Mixed testicular tumors are of great interest both clinically and pathologically. Being in most cases benign neoplasms, they sometimes give rise to metastases, and in some cases are subjected to malignant transformation, so that their timely recognition is of particular value. In the pathological and anatomical sense these neoplasms are of interest in relation to their microscopic structure, often extremely complex in particular in relation to their histogenesis.

Mature cystic teratomas are frequently encountered neoplasms of the ovary that comprise of tissues derived from all three germ layers. They are benign neoplasms with malignant transformation noted rarely in around 0.1 to 3% cases. Among the various transformations, malignant melanoma is one of the least commonly encountered. Here, we report a case of 41 years old female with malignant melanoma arising within mature cystic teratoma.

Abstract Oncocytic schneiderian papillomas (OSPs) are uncommon benign neoplasms that arise from the sinonasal schneiderian epithelium. Malignancies arising in OSPs are rare, and, to our knowledge, only 14 such instances have been reported in the medical literature. We report 2 additional cases—a small cell carcinoma and a sinonasal undifferentiated carcinoma arising in OSPs and presenting synchronously with the benign neoplasm. The potential for malignant transformation in OSPs is small, but warrants that these papillomas be completely excised to exclude a coexisting carcinoma.

Malignant cylindroma (cylindromatous carcinoma, cylindrocarcinoma) is the malignant counterpart of benign cylindroma. It is a rare neoplasm, more often developing in the setting of multiple pre-existing benign neoplasms. Herein we present an additional case of malignant transformation of the cylindroma diagnosed in an 83-year-old patient with known Brooke-Spiegler syndrome.

Transmission electron microscope(TEM) and scanning electron microscope(SEM) were widely used in experimental tumor studies. They are useful for evaluation of cellular transformation in vitro, classification of histological types of tumors and treating effect of tumors. We have obtained some results as follows:1. Studies on the malignant transformation of mammalian cells in vitro. Syrian golden hamster embryo cells(SGHEC) were transformed in vitro by ThO2 and/or ore dust. In a few days after dust added into medium, some dust crystals were phagocytized. Two weeks later, malignant transformation took place. These cells were of different size, nuclear pleomorphism, numerous ribosomes, increasing of microvilli on cell surface with various length and thickness, and blebs and ruffles(Figs. 1,2). Myelomonocytic leukemic transformation of mouse embryo cells(MEC) was induced in vitro by 3H-TdR. Transformed cells were become round from fusiform. The number of mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum was reduced, ribosomes and nucleoli increased, shape of nuclei irregular, microvilli increased, and blebs and ruffles appeared(Fig. 3).
