Due to the increase of volatile renewable energy resources, additional flexibility will be necessary in the electricity system in the future to ensure a technically and economically efficient network operation. Although home energy management systems hold potential for a supply of flexibility to the grid, private end users often neglect or even ignore recommendations regarding beneficial behavior. In this work, the social acceptance and requirements of a participatively developed home energy management system with focus on (i) system support optimization, (ii) self-consumption and self-sufficiency optimization, and (iii) additional comfort functions are determined. Subsequently, the socially-accepted flexibility potential of the home energy management system is estimated. Using methods of online household survey, cluster analysis, and energy-economic optimization, the socially-accepted techno-economic potential of households in a three-community cluster sample area is computed. Results show about a third of the participants accept the developed system. This yields a shiftable load of nearly 1.8 MW within the small sample area. Furthermore, the system yields the considerably larger monetary surplus on the supplier-side due to its focus on system support optimization. New electricity market opportunities are necessary to adequately reward a systemically useful load behavior of households.

This study sought to develop a scale to measure the family farming efficiency of women-headed households. Likert, Edwards and Paul et al. method were employed to development of the scale. Six relevant dimensions and 154 statements were screened through literature review and discussions with experts. Statements were mailed to 130 judges in the agricultural extension other related fields and 60 were received back. Further, the “Relevancy Percentage” “Relevancy weightage” and “Mean Relevancy Score” were worked out. The final scale comprising of six dimensions and 66 statements was standardized for administration. The scale developed was administered to 30 respondents in the non-sample area for measuring family farming efficiency. The results revealed that the reliability coefficient and validity of the scale appeared 0.8925 and 0.94 respectively, which is higher than the standard value (0.70).This certitude the reliability and validity of the developed scale. Thus, the scale can be useful explicitly to measure the family farming efficiency of Women Headed Households.

The implementation of the research on the behavior of farmers exchange rate subsector plantations in North Kolaka District, conducted in the sub-district area that qualifies as a sample area in the researcher's perspective aims to see the exchange rate behavior of plantation subsector farmers in north Kolaka district, conducted in January-March 2021. The calculation of Farmer Exchange Rate is obtained from the comparison of the price index received by farmers against the price index paid by farmers using the survey method with the number of 340 respondents spread in North Kolaka Regency. The results showed that the behavior of the price received by farmers 110.23%, The Behavior of Prices Paid by Farmers 95.22%, and the exchange rate of farmers in the subsector of plantation crops in North Kolaka District in 2019-2020 115.81%.

Abstract This paper focuses on the region of Enna in central Sicily. Its peculiar environmental setting is a key feature, with a central mountain surrounded by gentle, fertile lowlands. Our key question is to understand the regional route network in its historical process of “transformission”, a concept proposed by French archaeogeographers (see Chouquer, Watteaux 2013). It considers traces on the landscape at different scales, as ever-changing features influenced by both natural and human inputs. We chose a sample area of 566 sq-km in the very centre of the island and we evaluated geographical constraints on mobility. This raises new questions about the relationship between routes, settlements, and the environment.
