Objectives: To determine the effect of ovarian autotransplan-tation on decreasing FSH level in Wistarrats late menopause model.Materials and Methods: Experimental analytic research on 27 Wistar rats (Rattus novergicus) was divided into 3 groups. Group 1 (K1) or control. Group 2 (K2) performed bilateral oophorec-tomy without autotransplantation. Group 3 (K3) performed bilateral oophorectomy with autotransplantation. Measurements of FSH levels were performed on the first day, day 28 (four weeks after bilateral oophorectomy, during late menopause) and 56 day (four weeks after autotransplant). Measurement of FSH levels using ELISA. Data analysis used ANOVA and Post Hoc test.Results: The mean FSH level measured on day 56 at K1 = 63.400 ng/mL, at K2 = 78.416 ng/mL and K3 = 31.991 ng/mL. There were significant differences between K1 and K2 (p = 0,000), K1 and K3 (p = 0,000), and between K2 and K3 (p = 0,000).Conclusion: Ovarian autotransplantation decrease FSH levels in Wistar rats late menopause model.

PURPOSE: To evaluate the effect of local nitroglycerin on the viable area of a prefabricated flap for vascular implant in rats, and to investigate the surgical delay procedure. METHODS: A femoral pedicle was implanted under the skin of the abdominal wall in forty Wistar rats. The animals were divided into four groups of ten: group 1 - without surgical delay procedure and local nitroglycerin; group 2 - with surgical delay procedure, but without local nitroglycerin; group 3 - without surgical delay procedure, but with local nitroglycerin; and group 4 - with simultaneous surgical delay procedure and local nitroglycerin. The percentages of the viable areas, in relation to the total flap, were calculated using AutoCAD R 14. RESULTS: The mean percentage value of the viable area was 8.9% in the group 1. 49.4% in the group 2; 8.4% in the group 3 and 1.1% in the group 4. There was significant difference between groups 1 and 2 (p=0.005), 1 and 4 (p=0.024), 2 and 3 (p=0.003), 2 and 4 (p=0.001). These results support the hypothesis that the closure of the arterial venous channels is responsible for the phenomenon of surgical delay procedure. CONCLUSION: Local nitroglycerin did not cause an increase in the prefabricated viable flap area by vascular implantation and decreased the viable flap area that underwent delay procedures.

ABSTRACT Objective:  To find a correlation between the severity of enamel microcracks (EMCs) and their increase during debonding and residual adhesive removal (RAR). Materials and Methods:  Following their examination with scanning electron microscopy (SEM), 90 extracted human premolars were divided into three groups of 30: group 1, teeth having pronounced EMCs (visible with the naked eye under normal room illumination); group 2, teeth showing weak EMCs (not apparent under normal room illumination but visible by SEM); and group 3, a control group. EMCs have been classified into weak and pronounced, based on their visibility. Metal brackets (MB) and ceramic brackets (CB), 15 of each type, were bonded to all the teeth from groups 1 and 2. Debonding was performed with pliers, followed by RAR. The location, length, and width of the longest EMCs were measured using SEM before and after debonding. Results:  The mean overall width (Woverall) was higher for pronounced EMCs before and after debonding CB (P < .05), and after the removal of MB. Pronounced EMCs showed greater length values using both types of brackets. After debonding, the increase in Woverall of pronounced EMCs was 0.57 µm with MB (P < .05) and 0.30 µm with CB; for weak EMCs, − 0.32 µm with MB and 0.30 µm with CB. Conclusions:  Although the teeth having pronounced EMCs showed higher width and length values, this did not predispose to greater EMCs increase after debonding MB and CB followed by RAR.

Aim: This study aims to determine the effects of methanolic root extract of Holarrehna floribunda on the level of some serum sex hormones, follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), testosterone, estradiol, progesterone and lipid profile in Wistar rats.   Materials and Methods: Twenty- four male and female Wistar rats (150-250 g body weight) were randomly assigned into 4 groups of 6 rats each. Group 1 (control male) took normal rat chow and drinking water. Group 2 (control female) took normal rat chow and drinking water, Group 3(Male test group), was administered with 200 mg/kg of Holarrehna floribunda extract, Group 4(Female test group), was administered with 200 mg/kg of Holarrehna floribunda. The feeding regimens lasted for 5weeks. Results: The values for the lipid profile shows CHOL in Group 1 and Group 3 were 4.02±0.41 mmol/l  and 5.75±0.09 mmol/l, Group 2 and Group 4 were 3.87±0.22 mmol/l  and 5.80±0.10 mmol/l  respectively, TRIG  for Group 1 and Group 3 were 1.30±0.05 mmol/l  and 2.11±0.15 mmol/l  for Groups 2 and 4 were 1.15±0.03 mmol/l  and (2.10±0.12 mmol/l,HDL-C for Groups 1 and 3 were 30.01±0.82 mg/dL  and 39.88± 1.24mg/dL,for Groups 2 and 4 were 29.98± 0.77 mg/dL  and 38.20± 1.83 mg/dL, LDL-C for Groups 1 and 3 were 2.26±0.37 mmol/L  and 4.17±0.35 mmol/L respectively, for Groups 2 and 4 were 3.27±0.47 mmol/L  and 4.06±0.21 mmol/L  respectively, shows significant increase(p<0.05) in HDL-C (mg/dL) in Groups 1,2,3 and 4.The values obtained showed significant increase (p<0.05) in HDL-C (mg/dL) in Groups 1,2,3and 4The serum concentrations of FSH, Estradiol, LH and progesterone in the control Group 2 were 0.38 ±0.07mIU/mL, 7.83±0.35 mIU/mL, 15.50±0.15 Pg/mL and 0.86±0.03 ng/mL respectively, and in test Group 4 were 0.77±0.04mIU/mL, 8.75±0.17 mIU/mL, 21.09±0.79 Pg/Ml 0.33±0.05 ng/mL. Follicle stimulating hormone levels was significantly higher (p<0.05) in test group compared with control. While in Group 1 and 3, the serum concentrations of FSH, LH, and testosterone in control Group 1 were (0.51 ±0.06) mIU/mL, (16.44±0.31) mIU/mL and (8.41±0.50) ng/mL respectively and in test Group 3 were 0.88±0.06 mIU/mL19.88±1.46mIU/mL and10.68±0.64 ng/mL, respectively. Conclusion: The extract improves the level of sex hormones in both the male and female rats.  which could enhance reproductive functions in normal rats and those with loss of reproductive function.

