The demand for synthetic graft materials in implant dentistry is rising. This systematic review aims to evaluate the survival rate of dental implants placed simultaneously with bone regeneration procedures using the material β-tricalcium phosphate, one of the most promising synthetic graft materials. The electronic search was conducted in PubMed, Scielo, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials. There were five randomized clinical trials, one of which was a non-randomized controlled clinical trial and four of which were observational studies without a control group included. Implant survival rate and other clinical, radiographic, and histological parameters did not differ from those of implants placed simultaneously with another type of graft material, or placed in blood clots or natural alveolar ridges. Based on the available literature, β-tricalcium phosphate seems to be a promising graft material in implant dentistry. Nevertheless, more randomized clinical trials, with long follow-up periods, preoperative and postoperative CBCT, and histological analysis, are necessary to assess its long-term behavior.

Platelet analogues (PA; platelet rich plasma and platelet rich fibrin) are autologous bioactive compounds that have a wide range of medical and dental applications, including periodontal, maxillofacial, Plastic surgery and sports medicine. The aim of these technologies is to collect all the constituents of a patient's blood sample so that they can be used to promote tissue regeneration and improve healing. Since 1954, PA has come a long way. Periodontology and implant dentistry have both benefited from the use of PAs. However, the non-standard preparation technique, processing time, transfer of concentrates, centrifugation temperature, vibration, etc. are all variables that contribute to the various results described in the literature. This study will retrace the evolution of PAs, their preparation procedures, their clinical and technological characteristics and their uses.

This systematic review aimed to answer the question: “Is the use of magnetic mallet effective in oral and implant surgery procedures in terms of tissue healing, surgery outcome, and complication rate compared to traditional instruments?” A literature search of PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases (articles published until 1 October 2021) was conducted, in accordance with the PRISMA statement, using the keywords “magnetic mallet”, “electric mallet”, “oral surgery”, “implantology”, and “dental implant”. Of 252 articles, 14 were included in the review (3 for teeth extraction, and 11 for implant dentistry). Out of a total of 619 dental extractions (256 patients) performed with the magnetic mallet (MM), no complications were reported. Implants inserted totaled 880 (525 patients): 640 in the MM groups (382), and 240 in control groups (133). The survival rate of implants was 98.9% in the MM groups, and 95.42% in the control groups. Seven patients experienced benign paroxysmal positional vertigo after implant surgery, all in control groups. Results are not sufficient to establish the effectiveness of MM in oral and implant surgery procedures. Randomized controlled trials with a large sample size are needed.

Resumo: A odontologia vem buscando cada vez mais métodos de reabilitação dentária que sejam menos traumáticos e eficazes estética e visualmente falando. Sob esse aspecto, os implantes dentários têm se desenvolvido cada vez no intuito de garantir a satisfação dos pacientes, através de avanços tecnológicos como o da Nanosuperfície de Titânio. Assim, o presente estudo objetiva abordar a questão das superfícies de implantes de titânio no que se refere à sua capacidade de estímulo na formação óssea, por ser uma técnica que diminui o tempo de osseointegração e, consequentemente, a duração do processo e recuperação do paciente. Para tanto, foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica em bases de dados eletrônicas acerca do tema, que comprovassem a diminuição de tempo do trabalho do profissional da Odontologia e uma melhor qualidade no que se refere aos implantes dentários, através da análise de três marcas nacionais a fim de comprovar sua eficácia. Palavras-chave: Implante dentário. Nanosuperfície de Titânio. Osseointegração. ---Abstract: Dentistry is increasingly seeking dental rehabilitation methods that are less traumatic and effective aesthetically and visually. In this regard, dental implants have been increasingly developed to ensure patient satisfaction, through technological advances such as the Titanium Nano-surface. Thus, this study aims to address the issue of titanium implant surfaces in terms of their ability to stimulate bone formation, as it is a technique that reduces the time of osseointegration and, consequently, the duration of the process and patient recovery. To this end, a bibliographic review was carried out in electronic databases on the subject, which could prove the reduction of time in the work of the dentistry professional and a better quality regarding dental implants, through the analysis of three national brands to prove its effectiveness. Keywords: Dental implant. The dentist faces a difficult challenge in preserving the quantity and quality of gum and bone tissues. Furthermore, the processes adopted should meet these objectives while posing no substantial future issues. In current dental and maxillofacial surgery, a variety of materials as Morphogenic Protein of Bone (BMP) and Platelet Rich Fibrins (PRF) are employed to repair and reconstruct bone tissue. The purpose of this review was to compare the efficiency of both BMP’s and PRF’s in Socket preservation. Reviewing the literature was conducted by using the following search strategies: Bone Morphogenic Proteins, Platelet Rich Fibrins, socket preservation approach, comparison of BMPs and PRFs, Bone Morphogenic Proteins and effectiveness in socket preservation and Platelet Rich Fibrins’ effectiveness in socket preservation. In conclusion, BMPs have been studied more completely than PRFs, and they have higher impacts on hard tissue regeneration and repair, according to the research. The fact that PRFs increase soft tissue healing shows how promising they are. Especially when we consider that soft tissue healing is more important than socket care in implant dentistry.

