The present study was carried out to find out the changes induced by one of the stress conditions such as acidic medium exposure on some haematological and blood biochemical, parameters in the fresh water fish, Notopterusnotopterus. Increase in the haemoglobin and haematocrite indicate haemoconcentration in the fish blood. Glucose, alkaline phosphatase, sodium and calcium, protein, BUN, creatinine, triglycerides, enzymes such as SGOT and SGPT were decreased in the fish N.notopterus exposed to acidic condition. The changes in the environmental factors such as acidic condition cause stress to the fish which may bring disturbance in the blood parameters effecting the survival of fish.

Activity of a few biomarkers have been investigated on fresh water fish, Channa punctatus exposed to three sub – lethal concentrations of dimethoate(1/5, 1/10 and 1/15 of 96hrs LC50 values). The alteration in protein contents of liver, gill and muscle were investigated. The protein levels were found to be depleted in all the tissues after exposure to dimethoate over the control. All the organs showed the significant difference between control and exposed groups in all the estimated parameters on long exposure. The present study considers biochemical parameters as important biomarkers in determining the level of toxicity caused by the pesticide Dimethoate. Therefore the detailed results and observations are summarized in the present investigations.

The changes in some blood biochemical parameters were studied in the freshwater fish N. notopterus under saline exposure for a longer period of 30 days. The blood biochemical parameters are glucose, protein, triglycerides and cholesterol. All these parameters exhibited increased level except of blood glucose which remained unchanged as observed after the termination of saline exposure. Thus it indicates that although fish survives and able to tolerate extreme saline condition as there was no mortality during the exposure period. The increase of blood biochemical parameters can be considered as a kind of saline stress response particularly on lipid derivatives.

Present paper deals with study of cestode parasites of genus Circumoncobothrium from fresh water fish Clarius batracus at Savitri river, (Dapoli) for the percentages of infection occurance during summer season, minimum during winter and tolarate during rainy season. The parasite mainly infected the intestine of host and fed on nutrients from digested food. It completed its life cycle in the intestine of host. By camparing different characters of it to identify that the species is new

The present investigation deals with the prevalence of infection of cestode, Pseudoinverta oraiensis19 parasitizing Clarias batrachus from Bundelkhand Region (U.P.) India. The studies were recorded from different sampling stations of Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh. For this study 360 fresh water fish, Clarias batrachus were examined. The incidence of infection, monsoon season (17.50%) followed by winter season (20.00%) whereas high in summer season (30.00%).
