Home Security Systems are very important features of modern residential and office setups. This system is used to keep home safe from harmful gases, fire and intruders. It must be affordable, reliable and effective. In this paper, a GSM based home security system has been designed and implemented. The system consists of a GSM Module, MQ-2 smoke detector, Ultrasonic sonar sensor, LM35 temperature sensor, Arduino Uno and relay module. The MQ-2 smoke detector is used to detect harmful gases i.e. LPG, CH4, CO, Alcohol, Smoke or Propane. Any of the harmful gases stated above is detected it will warn the owner by activating the buzzer and displaying a warning message on the LCD display. It will also send a SMS to the owner. Our system can also measure temperate and if the temperature is increased above a certain range it will compensate it by activating Air Conditioner through the relay module. The system will also send a SMS to the owner. It can also detect intruders using Ultrasonic sensor and warn us through buzzer, SMS and displaying message on the LCD. Our system is reliable as it has very fast response and cost effective and it has been developed using our own technologies.

This paper presents a secure and reliable home automation system in order to make everyone’s life simpler and fulfil the needs of the disabled or the elderly. The paper proposes a system based on efficient smart watch that uses arduino microcontroller which is embedded with a WIFI module and enables us to control a number of home appliances such as lights, fans and others using on/off relay. In our work, the appliances need not to be smart beforehand as arduino would be externally connected to them such that the system designed would be controlled by gestures i.e. users can control the working of the appliances by moving their hand in upward or downward direction over the screen. This system is comparatively efficient and cost effective than other proposed systems in terms of scalability and reliability. Also, the proposed system has been thoroughly tested and verified in various environmental conditions.

The rapid and revolutionary advancement in technology has increased the demand for advanced ubiquitous mobile applications in our daily lives. Home automation system uses collective smart technology to elevate sphere of security and human living standards. Wireless Smart home systems have been prototyped by researchers to realize different applications in vast contexts. In this paper we propose a keyless smart home security system which uses Bluetooth as a communication protocol to automate door locks based on a security code and predefined user credentials. The system combines Android phone as a signal sender to dispatch the input signal from an end users side, Bluetooth communication module as signal receiver, ARDUINO microcontroller as CPU and servo motor and light emitting diodes as an output. The system integrates two modules: one of which is Arduino microcontroller which is responsible for authentication and verification of security code and allows servo motor to process the output according to the received input. The second is android Application which provides an interface to the user to set credentials and security code which is then transmitted to the Arduino microcontroller via Bluetooth technology. Since Arduino and Android are open source, hence implementation rate of the proposed system is inexpensive and feasible.

<span>Home security and automation is crucial issue concerned by people. A home security system is needed for convenience and safety. A home automation system is a key to having effective energy efficiency in the house. In this paper, we present the design and implementation of a web-based home security and automation system. This system make use of PIR motion sensor to detect intruder in the house. This sensor is further fed to microcontroller which would help the GSM module to send notification to house owner regarding the intrusion. On the other hand, the LDR light sensor is used to provide auto-light functionality which will turn on the light at night and dim it at day time. A web-based system function as a remote control system for user to monitor control the sensors and lights at home in order to save energy consumption. This system is accessible by user anytime and anywhere as long there is an Internet connection.</span>

Security of lives and properties is highly important for enhanced quality living. Smart home automation and its application have received much progress towards convenience, comfort, safety, and home security. With the advances in technology and the Internet of Things (IoT), the home environment has witnessed an improved remote control of appliances, monitoring, and home security over the internet. Several home automation systems have been developed to monitor movements in the home and report to the user. Existing home automation systems detect motion and have surveillance for home security. However, the logical aspect of averting unnecessary or fake notifications is still a major area of challenge. Intelligent response and monitoring make smart home automation efficient. This work presents an intelligent home automation system for controlling home appliances, monitoring environmental factors, and detecting movement in the home and its surroundings. A deep learning model is proposed for motion recognition and classification based on the detected movement patterns. Using a deep learning model, an algorithm is developed to enhance the smart home automation system for intruder detection and forestall the occurrence of false alarms. A human detected by the surveillance camera is classified as an intruder or home occupant based on his walking pattern. The proposed method’s prototype was implemented using an ESP32 camera for surveillance, a PIR motion sensor, an ESP8266 development board, a 5 V four-channel relay module, and a DHT11 temperature and humidity sensor. The environmental conditions measured were evaluated using a mathematical model for the response time to effectively show the accuracy of the DHT sensor for weather monitoring and future prediction. An experimental analysis of human motion patterns was performed using the CNN model to evaluate the classification for the detection of humans. The CNN classification model gave an accuracy of 99.8%.

A desired technology in 21st century for home automation is an intelligent system. An objective of any automated system is to reduce human labor, efforts, time and errors. Commonly Home Automation is a system where various home appliances like air conditioner, TV, Refrigerator, etc are capable to communicate with each other and they can be remotely controlled. Here is presented a paper which discuss a home automation system through virtual personal assistant’s capability of speech recognition and through raspberry pi to automate home devices such as air cooler, lights, fans, TV etc. This system is a combination of various different technologies such as voice recognition, voice analysis and voice processing. A device microphone is used to receive voice requests while the speaker gives voice output.. The system also uses Artificial intelligence techniques which can solve various human queries through web search and can also control the home appliances.

Abstract: This modern era is about pursuing your passion, people not only focus on work but take up several hobbies to follow, either it be learning a new instrument, hiking, or vlogging your life. Everything must be done within 24 hours of a day. This creates a never-ending demand for technology that could encourage full utilization of time by eliminating the basic and mundane tasks of individuals. Inspired by this stream of thoughts we are developing a system that provides a cost-effective solution to the problem by creating a voice-operated home automation system. This is achieved by using the principles of the Internet of Things integrated with Neural Libraries. We can create an environment in which several appliances can be operated on voice commands, either it be turning on a fan or closing a door all are just one command away. The system utilizes BOLT IoT with a voice flow application to make an economical, scalable, and user-friendly home automation model. Keywords: IoT, Voice recognition, Smart home, BOLT IoT, Integromate.

Due to increasing robbery and intrusion, establishing home-security system has become a correlated part of the modern houses, buildings, and offices. As the family members are not at home all the time, the traditional home security system, which makes alarm sound only, may not be efficient enough. Alternatively, Global System for Mobile communications (GSM) based security system can provide higher level of security and convenience compared to the traditionally used systems. The main objective of the current paper is to design and implement cost-efficient and reliable security, safety and home automation system for protection and occupants’ convenience. If any undesired events, such as intrusion, gas leakage and fire occurs in the house, our system warns the homeowner in real-time using Short Message Service (SMS). With the proposed system home appliances can also be controlled in three ways, namely sending SMS from the authorized numbers to the system through GSM network, smartphone app using Bluetooth module and infrared (IR) control using IR module