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has presented enormous challenges for dentists and patients. The risk of nosocomial transmission is a reality that requires the development of guidelines by the dental community to reduce the chances of infection by the new coronavirus. In this sense, it was necessary to implement alternative prophylactic techniques such as the adoption of oral rinses before dental care. Objective: To present the main considerations of clinical studies on dental care at COVID-19. Methods: The research was carried out from May 2021 to June 2021 and developed based on Scopus, PubMed, Science Direct, Scielo, and Google Scholar, following the Systematic Review-PRISMA rules. The quality of the studies was based on the GRADE instrument and the risk of bias was analyzed according to the Cochrane instrument. Results: One study showed that 0.2% chlorhexidine and 1% povidone-iodine oral solutions are effective pre-procedural mouthwashes against salivary SARS-CoV-2 in dental treatments. It was observed in another study that the effect of reducing the salivary load with mouthwash with CPC and PI was maintained after 6 hours. PVP-I nasal and oral antiseptic solutions are effective in inactivating SARS-CoV-2 at a range of concentrations after exposure times of 60 seconds. There is sufficient in vitro evidence to support the use of antiseptics to potentially reduce the viral load of SARS-CoV-2. The effects against the new coronavirus in vivo still need more randomized clinical trials to prove its effectiveness. Conclusion: ACE2 receptors are highly expressed in the oral cavity, therefore, this could be a potential high-risk route for SARS-CoV-2 infection. The virus can be detected in saliva even before the appearance of symptoms of COVID-19. In this regard, randomized clinical studies have shown that some pre-procedure oral mouthwashes are effective against salivary SARS-CoV-2 in dental treatments. In addition, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) reported on how COVID-19 impacts dental care through guidelines for general dentistry.

Introduction: In the landscape of new digital technologies, many dental treatments have benefited from this digital advance. The development of computed tomography (CT) dental scanners has enabled powerful imaging capabilities and software applications. The prosthetic plane and implanted drill guides with the placement of trajectories based on a drill according to the position of the CT 3-D Space markers. Objective: To present, through a systematic review, the main considerations of guided surgery in implant dentistry and its respective advantages, disadvantages, and limitations. Methods: Clinical studies with qualitative and/or quantitative analysis were included, following the rules of the systematic review-PRISMA. Results: Out of a total of 102 articles found, 82 articles were evaluated and 57 were rejected for not meeting the GRADE classification, and only 25 articles were used in this study to compose the textual part. Advances in technology have contributed to the improvement of implant models. 3D reconstructions make it possible to determine the quantity and quality of available bone and also enable the simulation of implant installation in a virtual environment, reducing time and the possibility of errors, allowing for an overall reduction in the costs of oral rehabilitation. Conclusion: Guided preoperative planning or project-guided dental surgery provides high implant and dental rehabilitation success rates, also benefiting prosthetic restorations supported by fixed implants. Furthermore, the concept of using personalized implants with the help of 3D virtual treatment planning improves mandibular restoration with a good facial profile, esthetics, and dental rehabilitation.

