High-resolution imaging with a LaB6 instrument is limited by the spatial and temporal coherence, with little contrast remaining beyond the point resolution. A Field Emission Gun (FEG) reduces the incidence angle by a factor 5 to 10 and the energy spread by 2 to 3. Since the incidence angle is the dominant limitation for LaB6 the FEG provides a major improvement in contrast transfer, reducing the information limit to roughly one half of the point resolution. The strong improvement, predicted from high-resolution theory, can be seen readily in diffractograms (Fig. 1) and high-resolution images (Fig. 2). Even if the information in the image is limited deliberately to the point resolution by using an objective aperture, the improved contrast transfer close to the point resolution (Fig. 1) is already worthwhile.

Five nucleic acid binding cyanine dyes were synthesized and their photophysical characteristics were evaluated. Changing a heteroatom in the chromophore caused major differences in properties between dyes improving upon available commercial products.

During the Byzantine Times, medicine and surgery developed as Greek physicians continued to practice in Constantinople. Healing methods were common for both adults and children, and pediatrics as a medical specialty did not exist. Already Byzantine hospitals became institutions to dispense medical services, rather than shelters for the homeless, which included doctors and nurses for those who suffered from the disease. A major improvement in the status of hospitals as medical centers took place in this period, and physicians were called archiatroi. Several sources prove that archiatroi were still functioning in the late sixth century and long afterward, but now as xenon doctors. Patients were averse to surgery due to the incidence of complications. The hagiographical literature repeated allusions to doctors. Concerns about children with a surgical disease often led parents to seek miraculous healings achieved by Christian Protectors – Saints. This paper is focused on three eminent Byzantine physicians and surgeons, Oribasius, Aetius of Amida, Paul of Aegina, who dealt with pediatric operations and influenced the European Medicine for centuries to come. We studied historical and theological sources in order to present a comprehensive picture of the curative techniques used for pediatric surgical diseases during the Byzantine Times.

This study intends to highlight the results of the product Teosyal Redensity II through the cumulative effects of its constituents, that have an antioxidant, hydrating, filling and facial restructuring role. The study was performed in the Arestetic Clinic, Galai, between 07.12.2015 and 07.12.2016 on a group of 49 patients, of which 43 women and 6 men. Teosyal Redensity 2 proved to be a safe product - as long as it is injected correctly, it does not cause complications. Its easy to inject and has a very high efficiency. Its a periorbital rejuvenation and restructuring product, with a filling, antioxidant, hydration and dermal redensification effect. In the case of persons that needed a second injection after 1 month, one could observe a major improvement in elasticity and firmness felt by the person performing the injection. The injection requires small quantities of the substance and is accompanied by only mild discomfort. The result is visible right away.

Abstract In a recent work, Dai [1] searched for a variability in Newton’s constant G using the IGETS based gravitational acceleration measurements. However, this analysis, obtained from χ 2 minimization, did not incorporate the errors in the gravitational acceleration measurements. We carry out a similar search with one major improvement, wherein we incorporate these aforementioned errors. To model any possible variation in the gravitational acceleration, we fit the data to four models: a constant value, two sinusoidal models, and finally, a linear model for the variation of gravitational acceleration. We find that none of the four models provides a good fit to the data, showing that there is no evidence for a periodicity or a linear temporal variation in the acceleration measurements. We then redid these analyses after accounting for an unknown intrinsic scatter. After this, we find that although a constant model is still favored over the sinusoidal models, the linear variation for G is marginally preferred over a constant value, using information theory-based methods.

A.B.C. Engineering is a Melbourne-based job shop manufacturing company. The company attempted a major improvement in the information technology area by implementing and enhancing the capability of a MIS software package called ManuSoft. The General Manager of A.B.C Engineering felt that the implementation of this commercially available package would enhance the productivity and help managers in the planning process. The company carried out a detailed study on various IT tools and information systems softwares that are applicable to the job shop manufacturing situation. Considering the prevailing company situations, it was decided that ManuSoft would satisfy the information requirements. A project team was set up to study the scope of IT improvements and implement the required IT/IS system.
