Introduction: Frailty syndrome, which affects the quality of life negatively in patients of 65 years old and over, can be observed from physical inactivity to immobility, and can affect cognitive disorders. General symptoms of frailty are; slowing walking speed, involuntary weight loss, decreased appetite, decreased body mass index (BMI), decreased muscle strength, feeling insufficient while doing physical activity, weakness, fatigue, impaired cognitive functions, and memory loss. Fragility is reversible, but if it is not noticed earlier it can progress to immobility or death. Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) is important in detecting a frail elderly. The aim of the study is to determine the knowledge level of family physicians in Erzincan. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study. It is aimed to reach at least 80% of family physicians (FPs) employed actively in 73 primary care units in Erzincan. The researchers applied questionnaire face-to-face to the participants. Erzincan Clinical Research Ethics Committee approval was received for the study. SPSS 23 statistics program was used for data analysis. Results: The frailty questionnaire was applied to 58 FPs. Only 12.1% of FPs correctly answered the question of which word first comes to mind for ‘frailty’. The 74.1% (n: 43) of participants did not consider themselves sufficient for CGA, and 70.7% (n: 41) of participants wanted training on CGA. The answer for question if they evaluate the patients for frailty in homecare visits was yes in 38.2%. Conclusion: It can be said that the ‘frailty’ knowledge level of FPs should be increased in Erzincan. In light of the data obtained, it may be suggested to organize “frailty” and CGA trainings for family physicians. Frailty and CGA should be included in undergraduate medical education and continuous trainings of FPs.

Background: Pharmacists play an essential role in educating the epileptic patients about their disease and their medications. Improving the patient’s awareness may lead to improve their compliance and decrease drug-drug interaction and ultimately improve their quality of life. Objective: This study aimed to assess the pharmacist’s knowledge about anti-epileptic drugs in Khartoum State, Sudan. Method: We conducted a descriptive cross-sectional study in Khartoum State, Sudan. Proportionate stratified sampling was used to determine the targeted Pharmacies, and all pharmacists who were present in the selected pharmacy at the time of data collection and fulfilled our selection criteria were included in the study. A structure closed-ended questionnaire was used to collect quantitative data from candidates. Results: Majority of participants were female (66.9%), less than 30 years old (66.7%) and have less than 5 years of experience (62.1%). Unfortunately, the majority of the participants (85.3%) had poor knowledge, and only (14.7%) of them had good knowledge. Furthermore, the study revealed that age (p =.030), years of experience (p =.026) and the degree in pharmacy (p = .003) were significantly associated with knowledge level. Conclusions: Majority of the pharmacists in Khartoum State have poor knowledge about anti-epileptic drugs. Further research is needed to investigate the actual factors behind this knowledge gap and to propose interventions to improve the pharmacist’s knowledge and practice aiming to improve the quality of health care provided to the patients.

Kata kunci: tingkat pengetahuan, kualitas VeR, VeR perlukaanAbstract Visum et Repertum (VeR) of injury is a form of VeR for living victim used as the evidence to represent the victim’s body which is made by a doctor according to the written request from investigating officer. There are several factors influencing the quality of Ver of injury, one of which is the doctor’s knowledge level. The objective of this study was to investigate the relation between doctor’s knowledge level and the quality of VeR of injury by using Cross Sectional Study method. This study was conducted at eight hospitals in West Sumatera region that met the inclusion criteria. The research instruments used were the questionnaire developed by the reseacher and the quality scoring technique from Faculty of Medicine University of Indonesia. The results of this research showed that the average of doctor’s knowledge level was 57.05% (fair) and the average of VeR of injury quality was 19.67% (bad). The result of bivariat analysis by using product moment correlation test showed that there is no any relation between doctor’s knowledge level and the quality of VeR of injury p = 0.485 (p> 0,05). The relation was absent because every hospital has its own form in making the VeR of injury. It is recommended for the future study to analyse other factors influencing the quality of VeR of injury dan hopefully this study can be useful for improve archiving, increase doctor’s knowledge level and provide VeR manuals book. Keywords: knowledge level, quality of VeR, VeR of injury