Background: Implant dentistry has become an important aspect of the treatment for patients who are partially or completely edentulous. Dental implants are a proven therapeutic option for replacing missing teeth, with positive long-term health outcomes. Dental implant performance is largely determined by the implant’s primary durability, which is affected by surgical procedure, bone quality and quantity, implant surface characteristics, implant geometry, and implant surface characteristics. Despite the advancements achieved in implant dentistry since its beginning, there exist several limitations in scientifically grounded information and proven clinical experience among dental professionals and postgraduates.  A study was conducted to assess and compare the knowledge, attitude and practice of dental implants among dental postgraduate students and dental practitioners (General and institutional in Wardha  district, Maharashtra and to identify the variations in their knowledge, attitude and practice with respect to dentist's factors (years of experience, implant training and their specialization). As a result, the actual picture was examined. Objective: To assess the knowledge of dental implants among dental postgraduate students and dental practitioners To assess the attitude of dental implants among dental postgraduate students and dental practitioners. To assess the practice of dental implants among dental postgraduate students and dental practitioners. Methodology: An online cross-sectional questionnaire survey will be done to examine responses to 20 selected questions pertaining knowledge, attitude, and practice of dental implants among dental postgraduates and practitioners in the Wardha district. The aspect of the results that will be examined. The questionnaire will be delivered to dental postgraduates and practitioners, and their replies, as well as the questionnaire's validation, will be recorded. In the cross-sectional study, a suitable sampling strategy was used based on the replies received following the survey. The results will be determined based on Knowledge, attitude, and practice of dental implants. Survey Procedure: questions will be asked by online platform to dental health professionals with explanation of purpose of the study. The questions will be both open and close end type. Expected Results: The expected result of the study will determine: Knowledge, attitude, and practice of dental implants among dental post graduates and practitioners in wardha district Conclusion: Today is an era of evidence based dentistry. However, there is a substantial difference between the popularity of dental implants and the research that supports them. This research is an attempt to minimize that difference. Because this study will be done in an area where dentistry is in the air, with two large teaching dental hospitals and a large mass of dentists, it gives us a thorough realistic picture of where knowledge and practise of dental implants have reached in our field. As a result, the purpose of this study is to assess the need for a change in attitude and practise toward dental implants, as well as their evidence-based research on the subject.

Introduction: In the context of implant dentistry, dental implants represent about 1,000,000 procedures per year worldwide. Virtual implant planning systems integrate cone beam computed tomography (CT) data to assess the amount of bone and virtual models for the project of a dental implant. Objective: It presented, through a systematic review, the main considerations of guided surgery in implant dentistry through evidence from clinical studies and important systematic reviews on the subject. Methods: The research was carried out from May 2021 to June 2021 and developed based on Scopus, PubMed, Science Direct, Scielo, and Google Scholar, following the Systematic Review-PRISMA rules. The quality of the studies was based on the GRADE instrument and the risk of bias was analyzed according to the Cochrane instrument. Results: A total of 112 articles were found on guided surgery and implantology. Initially, duplication of articles was excluded. In total, 54 articles were fully evaluated and 23 were included and evaluated in this study. In the GS scenario, advances in technology have contributed to the improvement of models with favorable positioning of implants in aesthetic terms. This provides the predictability of techniques and difficulties that may be encountered during surgical intervention, reducing time and the possibility of errors, allowing for an overall reduction in the costs of oral rehabilitation. Conclusion: Guided surgery is considered accurate and reliable compared to free implant surgery. However, the learning curve is undeniable and a clinician with basic surgical skills, including conventional implant dentistry.
