Although there is a growing trend of corporate volunteer plans in Taiwan, there scanty studies on the antecedent and consequence variables that influence employees’ participation in corporate volunteer. Most of existing studies concerning corporate social responsibility (CSR) explored the effects of CSR on corporate financial performance or consumer behavior, while paying little attention to the effects on the stakeholders and employees of enterprises. In practice, many enterprises often include corporate volunteer as an important part of their CSR policies. Past literature has seldom discussed the effects of the employees’ perception of CSR on their participation in corporate volunteer. Most studies concerning corporate volunteer focus on volunteer participation motivation and intention of the volunteer services outside enterprises, while few focus on corporate employees’ participation in corporate volunteer.

By convenience sampling, this study treated the 50 enterprises that received the Corporate Citizenship Award in 2012 as the targets. A total of 368 questionnaires were retrieved, including 195 paper-based questionnaires and 173 online questionnaires, among which there were 287 valid samples. The data were analyzed using SPSS18 to test the hypotheses. The findings of this study are as follows: (1) employees’ perception of CSR has a significant positive effect on their intention to participate in corporate volunteer; (2) employees’ perception of CSR has a significant positive effect on organizational commitment; (3) employees’ intention of participating in corporate volunteer has a significant positive effect on organizational commitment.

Stack Overflow is the most popular programming question and answer community that continuously receives a large number of questions every day. To ensure the quality of questions, the community grants privileges for the moderators and a group of experienced users to review the quality of questions and close the low-quality ones (e.g. duplicate or irrelevant questions). The review process is a typical crowdsourcing job that relies on users’ volunteer participation, and the current practices of closing questions in Stack Overflow face two aspects of challenges: (1) an obvious increase in both the absolute number and the percentage of “closed” questions; (2) a considerable decrease in participation willingness of experienced users to close questions. In order to solve the problem, we present a novel model of user willingness for reviewing and voting questions by incorporating four types of user activity history, including questions, answers, comments and votes of closing questions. Then we propose an automatic recommendation method based on the model to assign experienced users proper questions, to utilize the forces of them to close questions. The evaluation shows that the successful recommendation probability in the top 5, top 10, top 20, top 30, top 40, top 50 users are 48.23%, 58.93%, 68.83%, 74.27%, 78.13% and 81%, respectively.

(1) Background: Studies have been limited in explaining how volunteering acts as underlying mechanisms that associate the antecedents and outcomes of volunteering. This study aims to investigate whether volunteer participation mediates the relationship between motives (self-oriented and other-oriented) and psychological well-being, and further whether person-organizational (PO)-fit moderates the relationship between motives and volunteer participation. (2) Methods: Data were collected from full-time employees in organizations in South Korea using a self-administered instrument. To test the hypotheses, hierarchical regression analyses and path analyses were conducted. (3) Results: Volunteer participation showed a significant mediating effect only for the relationship between other-oriented motives and psychological well-being. PO fit showed a significant moderating role, and further analysis revealed that the mediated moderation of PO-fit was significant. (4) Conclusions: Results suggest that employees with other-oriented motives and PO fit were more likely to participate in volunteer activities, which then increased one’s psychological well-being. Findings provide insights for HR practitioners regarding employee volunteering programs.
