This case report aims to describe in detail a complication associated with resorption of regenerated bone following implant placement and ridge augmentation using recombinant human bone morphogenic protein–2 (rhBMP-2) in combination with allograft and xenograft. Bilateral maxillary sinus and ridge augmentation procedures were completed using rhBMP-2 combined with allograft and xenograft. Five months later, significant bone augmentation was achieved, which allowed for the placement of 4 implants. Upon stage 2 surgery, significant dehiscence was noted in all implants. Treatment steps to address this complication included implant removal, guided bone regeneration with xenograft only, and placement of new implants followed by soft-tissue grafting. At the time of publication, this patient is status 1½ years post case completion with maintenance of therapy outcomes. Off-label use of rhBMP-2 has gained significant acceptance in implant dentistry. However, there is limited evidence regarding the bone maturation process when rhBMP-2 is combined with other biomaterials. More research may be needed regarding the timing and process of bone healing in the presence of rhBMP-2, in an effort to avoid surgical complications.

Implantology has become an important therapeutic procedure that allows complete aesthetic and functional rehabilitation of the oro-facial system in edentulous patients. Implant supported prosthetic restorations can be fixed in two ways, by cement or screws. Both techniques have advantages and disadvantages and their selection depend on situation in patient?s mouth. The aim of this study was to describe complete process of prosthetic rehabilitation in an edentulous patient, from pre-implant preparation, through implant placement and fixation of final restoration on implants. In this case report, one ceramo-metal bridge was fixed by screws in the lower jaw while the other one was fixed using glass-ionomer cement in the upper jaw. After bone augmentation and time necessary for its osseointegration (6 to 8 months), 16 implants were placed in both jaws. Eight weeks after the implant placement, final prosthetic rehabilitation was achieved by cementation of one ceramo-metal bridge in the upper jaw using glass ionomer cement and fixation of the second bridge with screws in the lower jaw. To achieve successful implant supported prosthetic rehabilitation, the treatment protocol must be followed from the beginning to the end of the therapy.

Background: The absence of external ear may be due to congenital, traumatic, or surgical causes. Many case reports only describe impression techniques to record details of the defect side and the natural ear. The purpose of this case report is to explain in detail simple clinical and laboratory procedures involved in fabrication of ear prosthesis. Case Description and Methods: The use of three-part mold helps in the application of pigmented silicone in specific areas. The use of direct adhesive fixation provides the best esthetic result and if properly used the most satisfactory form of treatment. Findings and Outcomes: The patient was satisfied with the life-like appearance of the prosthesis. The use of direct adhesive fixation gave the patient a sense of security and improved his confidence. Conclusion: The technique described is economical, and additional steps of implant placement are avoided. The esthetics of the prosthesis made by hand carved clay pattern provides good details. Clinical relevance The technique describes the method of direct adhesive fixation of the prosthesis giving it a life-like appearance. The confidence of the patient is also restored.

ABSTRACT The dental implant provides a realistic treatment alternative for rehabilitation of patients with lost teeth. Immediate implant placement following tooth extraction in appropriately selected cases has been considered the optimal procedure option in modern implant dentistry. This articles illustrates a case of immediate implantation in the right maxillary first molar region. The OCO Biomedical dental implant used in this case report is designed for immediate loading using Dual Stabilization™, an industry unique design feature that biomechanically secures the tip and the collar of the implant into bone. This case report illustrates that it is possible to provide the patient with efficient tooth replacement with a quality immediate dental implant. How to cite this article Schlesinger CD, Saini R. Immediate Implant Placement by Dual Stabilization Technique. Int J Experiment Dent Sci 2015;4(1):72-76.

AbstractImplantology has become an integral part of dentistry. Initially implant dentistry was surgically driven with implant placement thatwas determined by the available bone. Following this although osseo integration was achieved, the outcome many a times didn't fulfil the basic function anaesthetics. The correction after implant placement with help of angulated abutments in anterior region will produce undesirable aesthetics. Prosthetically driven implant placement will help in the overall function and aesthetic. This case report describes managing a horizontal defect in the anterior mandibular region with help of allogenic graft material and establishing the prosthetically driven approach.