Objective. To measure the sagittal alignment of the tibial tubercle through the sagittal tibial tubercle–trochlear groove (sTTTG) distance in patients with and without patellar chondral lesions. Design. Patients treated with patellofemoral cartilage restoration or repair procedures were retrospectively reviewed (group 1; N = 17). A control group of patients (group 2; N = 20) undergoing partial meniscectomy with normal patellar cartilage was included. An asymptomatic patellar chondrosis group (group 3; N = 15) was identified as patients undergoing partial meniscectomy with patellar cartilage wear. The sTTTG was measured on the preoperative axial T2 magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) sequence. The first point was the nadir of the anterior trochlear cartilage, and the second point was the anterior tibial tubercle. A line was drawn between these points, perpendicular to the posterior condylar axis. Comparisons were made between the 3 groups using analysis of variance testing with Bonferroni corrections. Significance was defined as P < 0.05. Results. The mean sTTTG was significantly more posterior in group 1 (5.9 ± 5.5 mm posterior to the trochlear groove) relative to group 2 (0.8 ± 5.3 mm posterior; P = 0.018). The mean value for group 3 (2.7 ± 5.3 mm posterior) fell between group 1 and 3 but was not significantly different from group 1 ( P = 0.31) or group 2 ( P = 0.89). There were no significant differences with regards to sulcus angle, Caton-Deschamps Index, TTTG, or knee flexion angle on the MRI scan. Conclusions. A more posteriorly positioned tibial tubercle was observed in patients with patellar cartilage lesions relative to those with intact patellar cartilage. Intermediate positioning was observed in patients with asymptomatic patellar chondral wear. Level of Evidence. Level 3 diagnostic study.

The aim of our study was to investigate the levels of endothelin-1 and aside nitrogen in the serum of children with kidney diseases that clinically present with hematuria syndrome. Materials and methods: a total of 158 children aged 1 to 18 years with kidney disease, having a course with hematuria. Patients were divided into 3 groups: group 1 – glomerulonephritis; group 2 – hereditary nephritis; group 3 – dismetabolic nephropathy. It was studied the level of endothelin, nitric oxide in serum, the level of hematuria, AU in urine, blood biochemistry, glomerular filtration. Results: the highest level of ET-1 was detected in patients with glomerulonephritis - 0,82±0.055 fmol/ml, with the variation range from 0.10 to 3.2 fmol/ml, which twice exceeded the mean values in the control group, whereas the growth rate of hereditary nephritis and DN was more moderate (0,64±0,063 and 0,54±0,072 fmol/ml, respectively). The NO level increased significantly in patients with glomerulonephritis to 120,2±12,3 μmol/l. Conclusions. Determining the level of ET-1 and NO in the serum of children with kidney diseases, having a course with hematuria, gives the opportunity to get an idea about the presence of endothelium dysfunction. Indicators of endothelial dysfunction can be used as markers of severity and progression of the disease.

Background Sauropus androgynus leaves is the substance which has the potency to prevent degenerative processes. Sauropus androgynus leaves has flavonoid as the main component. Flavonoid has antioxidant and anti neuro-inflammation that can be used to prevent Alzheimer dementia. Research purpose is knowing the effect of Sauropus androgynus leaves for the cognitive function and β-amyloid expression in the hippocampus of wistar rats. Methods Reseacrh was done by in vivo method, where male wistar rats (n=24) were distributed to six groups which consisting of four rats. Group 1: Normal control, group 2: positive control, group 3: standard treatment (B12 vitamin), group 4, 5 and 6 were give Sauropus androgynus leaves extract with the dose of 75 mg/kgBB, 150 mg/kgBB and 300 mg/kgBB, respectively for 28 days. Cognitive function was evaluated by t-maze test, where hippocampal β-amyloid expression was tested by immunohistochemistry. Results Time differences (day 0-28), alternation ratio distinction (day 0-28) and β-amiloid expression were: group 1 (1,84 second; 0,23 unit; 0,518%), group 2 (56,78 second; -0,42 unit; 40,036%), group 3 (34,46 second; -0,25 unit; 33,08%), group 4 (32,83  second; -0,09 unit; 28,88%), group 5 (-3,91 second; 0,42 unit; 14,728%), group 6 (24,25 second; 0,42 unit; 9,4%). Conclusion Sauropus androgynus leaves extract at the dose of 150 mg/kgBB and 300 mg/kgBB can maintain cognitive function by decreasing hippocampal β-amyloid formation.

