The complex compound from synthesis result is characterized by its maximum wavelength, functional groups, metals and ligands bonds, and it’s melting point. This complex compound tested of Zn(II)-catechin as lipase inhibitor activity to p-NPP (para-nitrofenilpalmitat) substrate. The result shows that Zn(II)-catechin could be synthesized from Zn(II) ligans and metals with ratio ligands and metals mol is 1:1, that has maximum wavelength 454 nm, which contain Zn-O bond at 354,90 and 478,35 cm-1, and melting point of Zn(II)-catechin >250 oC. Zn(II)-catechin can inhibition 60,63% from concentration 50 µg/mL with mixed inhibition Keyword : Zn(II)-catechin, lipase, mixed inhibition ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan sintesis, karakterisasi dan uji aktivitas senyawa kompleks Zn(II)-katekin terhadap aktivitas inhibitor enzim lipase. Gelatin is derived from the hydrolysis of the animal collagen contained in the bones and skin. Milkfish bones have the potential to be used as raw materials for gelatine production because it is estimated to be 15–20% of the total body weight of the fish. The extraction of gelatine from fish bones is a solution in utilizing the waste of the fish processing industry. Hydrolysis or soaking in an acidic solution against collagen is aimed to eliminate the salt of calcium and other minerals in the cartilage. This research was conducted to determine the influence of acid types and concentration on the milkfish bones gelatine production. This study used a completely randomized factorial design with two factors. The first factor was the type of acid (citric acid, acetic acid, and a mixture of citric and acetic acids), while the second factor was the concentration of acid (5%, 9%, and 13%). The data obtained were analysed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) Advanced test. The results showed that the type and concentration of acid affected the yield, gel strength, viscosity, melting point, and gelling point. The best treatment in this study was extraction using a 9% concentration of citric acid to produce gelatine with a yield of 10.48%, gel strength 283.1 g bloom, viscosity 4.35 cP, melting point 60.1°C, gel point 16.9°C. Identification of gelatine functional groups was carried out on gelatine from the best treatment using FT-IR Spectrophotometer. From the results of FT-IR spectra analysis, it is known that the functional groups present in the sample are – OH, C-O, N-H, C-H, C-N, C=O which are the main functional groups of gelatine. This study showed that the type and concentration of acid affected the characteristics of milkfish bone gelatine

A method of thermodynamic prediction of the existence of a complex compound in the NaF-Na2SO4 binary system is described. On the basis of the knowledge of a part of liquids drawn in the vicinity of NaF melting point and coordinates of eutectic point, the conclusion was made that there exists the complex compound Na3FSO4 in the system. Its true and hypothetic melting points and the degree of its thermal dissociation were calculated. Further, the probable coordinates of a eutectic point in the Na3FSO4-Na2SO4 subsystem were found out. The calculated results were confronted with experimental determination; the agreement is very good. The method described can be useful for experimental studies of binary phase diagrams.

Kata kunci: Belajang Susu, S. pictus Hassk dan Triterpenoid ABSTRACT This research is an exploratory research that aimed to isolating compounds of secondary metabolite methanol fraction of Belajang Susu (Scindapsus pictus Hassk) stem extract. The sample of this research is taken from Mambi sub-district, Mamasa district, West Sulawesi. The research was done through several stages: extraction (maceration), fractionation, purification and identification. The pure isolates obtained by recrystallization in form of the white crystals, powder crystals with melting point 250-252oC. Identification with an infrared spectrophotometer giving wave number of functional groups OH, CH2 and CH3 gem dimetyl, C-O, and =C-H. Based on the results of the group test and FTIR spectrum data it was concluded that the compounds obtained were triterpenoid group compounds. Keywords: Belajang Susu, S. pictus Hassk, and Triterpenoid

Recent studies have shown the presence of voids in several face-centered cubic metals after neutron irradiation at elevated temperatures. These voids were found when the irradiation temperature was above 0.3 Tm where Tm is the absolute melting point, and were ascribed to the agglomeration of lattice vacancies resulting from fast neutron generated displacement cascades. The present paper reports the existence of similar voids in the body-centered cubic metals tungsten and molybdenum.

It has long been known that defects such as stacking faults and voids can be quenched from various alloyed metals heated to near their melting point. Today it is common practice to irradiate samples with various ionic species of rare gases which also form voids containing solidified phases of the same atomic species, e.g. ref. 3. Equivalently, electron irradiation has been used to produce damage events, e.g. ref. 4. Generally all of the above mentioned studies have relied on diffraction contrast to observe the defects produced down to a dimension of perhaps 10 to 20Å. Also all these studies have used ions or electrons which exceeded the damage threshold for knockon events. In the case of higher resolution studies the present author has identified vacancy and interstitial type chain defects in ion irradiated Si and was able to identify both di-interstitial and di-vacancy chains running through the foil.
