The study was undertaken to assess ergonomically efficiency of hanging type wheat graincleaner, carried out in adopted villages under On Farm Testing (OFT) and Front LineDemonstration (FLD) program conducted by KVK, Mandsaur (M.P.). Total Fifteen farmwomen were selected to assess the physiological workload to compare the impact ofimproved technology over conventional practice for hanging type grain cleaner. Physiologicalparameters i.e. HR, energy expenditure, cardiac cost reduction and physiological costreduction etc., were measured during operations. The results revealed that hanging typegrain cleaner has proved proficient on time and output parameters. The average cardiaccost of work was decreased by 82.29 per cent while using hanging type grain cleaner forwheat. Drudgery reduction was found 83.96 per cent and it saved time by 89.10 per centwhen compared to traditional practice. The physiological cost of work and energyexpenditure in terms of heart rate were observed to be lower while performing activitieswith hanging type grain cleaner as compared to the traditional practice.

Abstract Mahesh Dattani is one of the leading Indian dramatists who responded to the problems of sexuality on the canvass of Indian theatre. He examined various facets of subjugation and marginalization rampant in Indian society. His plays focus on the sub-urban Hindu family and its trifle with gender and alternate sexuality. His plots revolve around the damaging implications of patriarchal constructs and his characters strive for liberty and self-satisfaction beneath hegemonic masculinity, compulsive heteronormativity and prejudiced cultural domain. Regarding his famous play Dance Like a Man, this paper critically examines the existing socio-cultural domain which practices politics of exclusion of androgynous identities behind the façade of peacefully cohabiting heterosexual Indian family and shows how Dattani, has remarkably countered the presentation of the polarized association of gender roles with conventional practice through performance of his protagonist. Set against the backdrop of patriarchal mindset, this paper delineates that the victim of patriarchal norms is not a woman but a man, who has traits of androgyny. It gives a brief account to highlight the significance of androgyny and portrays how androgyny is directly proportional to creativity. It elucidates how androgynous men undergo searing experiences of stigma and social untouchability in a traditional setup and how patriarchal norms reinforce dominant powers of society to stunt the growth of their personality.

During ship construction, steel hull plate is normally protected with an inorganic zinc preconstruction primer. For the underwater portion of the hull, conventional practice is to remove the primer by abrasive blasting before final coating of the hull. If the requirement for removing the preconstruction primer could be eliminated, there would be a significant cost savings. As a result, a laboratory study was undertaken to investigate the performance of selected marine coatings when applied over inorganic zinc primers in underwater service. In general, the results of the study suggest that there are inorganic zinc preconstruction primers that can be overcoated for underwater service. The results encourage further tests to investigate the parameters affecting compatibility.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), in common with other competition authorities, strongly favours structural remedies (i.e. business or asset disposals) as the most effective means to restore competition eliminated by a merger. Behavioural remedies (i.e., measures that seek to regulate the ongoing behaviour of the merger parties) are not generally favoured by the CMA. In considering the effectiveness of proposed remedies, the recent judgment in Ecolab v. CMA demonstrates that the CMA is afforded a wide margin of appreciation. That same margin of discretion was notably exercised by the CMA in the Bauer Media Group Inquiry where, contrary to conventional practice, it accepted a complex behavioural remedy in preference to structural alternatives. This article explores these two cases in greater detail and identifies some key factors that inform the CMA's conduct in relation to merger remedies.

As the 3DIC market matures, more is understood about the technical and cost challenges [1]. At the 2013 Semicon-West gathering, a panel of global experts identified these technical challenges to represent some of the most significant barriers to the industry's efforts to maintain progress with Moore's Law [2]. Searching and achieving high value manufacturing of 3DIC devices requires wrestling with several technologies and processes, all which may assert a different value for the manufacturer [3]. Current technologies for thin wafer support use a wide range of adhesives applied to the device wafer, bonded to a carrier, backside processed, and de-bonded by an array of methods. Daetec has been investigating temporary bonding for nearly 15yrs, is producing a range of products for semiconductor (e.g. WaferBondTM (Brewer-Science, Inc.)) [4], and for the display market using a low-cost tunable adhesion-force material that is peeled by simple means [5]. Daetec has developed a new technology, DaeBond 3DTM, allowing de-bonding to occur in a batch process while thinned wafers are affixed to film frames. This new approach provides a shift in conventional practice. Our paper presents several temporary bonding options with DaeBond 3DTM in an effort to define value-added approaches for thin wafer handling.

A study was carried out to compare the fertility of soils under improved soil  management practice with that of prevailing conventional practice and to assess the farmers’ perception on the improved practice in the upland   farming system. The study was carried out in Nasikasthan Sanga of Kavrepalanchok district of Nepal. Soil samples were collected from fields under improved conventional practice. Samples were taken at 0-15 and 15-30 cm depths and were analyzed for various physico-chemical properties to  compare the fertility status of the soils under both the practices. Altogether 68 farmers were interviewed to have information on farming practices and information pertinent to improved soil management practice being adopted by them. Results from soil physico-chemical analysis showed higher fertility of soils under improved practice in terms of more favorable pH level,  contents of exchangeable bases, available phosphorus and soil organic matter compared to prevailing conventional soil management practice. Moreover, majority of the farmers believed that soil fertility and physical condition of their upland soils had improved and that the productivity of major upland  crops had also increased after the adoption of improved soil management practice. Improved practice could play an important role in the sustainable management of upland soils in the mid hills of Nepal. It is however, desirable to conduct long-term research to further ascertain the effect of the practice on soil fertility of different soil types and land uses.Nepal Agric. Res. J.