Objective: To examine the effectiveness of music therapy on anxiety levels and β-endorphin levels in primigravida during the third stage of pregnancy.Methods: This was a quasy experimental study with pretest-posttest control group design. The research was conducted in December 2016 - Januari 2017. There were 39 respondents selected using purposive sampling technique, which 13 assigned in the experiment group 1 (music therapy with a sound pressure of 40 dB), experiment group 2 (music therapy with a sound pressure of 62 dB) and control group (health counseling). Anxiety levels were measured using the HARS (Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale), and β-endorphin hormone levels were measured using ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) method. Data analysis used paired t-test, One-Way Anova test with post-hoc bonferroni, and Kruskall Wallis test with post-hoc Mann Whitney.Results: Findings revealed that there was a decrease of the mean of anxiety levels in the experiment group 1 from 31.92 (pretest) to 24.69 (posttest), and the experiment group 2 from 34.54 (pretest) to 25 (posttest) with p-value <0.05; and there was an increase of the mean of β-Endorphin levels in the experiment group 1 from 53.63 (pretest) to 63.24 (posttest), and the experiment group 2 from 48.55 (pretest) to 64.9 (posttest) with p-value <0.05; however there was no effect of counseling in the control group on anxiety levels (p=0.413) and β-Endorphin levels (p= 0.394)Conclusion: Music therapy is effective in reducing anxiety levels and increasing β-endorphin levels. Thus, music therapy can be used as an alternative treatment for pregnant mothers at home who experienced anxiety.

Present research has done to know the effect of Internet Addicts and Non Addicts on Mental Health. For this Total number of sample was 480 in which 240 Internet Addicts from the age group of 13-19, 20-30, and 30- up years. And 240 non Addicts were taken the same age group. For the data collection Comprehensive anxiety test (2006)by Sharma, Bhardwaj and Bhargavwas used for data analysis, 2x2x3 factorial design was used and data were analysis by „F‟ test. Concluded result ANOVA was used. According to the results show that there are significant differences in the Anxiety factor due to age at 0.01 levels. It is seen that the mean of age group-1 (13-19years) is 30.975, age group-2 (20-30years) is 26.656 while the same for age group-3 (31and above) is 24.281. Thus we can say that Anxiety is found to be higher among age group-1 compared to the group-2 and group-3 subjects. In the anxiety it implies that age group-1 effect motivates the individual to cope with day problems better then age group 2 and 3.

Abstract Introduction/Objective Introduction: Type-2 diabetes have a risk factor of multiple complications such as coronary artery diseases (CAD), premature atheroscalerosis and diabetic retinopathy. IGF-1 is regulated by a balance of hormones such as growth hormone and insulin. It is important that circulating IGF1 in serum has normal levels to maintain glucose metabolism. Objectives: Monitoring of IGF-1levels in T2DM with macrovascular complications (CVD) and microvascular complications (retinopathy). Methods Subjects and methods: The collection of samples started in June 2018 and ended in December 2018. A total of 114 subjects were enrolled in this study; 98 clinically diagnosed T2D patients who were recruited from the outpatient clinic of the National Institute for Diabetes and Endocrinology “NIDE”, in addition to 16 healthy comparable control subjects (without diabetes). The subjects divided into 3 groups. Group 1; a population of 44 T2D patients with macrovascular complications (28 females and 16 males), the mean age was 57.4 years. Group 2; a population of 54 T2D patients with microvascular complicatios (34 females and 20 males), the mean age was 59.1 years. Group 3; a population of 16 healthy subjects (12 female and 4 males), the mean age was 59.2 years. Levels of FBS, C-peptide, HbA1c, Lipid profile, lipoprotein(a), hs-CRP and microalbuminurea were measured in all subjects. Seum concentration of IGF-1 was measured by commercially immunoenzymatic ELIZA method. Results It was found that serum concentration of IGF-1 decreased in diabetic patients groups compared to the control one. The mean±SD of group 1, group 2 and group 3 were (332.2±152.2), (316.9 ±142.2) and (625.4 ± 257.7) respectively. Conclusion It was observed that there was a negative correlation between serum IGF-1 levels in T2D patients compared to the control group. Also, it was found that T2D patients with microvascular complications had lower IGF-1 levels than patients with macrovascular ones. It seems that IGF-1 strongly involved in the incidence and pathogenesis of T2DM complications.
