This article presents the research results focused on measuring the visual attention of potential clients while choosing the hotel online. Eye-tracking-based data collection followed by appropriate statistical analyses was selected to study customers' behaviour and, consequently, judge the effectiveness and impact of used marketing tools. Three scenarios selected for this study covered different clients' segments: 1/overnight business guests (on the road), 2/weekend package guests (couples), and 3/team-building groups (small companies) and their specific needs. The behaviour of the respondents was monitored in two phases: browsing and deliberation phases. Our study reveals the specifics in Middle and East European consumers' behaviour in both phases, the differences in their priorities, their personal filters used, specifics of their decision-making process, etc., compared with Noone & Robson studies from 2014 and 2016 on US customers. From the methodological point of view, the study reveals the importance of so-called scenarios since it clearly shows that preferences during the browsing phase (e.g. photos of hotels, rooms, bathrooms, its environment, surrounding landscape, etc.) depend on the simulated life situation. The differences in both groups of clients' behaviour and especially in their decision-making process are discussed in the conclusions.

Zusammenfassung Der vorliegende Beitrag beschäftigt sich mit der Entscheidung von mittelständischen Unternehmen, zusätz­liche Mitarbeiter einzustellen und mit der Frage, unter welchen Bedingungen die Ausweitung der Geschäftstätigkeit eine solche Entscheidung veranlasst. Das diesbezügliche Entscheidungsverhalten ist bislang wenig erforscht. Im Vordergrund der Untersuchung steht die Frage, wie sich in den überschaubaren und wenig formalen Verhältnissen, die typisch für mittelständische Unternehmen sind, Entscheidungsfindung und Entscheidungsumsetzung zueinander verhalten, ob sie sich überhaupt klar voneinander abheben, welche Rückkopplungsbeziehungen existieren und welcher Handlungslogik sie folgen. Als theoretische Grundlage dient ein handlungstheoretischer Ansatz, der den kollektiven Charakter der Beschäftigungsentscheidung herausstellt. Die empirische Untersuchung bedient sich der Fallstudienmethode und befasst sich mit der Rekonstruktion von Entscheidungsprozessen in elf mittelständischen Unternehmen. Abstract The present article deals with the decisions of medium-sized companies to hire additional employees and with the question under which conditions the expansion of business activities leads to such a decision. In particular, this paper discusses the relationship between making and executing employment decisions. To analyze this relationship we present a theoretical approach which accentuates the collective character of the organizational decision making process. The empirical study uses the case study method. It undertakes the reconstruction of the employment decisions in eleven companies.

The design process can be considered as series of decisions supported by modeling and simulation (M&S). Current developments aim at supporting this decision making with regard to increasing resources committed in the M&S process. To understand possible decision support, we conducted an empirical study in a car manufacturing company to map out the decision-making process during the development phase. A qualitative data analysis was performed to understand the difficulties and the needs expressed by decision makers. Industrial preliminary observations have shown that decisions regarding design issues are often postponed, causing iterations, and time and cost overruns in the development process. The study revealed that decisions are escalated to upper hierarchical levels as complexity and uncertainty increase and as the tradeoffs become impactful. A lack of knowledge about the M&S performance and limits, a lack of clarity due to design ambiguity, and uncertainty are more likely to cause iterations and delay. In addition, decision makers and stakeholders are sometimes unadvised of the influence of the decision under consideration on subsequent decisions and on the profit. These findings are interesting as they shed light in terms of decision supported needed in the future.
