Problematic. At adaptation of a design of discs of rotor of air gas-turbine drives (GTD) it is necessary to conduct, in particular, strength calculations for what to create the computer models corresponding to stated designs (delineations) and operation conditions. If creation of a geometrical part of model does not call special difficulties the algorithm of creation of an is finite-element grid models for carrying out of calculations of performances of the disc stress-strain conditions (SSC) with blades can be modified taking into account development of programs for calculate. Research objective. To offer the algorithms allowing with the set exactitude to calculate performance of the SSC of discs with blades on personal computers, and also to represent outcomes in the form of schedules of type "surface". Realization technique. On an example of the disc of 2nd stage of the compressor of GTD the algorithm of construction of a three-dimensional is finite-element grid of the disc of GTD from the separate blocks which have been "pasted together" in a unified grid has been created. Numerical calculations (a contact problem of thermoelasticity, isotropic materials) are carried out. For preparation of construction of schedules of type "surface" the interface program of transformation of the table of columns in the two-dimensional table is created. The results of research. Are created and explicitly techniques of reaching of research objectives are described. Conclusions. The created techniques allow to carry out on the limited computer powers exact enough control calculations of discs with blades in three-dimensional statement, to conduct visualisation of distribution of stresses and contact forces of a zone of a contact "disc-blades" in the form of schedules of type "surface".

This paper is about blade flutter in a tuned rotor. With the aid of the combination of three dimensional structural finite element method, two dimensional aerodynamical finite difference method and strip theory, the quasi-steady models in which two degrees of freedom for a single wing were considered have been extended to multiple degrees of freedom for the whole blade in a tuned rotor. The eigenvalues solved from the blade motion equation have been used to judge whether the system is stable or not. The calculating procedure has been formed and using it the first stage rotating blades of a compressor where flutter had occurred, have been predicted. The numerical flutter boundaries have good agreement with the experimental ones.

The finite-element method (1) (2)∗ is increasingly used in the stress analysis of mechanical-engineering problems. It is the purpose of this paper to described how the finite-element method can be used as an effective tool in the design of rotors. Up to the present time this method has mainly been used in the analysis of two-dimensional problems. However, a special class of three-dimensional problems, namely axi-symmetric rotors, can be treated as a nearly two-dimensional problem. This paper summarizes the development of the finite-element method as applied to the analysis of the axi-symmetric rotor. A computer programme is then briefly described, and the application of the method to the solution of three examples taken from practical engineering experience are presented.

By means of comparing results from finite element analysis and photoelasticity, the salient characteristics of a finite element model of a nut and bolt have been established. A number of two-dimensional and three-dimensional models were created with varying levels of complexity, and the results were compared with photoelastic results. It was found that both two-dimensional and three-dimensional models could produce accurate results provided the nut thread run-out and friction were modeled accurately. When using two-dimensional models, a number of models representing different positions around the helix of the thread were created to obtain more data for the stress distribution. This approach was found to work well and to be economical.

This study uses the finite element method (FEM) to analyze the excitation and dead vibration modes of two-dimensional quartz plates. We first simplify three-dimensional quartz plates with plane strain simplification and then compare the modes of the simplified three-dimensional plates to those of two-dimensional plates. We then analyze quartz vibrating elements of AT-cut plates and SC-cut plates. To understand the regularity of the resonance frequency of plates that are excitable by voltage loading, we compare the natural vibrations of quartz plates with the excitation frequency generated after the plates are excited by voltage loading.

The distinctive paper is devoted to wavelet-based discrete-continual finite element method (WDCFEM) of structural analysis. Two-dimensional and three-dimensional problems of analysis of structures with piecewise constant physical and geometrical parameters along so-called “basic” direction are under consideration. High-accuracy solution of the corresponding problems at all points of the model is not required normally, it is necessary to find only the most accurate solution in some pre-known local domains. Wavelet analysis is a powerful and effective tool for corresponding researches. Initial continual and discrete-continual formulations of multipoint boundary problems of two-dimensional and three-dimensional structural analysis are presented.

The distinctive paper is devoted to wavelet-based discrete-continual finite element method (WDCFEM) of structural analysis. Discrete-continual formulations of multipoint boundary problems of two-dimensional and three-dimensional structural analysis are transformed to corresponding localized formulations by using the discrete Haar wavelet basis and finally, with the use of averaging and reduction algorithms, the localized and reduced governing equations are obtained. Special algorithms of localization with respect to each degree of freedom are presented.
