High speed machining (HSM) has become a development trend of modern manufacturing industry. It can not only significantly improve the production efficiency of products, but also greatly improve the machining accuracy and surface quality of production parts and reduce the production cost. Wood processing involves many processing processes such as sawing, milling and drilling. The compact four head motorized spindle can basically meet the milling and drilling requirements of wood processing. This paper studies the design, manufacturing technology and precision machining technology of woodworking machinery. This paper mainly adopts the finite element analysis method and applies the finite element analysis software ANSYS Workbench to simulate and model the woodworking four head high-speed motorized spindle, then analyzes and calculates its dynamic and static characteristics, and comprehensively considers the main influencing factors on the dynamic and static characteristics of motorized spindle. The test results show that the method proposed in this paper is of great significance to improve the actual working performance of motorized spindle.

This paper presents the effects of spindle system configuration on the dynamic and static characteristics of high speed grinding. A 3D physical mode of high-speed grinding motorized spindle system with rotation speed of 150m/s was provided. The motorized spindle system consists of bearings, rotor, stator, spindle housing and grinding wheel. Based on the finite element method (FEM), the static characteristics, dynamic and the transient response are analyzed based on the finite element analysis software NASTRAN. It is shown that the spindle overhanging, bearing span have a significant effort on spindle deflection. The dynamic analysis shows no resonance will happen during its speed range. The methods and solutions for the motorized spindle system design and engineering applications was given in this paper.

The fixture of motorized spindle significantly affect the vibration of micro high speed CNC milling machine, its performance can directly affect the machining accuracy of the entire micro milling machine. A special fixture of high-speed motorized spindle is designed in the paper and its static characteristics are checked by utilizing ANSYS finite element analysis software. To guarantee the sufficient strength of bolts and the safety of motorized spindle when the motorized spindle runs at high speed, theory analysis method and ANSYS finite element analysis method are used to make the strength check of the fixture. The designed special fixture for high speed motorized spindle plays an important part in the design of high-speed motorized spindle.

The thermal characteristics of the motorized spindle determines maching qualities and cutting capabilities, and is one of the important factors influencing the precision of the high speed NC machine tool. To improve the performance of the high speed machine tool, it is important to study the thermal characteristics of the motorized spindle. It had been studied in two ways: one is finite element analysis by Ansys software, in which the finite element analysis model was built. According to the actual working condition, the heat source and the heat transfer coefficient of every part are calculated. On this basis, the temperature field and temperature rises were gotten in Ansys software. The other way is temperature rises experiment on the motorized spindle test platform. The result was shown in the form of curve. These two ways shown the same result: the highest temperature rise appears in the area of electromotor, then followed by the rolling bearing .The result provides the necessary theory basis for optimizing the structure of the motorized spindle and establishes a basis for the research and application about the high speed spindle.

Variational theorems are presented for analyzing the vibrational response of flexible linkage mechanisms and the surrounding acoustic medium in which they are immersed. These theorems are established by generalizing Hamilton’s principle through using Lagrange multipliers to incorporate field equations and boundary conditions within the functional. The same philosophy is adopted to handle the conditions at the fluid-structural interface. When independent arbitrary variations of the system parameters are permitted, these acousto-elastodynamic theorems yield as characteristic equations the equation of motion for each member of the linkage, the acoustical wave equation, the compatibility conditions at the interface between the fluid and solid continua, and also the boundary conditions. These variational statements provide the foundations for several different classes of finite element analysis.

According to magnetic suspension motorized spindle system, high speed motorized spindle system based on bearingless induction motor is presented in this paper. The prototype of high speed motorized spindle system with bearingless induction motor is studied and analyzed by using finite element analysis software Ansoft/Maxwell and Riccati transfer matrix method, and compared with high speed motorized spindle system supported by Active Magnetic Bearing (AMB). The results show that high speed motorized spindle system with bearingless induction motor has distinct advantage of simple and compact structure, which is easier to realize high speed and extra-high speed operation.

In this paper, we present an efficient method for conducting a finite element analysis of a structure with cyclic symmetry and apply the method to analyze the natural vibration and linear and non-linear static characteristics of a blower impeller. A blower impeller is composed of circumferentially repeated substructures. The whole structure is partitioned into substructures, and the finite element analysis can thus be performed with one representative substructure by using the transformed equations for each number of nodal diameters, which are derived from a discrete Fourier transform. We calculated the natural vibration and linear and non-linear static characteristics of a blower impeller without a stiffening ring, and with small as well as large stiffening rings, respectively. The accuracy and efficiency of the presented method are verified by comparison of the results obtained from the analysis using a substructure to those obtained using the whole structure.

In this paper, based on the honeycomb floor damper of high-speed train, the finite element analysis was carried out on the floor damper, and we compared the experimental results with the physical model experiments. The results show that: when correction factor γ = 0.5, there is the minimum incremental error of vertical deformation, and the value of the damper parameters is the best at this time.
